Steven Gerrard

Laughable that he got second place vs Toure. Liverpool would have had a similar season this season without him in my opinion. Whereas Toure has won a hell of a lot of points for City this season. For me, Gerrard is probably the most over rated player in the last 10 years. Followed closely by Wayne Rooney and John Terry. They were great players, but the amount the English media hypes them is unbelievable. I'm not going to bother checking the stats, but I'm assuming these three players have dominated the MOTM awards, for some very average displays at time!

He does. Toure doesn't hold a candle to any of the great PL midfielders IMO. Gerrard, Keane, Vieira, Fabregas, Scholes, Lampard, Makalele and Co were all comfortably better.
While I don't hold Gerrard in that group. I think he tends to be less likely to go missing than Toure.

Gerrard has scored 30 penalties in the league, that's about 20% of his total tally.

On goals per minute Scholes beats him.

Non penalty goals per minute = no contest.

Just FWIW.

Pretty bloody amazing considering Scholes spent the last 5 years in a quarter back role where he rarely had the chance to score.

Interestingly Scholes is no where near as highly regarded by 'neutrals' as he is by United fans. I'm sure the majority of forums would back Gerrard over Scholes in a debate between the two. I'm undecided but the way United fans treat it as a closed debate is a bit ridiculous to be honest, almost as if someone has suggested Danny Murphy was better than Zidane.

It's usually pretty even on non United or Liverpool forums, which I think is about right.

That's a bit of a sweeping statement with no evidence to back that up Bobby about neutrals. I can only give you my opinion and that is Scholes was on a different level to Gerrard (who I thought was a brilliant player) although I thought Gerrard lacked the tactical nous to play midfield top level and his passing was a little erratic (Hollywood) at times. He still was dynamic and a game changer but Scholes for me like Pirlo was an orchestrator a pure puppet master of a player.

It's utterly hysterical to be honest, this is just so good right now and it makes no sense because we're 7th and City are gonna win the league.

Perfect end to a great weekend Suarez in tears and Gerrard broken in pieces, lacks mental strength that one, 3 nil up and fecked it up lolz... :)

Suarez is such a dick, by not showing his face he's pretty much nipped any Scott Tenorman photoshop's in the bud.
