Television Succession

its one of the strengths of the show I find, you have to fill in so many blanks and form your own conclusions. Like, where did Roman’s non intercourse having girlfriend go?!
Presumably she’s off making people swallow their own cum.

Have a feeling Logan will now not sell the company, meaning the kids won’t have money to buy Pierce. Probably end up with massive litigation or some shit.

It would be cool to get a flashback episode where they use the kids from the intro

It wouldn't really work, since the ages are all wonky compared to the intro kids. Shiv is in her 30s, and Connor is in his 50s. I guess they could just ignore Connor and the others kinda work, but I don't think flashbaks are a great idea anyway.

I imagine they were cast just based on their looks, so I would not have any faith that they'd be good enough to act in this. Especially when the Roy kids all have such distinct personalities and mannerisms and are all acted brilliantly

Yeah, but Roman could easily work.

which is on point :)

I can wade into the United for sale thread and drop a few Kendalisms and sound like I know what I'm talking about...

Was rewatching series 3 and had a busy week so only got to watch the new episode now.

I’m glad they’re finishing it after this series. That was such a good episode. If they can finish it out maintaining the quality they have so far it’ll go down as one of the all time great tv shows. Dragging it out for the sake of it would probably lead to a decline in quality.

I thought Logan was great in that episode. The way he roasted back everyone that roasted him was brilliant.

“Where’s your old man? Where’s your old man, huh? Still sucking c**k at the county fair?”, to Greg, in what I think might have been the first reference to his father in the whole show? And Greg just nodding along

when Greg said “where are your kids” I burst laughing and couldn’t stop for a few minutes. That was an incredible scene.

It was so good  but how quick Logan replied to that and buried him really got me.

Without question my favourite show of all time. It’s just so so good. The drama is one thing but it’s a world class comedy too.

It's great, but there were too many episodes that didn't go anywhere last season for me to put it at the very top. This one has started way stronger, mind.
The pacing of season three was perfect.

This is like when people talk about breaking bad starting out slow when a dead body disintegrated in acid in a bathtub falls through the floor in the second episode.

It was a very common criticism of season 3, both during and after. It ended very well, but up until the last few episodes it was beginning to feel like the show was going around in circles, just replaying the same storyline over and over. I can see people liking it in hindsight, but it was definitely not perfect.

The way it paid off at the end was the whole point. Saying you can see why people like it in hindsight is acknowledging that it worked.

And whilst it was slower it wasn’t lacking in quality; I rewatched the whole show in the run up to S4 dropping and didn’t feel any lag at all. Plus S3 was only 9 episodes.

Yeah, because you didn't have to wait a week for the next episode and you knew there was a pay-off at the end.

The pay-off wouldn’t have delivered in the same way without the way it was paced, and those earlier episodes weren’t just pointless filler. It was done perfectly, I stand by that.
