Television Succession

It's great, but there were too many episodes that didn't go anywhere last season for me to put it at the very top. This one has started way stronger, mind.
Completely disagree. It might have felt like that at the time but 0308 and 0309 brought all the threads together beautifully. You wouldn’t have had those episodes if they hadn’t carefully woven it in the preceding 7. I’ve just finished watching back all three seasons and when you know what is coming you notice so many little things they laid along the way. Just brilliant writing.

I definitely remember feeling like season three wasn't as strong as the first two. Something about it didn't feel as tight knit and "grand", like it was hampered by Covid.

Still great TV, though

Incredibly strong start to the season and some of the lines just have you really really laughing.

I was under the impression once the deal went through Gojo would also have taken control of ATN. I clearly missed something obvious

Walking around like jaws if everyone in jaws worked for jaws.

Felt like that ep was unbelievably written. Unbelievably strong start to the season.

Mattson says to Logan when they meet at his house (end of Season 3) that Logan can keep an asset of his choosing if he wants. It seems that Logan has chosen ATN, although I agree that I don't think this was made clear within the most recent episodes.

“Congrats on losing your betrayal cherry”

Saw an interesting comparison on Reddit between the Murdoch's and the Roy's.

If this is the direction then Murdoch basically split his company, has 1 son running each half and a daughter who fecked off to England.

Succession just loves its real world easter eggs, from Ken/James Murdoch’s little rap arc to vegetable Sandy Furness/Sumner Redstone

Also this seems very deliberate...

That’s really interesting thanks for putting it in a spoiler

Hasn't it been fairly obvious all along they've been largely portraying this series on the Murdochs? There have been plenty of articles on the parallels as well. This scene was, therefore, definitely intended.

If it proves to be accurate I’d say it’s ruined the entire show
It’s not a theory though, literally just pointing out what happened in the Murdoch family which the show is obviously based on to an extent . I doubt they would just copy that as verbatim. There have been subtle nods such as the examples posted but the majority is fiction obviously.

Yeah I saw a couple before I started watching but I have little knowledge about them to be fair.
