I liked it. Bit cheesy at the end, but then it is Star Trek. Michelle Yeoh was awesome though... Sure we've not seen the last of her, or Tyler, or maybe even Lorca
He'll be on the Enterprise at this point, iirc
Are we not in a Flash point issue here. I presumed due to the time travel and universe hopping we were now in an alternate timeline.
Possibly also he hasn’t joined the enterprise yet as it’s captain Pike in charge. I’m just going forward with the presumption everything we know from Star Trek lore is now re-written due to ‘Trek-point” looking forward to the next season to see what happens.
Hmmm, grand finale felt more like they ran out of budget.
Was a bit of a damp finale. I was expecting given the dark tone of the series it’d go down in a blaze of glory and not the wimpy Star Trek way. The thing that set this apart from the rest was the darkness and real grit then it got all idiolistic. Just kinda spoiled it for me.
so anyone think the next captain they are picking up from Vulcan is spok? If so I wonder if Zachery Quinto would play him. Not sure he is up to much and he isn’t In a position where I think he could just refuse tv gigs right out. Who knows.
Is there a reason the Klingon's couldn't have just shot weirdo lady and continued the war? Would the bomb go off if she died?

Yeah awful end to the series. Shame really as the whole second half was building momentum really well.
I felt the episode where they had just retured from the alternative universe would have made a much better ending. The whole 'got the universe back from almost total Klingon domination in two episodes' felt really rushed.
I actually thought that was the ending, I saw someone mention the Enterprise in here after watching Episode 13 and went back and rewatched the ending, then realised there were 2 more episodes.
I would of prefered if Lorca had remained in power but wanted to rule both universes.
He jumps back with an armada at his back, starts smashing the Klingons.
Would be interesting to see how that would go down. Star Fleet stuck between a rock/hard place.
I guess it's kind of similar to the dominion in DS9. ( Need to rewatch DS9!)
Star Trek: Discovery has gone through a bit of drama lately as the showrunners of the series, Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts, were recently fired due to the abusive work conditions that they put their writing staff through.
Alex Kurtzman has since replaced them as the showrunner of the show and he just signed a new deal with CBS. A $25 million deal which will be part of a five-year plan to develop more Star Trek series for the network. There are currently six projects that are apparently currently in early development, one of them includes a sequel to The Next Generation series with Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Captain Picard!
First, Variety reveals details on the following four series that are in development:
Those all sound great, but I'm most excited for this possible Next Generation sequel series that was reported by The Hollywood Reporter! The report says:
- A teen-oriented series set at Starfleet Academy from Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz, the duo behind the recent Dynasty reboot and Marvel’s Runaways adaptation.
- A limited series with a currently confidential plot.
- A limited series based around the beloved character Khan, from the original Star Trek and the classic film The Wrath of Khan—something that’s been rumored for a while as being spearheaded by Wrath of Khan director Nicholas Meyer.
- An animated series with another currently confidential plot.
The new deal comes as rumblings about another Star Trek series, featuring Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Star Trek: The Next Generation's Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, have been heating up. Sources say Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman, who left Discovery after season one, are attached to the Stewart-led reboot. CBS TV Studios declined to confirm the Stewart project as sources say a deal is far from completed and may not happen despite the fact that the actor recently teased his potential return to the franchise.
@Raoul, can you rename this thread to just Star Trek? I believe that's how it begun. Would be nice to have one general ST thread.
And with that in mind...
Maybe this time they do it right?

Thanks.
Not sure how I feel about TNG, but I'd prefer their own show, rather than Picard showing in STD.

Some tertiary characters from the TNG world would be fantastic. A data like character, a child of Riker/Troy, a new Klingon, a new Q figure etc. That entire period on the timeline is ripe for story line expansions from the original TNG
They could mix up a few of the people from DS9, Voyager and TNG for a sequel. I'd watch Captain Wesley Crusher* and a crew of Seven of Nine, Worf, the Doctor, some new Dax.
*Not really, he can die in the pilot and get replaced by a returning Sisko.

AFAIK Michael Dorn is the only one of those actors that's still enthusiastic for more. Sisko has totally distanced himself from Trek, and I don't know if the others (Jeri Ryan, Robert Picardo) want more.
Most important addition would be getting Braga back into the saddle and bringing back writers like Coto and Sussman. The year long themes during the final 2 seasons of Enterprise were epic.

I've never actually watched Enterprise (first few eps and that's it). Was a massive TNG, DS9 and Voyager fan but it never really grabbed my attention. Worth starting again?
As much as I'd love to see Seven in that uniform, she's probably into her 50s by now and not at all interested in squeezing into it again. I see Picardo popping up in various roles (including a fan made Trek thing as the Doctor) so he would be gettable I reckon.
First season of Enterprise was a total disaster - horrible writing which resulted in the writing team getting sacked by Braga. He and Berman then took more of a lead writing role along with fresh blood from the outside and season two was much better. Then in season 3 and 4 Manny Coto came on board and things went to an entirely new level. If you have haven't seen season 2, 3, and 4 they are on Netflix. Well well worth a watch if you love classic Star Trek.
