Old Trafford side strongly linked with move to finally capture long term target.
WESLEY SNEIJDER last night opened the door for a cut-price £11million January move from Inter Milan to Manchester United or Tottenham.
The Inter superstar has been frozen out at the San Siro after refusing to accept a £1.6m-a-year pay cut.
He has run out of patience and demanded a move, putting pressure on the Italians to accept a low fee or pay his lucrative deal until 2015.
Sneijder, 28, said: “It’s clear it is the best for everyone concerned that in January I am transferred.”
Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has left Sneijder out of the team.
But Inter’s £40m valuation and his astronomical £10m-a-year wages proved a stumbling block 18 months ago.
This could be United’s big chance to capture one of the world’s great midfielders — but if they pass it up then Spurs will be waiting to pounce.

This source points out that Wesley Sneijder could well be the perfect replacement for veteran Paul Scholes and the door does appear to be open to a move by Sir Alex Ferguson to capture a long term target.
The Inter Milan man wants out after being frozen from the Nerazzurri first team and would probably jump at the chance of a move to Old Trafford.
Though Ferguson stated that he wouldn’t be bringing in any new players this month it’s entirely possible that the chance to sign the 28 year old Dutch international may be too much of an opportunity for the Scot to pass up on. The fact that national team colleague Robin Van Persie is present in his squad could act as a further motivating factor for the former Ajax and Real Madrid man to push for an Old Trafford switch.
Sneijder had an excellent first season at the San Siro, winning a treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League titles in Jose Mourinho’s final season in charge of the Italian giants, however things have not gone according to plan over the past two and a half years.
Inter Milan have struggled for form and a number of manager’s have come and gone and the club even missed out on a Champions League berth. However new boss Andrea Stramaccioni has the club back on track but has done so largely without Sneijder.
Man United could well do with freshening up their midfield and the addition of a creative talent like Sneijder could well assist in their pursuit of major honours and the Inter Milan man would be available for Champions League action this term.
