So...what could Van Troll's Surprise be!? | LVG: "not a striker - it's something else"

Would not want that cocky, ageing dickhead.

His goal scoring stats are sensational though.

This is such a load of old tosh, LvG is having a laugh at our expense, why after the last year of saying I won't speak about transfers, or I'll only talk to Woodward about this -'you know that' - would he purposely start leading us on, what is the motivation?

He's up to something else I'm just not sure what.

lot of things point to him.

would definitely be a surprise, given we haven't been linked thus far at all and given his relationship with LVG
PSG holding onto Cavani
Ibra has been making noises about leaving
One year left on his deal
Played pretty much everywhere except England

given his age perhaps he wouldn't expect to start every game. he might actually bring out the best in Rooney if there's a credible challenger to the no 9 spot.

Cant possibly be Zlatan. Cant imagine a more oil and water pair than Van Gaal and him. It wont be Zlatan.

Would Zlatan be OK with sitting on the bench on a regular basis? I doubt it.
I presume he started every game if fit at PSG last year?

It's not going to be Zlatan, he's been critical of Van Gaal in the past and surely one of the reasons we got rid of RvP was due to age + wages, why would we then sign someone even older and on even more money?

Because when you're about to unleash a huge signing and make a big statement of intent you try and give it as much hype as possible?

It's the fact he's changed tact that leads me to believe there must be something colossal coming and Woodward may have instructed him to unleash the muppetery.

And dealing with the scumbag Mino Raiola.

Difference with Zlatan is that he can still produce. Not saying all this is true. Could you imagine if they build all this up and it is Hunterlaar or Charlie Austin?

Oh yeah his scoring stats are still insane especially given his age but it would be mental signing a 33 year old and expecting him to adjust to the prem and produce on a regular basis for us. Given the window we've had so far where the players coming in all seem to be fairly logical signings, this one would fly in the face of logic.

LvG seems like the kind of person to pull some well-you-media-weren't-calling-so-and-so-a-striker-now-were-you type of chicanery.

Just saying it might apply to the Pedro/Muller situation if there's any truth in those stories.

Di Maria to PSG, Zlatan and Pedro to United. The only crinkle being that Zlatan trashed Van Gaal in his autobiography.

The Swedish journo / ghost-writer of that autobiography, recently admitted that he in fact wrote quite alot of that book & most of the major quotes etc. were not Zlatan's, but his interpretation of what he maybe meant, or was thinkin..

Just don't agree at all, the doing of the massive signing and all that will come with it is statement enough, the hype that will follow will go on long enough.

The issue for me is the lack of a name, when Madrid were chasing Bale everyone knew and it slowly built until they go him, the same with Barca and Suarez.

I agree that there's something behind him saying this stuff, but I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be disappointed when/if we found out what.

It's Gary Goals.

Who is the striker the media has written about? It seems like van LVG is commenting on a specific player mentioned by the media (whoever that is) - not every single player who has been linked with us. The mystery striker could very well be someone whom he have been linked to.
