Sneijder to Galatasaray?

You'd have to be mad to think Sneijder at his best wouldn't be good enough for us. But from what you read in the press, his wage demands scuppered a move to us and he hasn't played well for a couple of years, so there are no guarantees you'd be getting a player who's going to turn it on.

Also from what you hear he has quite an ego and can be a problem in dressing rooms, and of late so many of our players have spoken about how good the team spirit is. It would be a massive risk to mess with that.

Don't know about this. He was the only Dutch superstar who wasn't criticize for his behavior in EURO and the reports said that he tried to make the team United, but failed to do so because other star players like RVP or Robben created groups within the team.

Yeah and in the past few years we definitely seem to be preferring our recruits to have a decent personality and attitude.

I thought this fecker was supposed to make a decision on Saturday. Is he seriously going to drag it out till the end of the window? Get it over with already.

Haha, Sneijder likes it this way. We United fans should know.

So it seems he still has a bit of ambition left. He's possibly hoping a sugardaddy club like City, Chelsea or PSG comes in for him and offers him football at the highest level and a 200k+ p/m salary.
40m last year, 8m this year. Feck off Inter.

According to her official twitter, his attention whore wife would love to move to Istanbul btw.

I hate him, with a passion. A cnut of the highest order. I'd take him for 8 million though.

So Zaha is one of the players we're looking at? Just one of them!

It's on, cocks out.

Inter President Massimo Moratti has “nothing to say” to Wesley Sneijder, as his stalling gives Spurs and Manchester United a chance to beat Galatasaray.

The Nerazzurri have agreed a fee with Galatasaray for some time, but Sneijder continues to stall on making a decision and today declared he might not be clear on his future until January 31.

“The pressure being put on me is annoying,” the midfielder told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It’s just that after all that I have done I don’t want to feel the way I do, almost forced to make an important life decision in a short space of time. It’s got nothing to do with money.”

Inter President Moratti was asked about the comments today and replied: “I have nothing to say to Sneijder. We are having a dialogue between professionals.

“He says we’re rushing him? Fine,” laughed Moratti.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Tottenham and Manchester United are renewing their interest in the Dutch midfielder.

Liverpool had already stepped up with a proposal, but the Daily Mail suggests more Premier League clubs are ready to take advantage of the situation.

Galatasaray have revealed the size of the offer accepted by Inter Milan for Wesley Sn

Couldn't see this posted....
An agreement between Gala and Inter has been in place for a few days, but no transfer has been finalised.

Sneijder is yet to commit to a deal, with the Holland international said to be stalling as he waits on other offers.

A number of Premier League sides are said to be interested, including Liverpool, and the leading clubs in England are unlikely to have been put off by Inter's valuation.

Gala remain hopeful that Sneijder will agree a switch to Turkey, but they have made it clear that there is only so long they are prepared to wait before turning their attention elsewhere.

"We'll wait another three or four days for Sneijder," said Gala president Unal Aysal.

"If the deal collapses, we have alternatives. The figures quoted in the media are wrong. Our deal with Inter is worth €7.5million (£6.2m).

"The player knows our proposal. Inter are now calculating things with him. Our offer for his wages is below €5.5million. It is also true that our coach Fatih Terim wants Sneijder - he is the first name on the list.

"I see no reason why the transfer should not go through. Even if it does collapse, it won't be the end of the world."

Very small fee all things considered, I'm not saying go for him, but I am not sure of the wages being offered as its below €5.5 million, but over how many years?

So Inter must be subsidising his wages then?

He'd probably want a 3/4 year deal. Still, at the prices quoted, and with Fergie seemingly so interested in him last year, it's strange we haven't made a move. Either the whole story was complete bollocks, or Fergie has completely gone off him.

Or we signed someone who plays his position.

Wow, how his stock has fallen. Galatasary publicly saying they have made a low offer with relatively low wages and they're not too fussed if he doesn't accept.

I think Turkey's tax rate is around 10% less than Italy. If that's true then an offer of around 105k Euros a week from Galatasaray would be equivalent to around 125k Euros at Inter Milan. I can't imagine he's on much more than that at Inter (according to BBC he's on 115k Euros per week right now at Inter, with a 1m Euro yearly bonus = around 135k euros).

I would be happy to pay him that much, only per game or per game he reaches a certain perfomance level... (I know it would never happen) but this is the only circumstance I would want this game sulking prick. Top player but my god, what a mercenary, lower your demands, put the effort in and he would still be sought after, look at Giggs and Scholes..

I don't want the kid now, years too late.

I've read much higher than that, the most common figure is around £160,000, though others like the Mail say £200,000 which admittably seems a bit high.

I think he's on more than 115,000 euros personally. He's been one of the highest paid players in the world since he signed that new contract.

So Inter are still paying him his new and improved wages and isn't playing him at all? Absolutely poor management there

Wouldn't surprise me hugely if thats the case. I was wet at the thought of us signing him 18 months ago but not at the wages he was reported to be looking for.

If the deal fell through because he demanded massive wages then it's quite plausable that Fergie went off him, the fact that he's done very little on the pitch in recent times would hardly reignite his interest either.

That said at 6-7m and 100k a week or there abouts I'd probably still take him, we're very reliant on Carrick in MF and while I know he's not really a 'Carrick' he would give us another option in the centre with Fletcher probably not going to be a regular starter again, Anderson's luck with injuries, and the odds being that Scholes will retire this summer, an injury to Carrick and we could end up being very short of options.

Fergie won't have looked twice at him since he found out exactly what sort of media courting, self centred egot he is. Couple it with his injuries and lack of any sort of sustained form for the last two years and he won't have any interest.

Calm down Mrs Ferguson!!!

We dodged a massive bullet 18 months or so. Excellent work by Fergie or Gill or whoever who pulled the plug on Wesley.

I couldn't give a ratfukk who wastes their money on Sneijder now.

There's still a chance he'll end up here... :nervous:

Not, IMHO, at the wages Wesley wants and in his mind deserves.

I never said Wesley wasn't a great footballer on his day, but he had a chance to make a deal for United work and he insisted on a deal that didn't work for us. Given that we've brought in Kagawa and the emergence of Cleverley and the occasional use of Rooney in a ACM role I really don't see Fergie pushing for or agreeing to a deal for Wesley unless it's at bargain basement fee/wages.

I suppose you never say never, but it seems very unlikely that Fergie would do this one at this time.

I don't see why Wesley is a bad guy for not wanting to take a pay cut. He is eager to play for Inter. They just don't want to pay him what they contracted to pay him.

If the option is between him and Lampard, I'd still take Sneijder. But ideally, we should be looking for a 'hungry' player, not one looking for his last payday or just want high salary.

Now that he's been humbled and put in his place with his percieved value only getting him as high as Galatasaray, I think if we made an offer of 120 000 a week, he'd jump at the chance to join us. Not to mention, the transfer fee is less than what it cost us to sign Bebe.

I don't care either way, but I do think if he joins someone like Liverpool or Tottenham he'll do a Van der Vaart and perform very well and we'll be on here questioning why we never signed him for such a low fee.

Tbf if we could get him for under 10mil then he's worth a punt, even if he doesn't fit in that well I can't see his value dropping that much or him bein so poor no one would take him at a price where we would make a big loss. The wages might be big but I'm sure we can get a little discount esp if he wants to stay at the top. But not gonna lose any sleep if we don't sign him.

Come on Caf...I know you want it!

Joking. The cnut had his chance but priced himself out of a move. Good riddance to us.

He'd be a decent gamble for Spurs/Pool or even Arse though.
