Six Nations 2016

Turned it off :( This is how you guys must've felt on Thursday.

Itoje is dominating out there. I really can't remember when I last saw a half of rugby where we've dominated Wales to this extent, how many meaningful attacks have the Welsh had? The score is flattering, should've had another few tries.

First meaningful attack for Wales, big call on the scrum.

Feck. Someone explain to me if the eye gouge came before the Dan Cole pen, why wasn't Dan Cole allowed to come back on?

I'm just glad all those people with 1 Welsh great great grandma who have never been to Wales don't get to pipe up on Facebook now.

I know so many Welsh people, whatsapp time.

Haven't seen it again, but I think Webb was clean through.

Hugely impressive from England for 60 minutes there and superb fightback from the Welsh. Great game to watch I thought - well reffed and allowed to flow largely.

I thought Woodward was spot on when he said that the changes we made fecked us up. That and Wales simply going for broke made it far too nervy at the end. We should have been out of sight with Brown butchering the chance he created himself and Cole not being given his score. Narrow margins between good and great.

As an England fan you have to be enthused about Jones' impact on the setup and the way we are progressing. Let's hope Paris is equally entertaining.

Great win for England. Wales came back in to it but I think it was a combination of fatigue, the yellow card, subs at the wrong time and a bit of complacency allowed Wales back in to it. North was clearly in touch but how Francis wasn't carded, it was a terrible call. Odd that the 4th official said we've only one angle so we can't decide yet it's obvious the angle they had was clear. Last 10 should have been 14v14.

Anyway, Itoje what a player he's gonna be. Next week I'd keep the same squad maybe Clifford in at 7. I'd release Man Utd back to his club I know he made a big hit at the end and was covering as Eng had 14 men but looks a few games short of fitness to me.

I think all of the other nations would cover Itoje right now. England has the most exciting young players. If we could cobble together a team from the 6N, maybe the northern hemisphere could beat NZ :D

Good discussion actually - I reckon we could pretty much call the team of the tournament right now. Nominate CJ Stander from Ireland, I'd have to have a good think about it after that though.

What impressed me most was our line speed in the first hour. Wales were unable to create a meaningful chances in the first half and that was because they never had a chance to settle, it was balls to the wall from the off. Better finishing and it could've/should've been game over after 40 minutes.

Add an aggressive turnover aspect to your game and ye'd be terrifying. Blew Wales away for the majority of the match.

England have always had a big talent pool but there is a lot of great players coming through. From 1-15 so much talent. Not to mention Nathan Hughes will be an England players soon, imagine him with Billy V in the back row.

Lions tour will be interesting. If it's Gatland again I can see a similar squad to that from 4 years ago. I'd like to see Schmidt given a shot.

It's been the way for a long time. In any 6N, it should be between France and England on the basis of talent pool. Wales have very admirably bucked that trend based on their history and we've contributed too due to a once-in-a-generation set of players. England should be building towards a serious world cup tilt next time round, but ye've got to get rid of the feeble-minded. Ford and Hartley etc will always cost you.

Schmidt has lost serious ground by being too conservative with his squad. It's sad, I don't know what happens but he's gone the way of Declan Kidney.

God no! The idea of Dave Kearey and Fergus McFadden in a Lions jersey gives me shivers.

Gatland, Cotter and Jones are all ahead of Schmidt for me. I'd prefer not to go for Gatland again, not because he isn't a good coach, but because his style will break all our players again for the next 4 years. Jones would be an excellent Lions coach.

He's not being helped with the traditional strong provinces are regressing in terms of game play, management and on field results, look at foley he should be nowhere near the head job at Munster and Cullen as all at sea in Europe results have picked up for him since they got a few injured players back. Why is Eddie o Sullivan a commentator when he could be coaching one of the provinces

Foley :( A part of me feels awful for him, he seems in way over his head but doesn't know how to get out. Leinster have picked up a bit but if they had an experienced coach you'd have to imagine them being better. Is there something against O'Sullivan going back into Irish coaching? Or would he feel it an embarrasing "step down"?

Not really sure about this Marler citing thing over "racist" comments. If Samson Lee is so proud of his Gypsy heritage that he brings it up at every opportunity how can someone saying "Hey Gypsy Boy" be racist? Maybe I'm wrong but isn't it like saying "hey Welsh bloke" or "Hey English lad" - which most players would find a long way from an insult?

He's either a person of proud gypsy heritage. as he so often reminds us, or he's ashamed of it - can't have it both ways!

I don't agree. That's a similar line of thinking to saying Pakistani people should be fine with being called "Hey Paki" because they are proud of their Pakistani heritage.

The tone and content in which Market said "Hey Gypsy Boy" meant it was clearly meant as an insult.

Not really, it's the same as saying "hey Pakistani boy". Paki is a racist slur, Gypsy isn't, it's just dependent on context.

That's about the limpest insult that was thrown around in the scrum Saturday I'd hazard a guess. He didn't call him a Gippo or a Pikey he used the term that the guy uses himself.

But, I totally take your point and it's fair enough when you look at it the way you have. I think I might delete the original post before I'm accused of being racist myself or something worse.
