 The braindead cnuts really ought to have seen this coming. Everybody else did.

What are those accounts? I'm not being a smartarse, I just haven't seen any real description of what the clause says.

Just the general consensus from a range of journalists that there is no release clause. More a gentleman's agreement if anything.

As a side point, the biggest noise about Suarez leaving is coming from the likes of John Cross & David Ormstein. Both whom have a considerable soft spot for Arsenal.

I am sure they did, but they have been playing the nice and friendly card. This will serve to make him the villain in the eyes of the fans and make it easier to get rid of them. Earlier in the week, the fans wanted to keep him, by tomorrow morning that will be all different. £45m later, he will be gone.

Scant updates for a week on both Suarez threads (here and Football Forum), then bam two pages within two hours. :D

Nice of Oreinvsky or whatever that stupid Mirror 'journalist' (bollox) who is a keen Arsenal fan and only beaten for cuntishness to his club by John Cross. LMFAO.

I've read the BBC article and apart from a well constructed mouthpiece for Wenger, I don't see anything in that article that is any different from what was said a week/fortnight ago. If anyone can find some decent quotes on what has changed, and I don't mean "we have understood from sources close to suarez" :haha:, I'd be interested.

You want to keep the cnut?

The offers so far have been derisory. Therefore, yes keep the cnut.

Then my club is deluded too.

And the club holds Suarez. As you were then.

I don't like football any more, I'm being fed lines that £40m for Suarez is derisory, £85m for Bale isn't enough and Wayne Rooney is only worth £20m.

At the risk of breaking of my own club's guidelines. Man up, woman.

I don't believe I've opined on the matter of Suarez since joining the caf. When I was on TGP (RIP), a multi-club forum, Suarez was the subject of considerable debate and that debate got so heated that it precipitated the demise of TGP and I was probably one of the worst offenders. So I'll lay may cards and confess my belief that Suarez is reprehensible human being who brings shame to the sport.

With that confession, let try deal with several points:

Suarez does not "deserve" to move up from Liverpool to a CL club. I understand why he wants to do so, but the use of the word "deserve" is ill-advised. No player "deserves" to be playing for a "better" team simply because he's too good for the team he's on. But his desire to escape Liverpool is perfectly reasonable.

Arsenal would be unwise to acquire Suarez, sensational football he may be. Under Wenger, Arsenal are one of those "the whole is greater than the sum of their parts" clubs. Wenger, right or wrong, does not buy individuals (arguably, he doesn't even buy footballers!); be buys players who fit into his system. He doesn't spend big and he doesn't authorize massive wages. Maybe that's a bad idea, but if he's going to break the mold Suarez is just the wrong guy to break the mold for.

Suarez should not want to go to Arsenal. Although he has only himself to blame for his reputation in England, the truth is that he has a very poor reputation in England that's not going to change by going from Liverpool to Arsenal. If anything, the hot lights could get only hotter playing in London. What he should have his agents do is try to work a deal with Real or Barcelona or even a Serie A club. While it's universally, acknowledged he's a sensational futbolista, it may well be he's just not needed at Real or Barcelona or Juve or Bayern or other "top clubs". Maybe only Arsenal, among "top clubs", would want Suarez because of existing roster or whatever other considerations.

Suarez, in the absence of interest from Real or Barcelona, would be best advised to stick it out with Liverpool for another season rather than going to Arsenal. Yes, the absence of CL play is a serious problem -- as well as the fact that Liverpool are going nowhere fast -- but if we wants to redeem his name around the world he should spend a squeaky clean season st LFC then push for the transfer next season. He's still got his prime years ahead of him and if he pulls off a magnificent season without reprehensible incident Real and/or Barca will be in for him and then he can get the fukk out of England.

Maybe, had Hulk, Falcao and Bale not skewed the market. But we are where we are. Supply and demand.

His most recent ban for biting has made him virtually untouchable. I am quite shocked that prune face wants to buy him, as he normally speaks from the moral high ground.

£40m is the right price.

But Poo must know that Suarez will act the sulky cnut if they force him to stay. It's a shitty situation for them.

Maybe they figure he's a sulky cnut at the best of times and likely to miss a third of the season with suspsension, so he can't possibly do them any more harm when they've upset him.

They are wrong and it'll be funny to watch

Liverpool will regret turning down that £40m I think and Arsenal are in the driving seat now. Can't believe there isn't other teams in for him though.

A very substantial transfer fee for a player who will undoubtedly give you problems is obviously a step too far for some big clubs.

I'm starting to believe they are basing their valuation of Suarez on what they paid for Carroll :D

I just can't for the life of me figure out why Wenger would want such a man at the club. I know they have had some notorious players in the past but none as pathetically scummy as this one.

I remember when tapping up used to be all the rage.

Now, I think we've got to a stage where everyone's at it so no-one gives a toss.

Of course Suarez was 'tapped up.' I don't know how, I don't know when. But he was.

Here's what he said yesterday, mate:

Wenger said that if Suarez does become an Arsenal player, such behaviour will not be tolerated.

He said: "We have values that we want our players to respect. No matter where they come from, we will be very touchy on that of course.

"This club has built a reputation, not only during my period here but over 127 years, and the values that are very important for this club have to be respected by every player, no matter where he comes from. That will be with every potential signing."

The man is a total twat ,but a hell of a player, As for the tapping up ha ha it happens all the time ,i have 15 year old lads in the football team i run and managers are going round to their houses promising them the world , so its nothing new..

He'll control him fine. I reckon people will be amazed.

I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but the city of Liverpool is one of the main factors here. Suarez racially abused Evra and the whole city comes out in support of him. T-Shirts. Forums. Flags. Endless stuff. It's quite unbelievable.

That just wouldn't happen at Arsenal. If he racially abused someone, it would not be tolerated within the club or out of it.

It's not Arsene, is it? :D

EDIT: I see you're not based in France, so it's unlikely to be Wenger. :D

Which is of course the sensible reaction.
