Sneijder to Galatasaray?

Him and Van Persie don't get on though do they?

Not to mention the fact this is bollocks.

In that big gaping hole in the middle of the park. Think if we are going to a 433 he could easily play in the 3 or at the top of the diamond in a 442. Would be a massive improvement over any of Giggs Scholes Young or Fletcher and still a cut above Kagawa Anderson and Cleverley.

:wenger:

Have you watched him play recently? Did you watch Kagawa for Dortmund? Over the last two seasons there's no contest.

Can't we just sign him to stop the rumours - I am tired of the endless Sneijder-saga

To be honest Sneijders transfer price right now would be not a penny more than 4.5 Million more or less if even that considering his age, injury record and the type of wages he would hope to get and no one apart from the Russian teams would be willing to even pay half of what he is looking for so I wouldnt be surprised if he headed off to Russia or China or the USA after he winds down his contract at Inter costing them millions for nothing in return as they unsuccessully try to boot him out.

So not only are the press and transfer muppets wanting to beat this dead horse into dust, they are actually trying to take the dust and pound it so much that they actually split the dead horses atoms.

You believe this? He is probably the best passer of a ball in the world. Get him fit and he is miles ahead of Kagawa. That's no slight on Kagawa but he is still to reach WS levels.

Every time I see us being linked with Sneijder it reminds me Battlestar Galactica's 'all of this has happened before and will happen again' stuff.

SAF was going to sign Hazard and Kagawa and he usually remains keen on the players that get away.

------------------De Gea------------------
Rafa---------Rio-----Smalling----------Evra
----------Carrick------------Clev-----------
-----------------Sneijder-------------------
------Kagawa--------------Rooney---------
------------------RVP----------------------

I should coco.

Never going to happen, he's 28, notoriously injury prone and on massive money. Hazard, Kagawa and Moura were 5-8 years younger when we were looking to sign them and are pretty comfortable out wide. Sneijder has made his name playing behind a striker, a position where we are already very well stocked. It'd probably improve us but the improvement wouldn't be enough to justify the outlay, nor would it be in an area we should be prioritising for improvement.

This Sneijder bollocks is bollocks. We needed a world class player and we got RVP, so thats done. Now we just need a battler in midfield. I recommend Stoke's Ryan Shawcross.

2014 First Choice

De Gea
Rafael Smalling Evans Sum1
Jones
Shawcross Anderson
Rooney Hernandez Van-Persie

I'm not sure if Clevlerley will be a world class player by then but if so play him instead*. If we change Ryan's name to Sure-Cross it should give him the confidence to play like Beckham and allow us to play a 4-4-2:

De Gea
Rafael Smalling Evans Sum1
Sure-Cross Jones Anderson Rooney
Hernandez Van-Persie

Also think of the sponsorship possibilities.

*Edit - Instead of Anderson not Ryan.

VP played 38 games last League season from a possible 38 and has made 13 this season from a possible 13, perhaps he's over his injury problems. Sneijder on the other hand played 20 League games last season from a possible 38, and has played 3 from a possible 13 this season. In any case, even if VP is still a crock (which there's a fair probability of), one old, injury prone, albeit world class player earning £200,000+ is more than enough.

I'd much rather him now than 18 months ago myself. Couldn't care less about the age bollocks, the only problem was the fee, his wages and his ego. He thought he was one of the very best players in the world after that CL and World Cup campaign but I'm sure he's had an ego check following his Holland and Inter embarrassments and his wage demands should tie in with that. After the kind of success he had in 2010 there had to be worries about his hunger and I think he showed those worries were justified following his performances and attitude over the next few months, but he could well be hungrier than ever now. This'll be his last big chance. And of course our midfield's in an even worse state than it was back then. Plus Sir Alex has experimented with our setup more this year than any time I can remember in the last decade so I have a lot less doubts about how we'd fit him in. If Inter are desperate enough to get him off their wage bill that they'll sell him for a reasonable fee and he's desperate enough for some success that he'll take a wage cut then I'm on board, personally. He is injury prone but as long as we can get a reasonable deal then it's a risk worth taking now, IMO.

agree 100%. I'd be surprised if it happened but he is a quality player and if the price is right then he'd be a welcome addition

Where on earth would we play him though? He's not really a midfielder is he?

Yeah he's not gonna come and play centre mid and with Kagawa now it doesn't look like there's a spot outwide. Would be very surprising if we were in for him now.

Possible in a 4231 formation he'd be one of the three. Plus if the Gaffer is willing to play Scholes in a 442 then I could see him playing there also. Also at the top of a diamond or left of a tight 4. He would give us real class if he was fit what a player he is when on his game.

Fergie has a tendency to go back for players he likes and if everything we read and heard about the interest then wouldn't be a massive surprise. Do I want non plussed but I would get excited if he signed.

I'm on of wes' biggest supporters on these boards but not a chance he would survive 20 mins in a 442 in the premiership.

Scholes atleast attempts to play on the defensive side and put his boot in, wes lets that side of the game completely go past him.

I think he would be fecking magic for us in our European campaign and someone of his quality not being cuptied is rare, but you have to put him in a specific tactics and remit to succeed.
