Why are we now targetting players Liverpool rejected?

Endlessly preparing a bid will be next.Oh boy! Monitoring AND on the radar!?
Get in!
Casemiro just needs less games and he'll be fine. This seems like a very smart signing. Can replace Case in the smaller games and go alongside him in the tough ones.
Endlessly preparing a bid will be next.
“He wants to go to the top, you are not going to trade Italy for the middle bracket of the Premier League,” Nordin Amrabat told ESPN.
“At Barcelona, he is high on the list, but you know Barca’s financial situation.”
Atletico Madrid have also been heavily linked with a potential bid for Amrabat, although again the €30m price-tag is causing problems.
“Of course you never know, it will be a strong competition when you see which names are going. But my brother now has the intention to play in the top, preferably in Spain or England, I think.
“Ten Hag is now looking for a striker, he wants that first. From there he will see what is possible. But I know that Ten Hag is charmed by my brother, he broke through under him and they have a good relationship, so who knows.”
Amrabat played 50 competitive matches under Ten Hag at FC Utrecht from 2015 to 2017.
Although he is a Morocco international, Amrabat – who turns 27 next month – was born and raised in the Netherlands.
Rabiot extended his contract just days ago thoughThat 30m probably turns into 40m. Over 4 years contract, that equivalent to additional 200k/wk.
We could just offer 400k/wk to Rabbiot with that included cost, and we would get superior player.
He signed a new contract with Juve ?That 30m probably turns into 40m. Over 4 years contract, that equivalent to additional 200k/wk.

Extended for a year. So most likely he'd be tempted if we offered him that kind of wage before.Rabiot extended his contract just days ago though
Yeah possible but reports suggested he chose Juventus extension over our offer. Not sure what'll happen.Extended for a year. So most likely he'd be tempted if we offered him that kind of wage before.

Hes a good player with many good qualities, but he’s not a viable back up for Casemiro, and that’s what we need. Both the stats and the eye test confirmed that he’s defensively abysmal in a deep position.Onana, Holjund and Amrabat would be a very good window with your known constraints. Don't know why you would turn your nose up at him, ithink he will surprise many if you get him.

I already answered you in the other thread, ideally Tchouameni, if not, there are a range of cheaper options like Hojbjerg, Zakaria, Gravenberch (rumours of him not happy at Bayern). However, signing literally no one is still better than signing someone who doesnt fit the profile of the job he's asked to do, just look at Fred.So who is a viable realistic back up
He's worse defensively than Fred, just look at his fbref, and we all saw what happened when EtH tried Fred at 6 at the beginning of last season.I'm thinking that he is supposed to be our McFred replacement?
He can come in as the Casemiro replacement (McT) or slot in next to Cas in games where we want more defensive stability (Fred) ?
His narrative is mainly on the United side so I think if he says it is from sources at the club.Whitwell is confirming our interest in him but I'm not sure how strong his sources are this summer.
For the long term good, I'd rather get Amrabat in for £35Mish rather then spunk £70M+ on a totally raw striker. Will be a few windows before we glean challenge, so need to stop being ripped of in the market. Gofer good value deals.I read somewhere yesterday that ETH now prioritise the signing of this guy over a new #9. Seem true imo. Not a bad deal for the price quoted I think.
Agree but it's €30-35m mate. For the long term good, I'd rather get Amrabat in for £35Mish rather then spunk £70M+ on a totally raw striker. Will be a few windows before we glean challenge, so need to stop being ripped of in the market. Gofer good value deals.
So I guess you plan to play Mctominay or Sancho up front? For the long term good, I'd rather get Amrabat in for £35Mish rather then spunk £70M+ on a totally raw striker. Will be a few windows before we glean challenge, so need to stop being ripped of in the market. Gofer good value deals.

Fred is positionally awful and the least press resistant player around so is constantly getting turned over in deep positions when he plays 6, the opposite of what you want from your deep lying midfielder. Amrabat is press resistant and from what I saw during the world cup, he was very positionally aware and mopped up everything in sight for Morocco. I'm not saying he's the next Verratti but there's plenty of reasons that he would succeed where Fred might fail. EtH is clearly trying to raise the technical floor of this squad and that straight swap would do it by quite a lot. He's worse defensively than Fred, just look at his fbref, and we all saw what happened when EtH tried Fred at 6 at the beginning of last season.
He's a younger, more press resistant, more consistent with his passing version of Fred, but if rumour of EtH wanting to play with 2 8s in front of Casemiro is true then we already have Bruno, Mount and Eriksen for those 2 postions, and Bruno never gets injured. Meanwhile, Casemiro is 31 and still has no cover.

Without a new striker we wont get top 4 this season.
What if we end up not spending alot of money on CF we end up bringing him in instead. That's our midfield sorted then.
Amrabat in
Felix on loan
Mount
Onana
Amrabat
Felix on loan
This a decent summer? New owners come in then we go big for CF next window.
From a technical/creative point of view. Amrabat was the heartbeat.Wasn't Ounahi the real star of that Moroccan world cup midfield?
I remember him having excellent technique and being everywhere.
