Television Severance (Apple TV) | Spoiler anything that has not been aired, i.e trailer content, BTS stuff

The finale is only 40 mins. I think it’s one of the successes of the show, shorter episodes.

Yeah sorry, I just default to an hour for shows rather than check lengths. It's so good though! All the weirdness aside it's really well made.

John Turturro...bravo. What a performance in episode 4. Irving my new favourite character.

Gonna need someone much smarter than me to work out what the hell Irving figured out in his dream

I was very invested in this because I did a mini fist bump when
Helena said "Do it, Seth".

What we figured out within 10 minutes of episode one.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure it was even supposed to be some twist, just a confirmation of the obvious and well the characters figuring it out, and something pre-release reviewers kinda hurt, but it's my fault for seeing that stuff.

But it led towards to a brilliant ending, really strong episode, best of all time in any season stuff.... pushing it a bit whoever said that.

That was so fecking good.

He already had it figured out. He copped the gardener thing and then when Helena was cruel to him (after he intentionally riled her up) he had it figured out. He’s clearly a very smart man. I think the dream was just him seeing an Egan on the severed floor and realising there was nothing stopping an outtie if they’re powerful enough.

Great episode but also something everyone did see coming so the reveal wasn't a shock. Still a very good episode.

First 10 mins of that I was like wtf.

Strong ending and yeah just confirming what we already knew. Hope this isn't the end of Irv though.

Was just thinking how confused would Hellie be waking up there for the first time since she went outside.

I imagine that episode would have been 100x better if you were completely unaware of all the Helena/Helly rumours

Yeah I'm not feeling all the praise for it myself. It was good but anyone paying attention was expecting the reveal. Also they delayed the following up on the reintegration cliffhanger from episode 3 (apart from a brief moment in the tent).

Also setting wise, I just prefer them in the office. Personal preference but twatting about in the snow left me a bit cold. Pun intentional.

Great ep, great season so far.

I saw the first season a few years back, and liked it, but do remember feeling it dragged quite a bit. This one feels more focused and is delivering in every episode.

I've only just caught up with season 2 so I've been avoiding anything to do with the show. But I thought it was obvious from the first episode of this season that Helena was her "Outie" and it was an intentional plot point.

During the last half of the latest episode, I actually thought there might have been a twist where it was all a red herring and Irvin ends up nearly killing innie Helly before some enforcers swept in to save her, thus revealing her outies identity/importance to the rest of them.

Damn wtf. I hope that’s not the end of Irv.

Think it was never meant to be some mad twist. Surely they’d know viewers would clock in after her terrible outtie story.

Yeah it was made fairly oblivious to add extra tension to every scene with her in it. Never meant to be an actual "twist". One that the viewers know and we're waiting for the characters to figure it out.

That was a bit of a trippy episode to begin with but I really enjoyed it, strong pay-off and I'm looking forward to the next one.

If there's any show not to binge, it's Severance. It's pretty much - actually, literally - designed to be discussed between episodes. It's genuinely part of the experience.
I have been having this discussion, I think most shows are better enjoyed if one does not binge them. I expect shows to go back to being doled out slowly over time, not only because it builds hype but also because in this era it feels more important to make people wait. Fine dining vs fast food.

Bit in the lift was my favourite moment.

"What did you call it? The Bullshit Gazette?"

I like the slow reintegration of Mark which is what I put down to him being an arsehole for most of the episode.

Must admit, even as someone who likes the show, I can't see too many reasons (apart from bags and bags of money - which doesn't seem to be the case) that anyone would want to voluntarily work for an incredibly shady organisation like Lumon, much less get severed to do so.

Isn’t it implied they basically own the town? Probably not much else available there. Marks house for example is owned by Lumon. Safe to say they’re the best option for a lot of people.

the severed part has been explained for each character multiple times?

Yeah, exactly. A lot of assumptions on world building which don't necessarily make logical sense. Anyway, small nitpick but just feel the show borders on going up its arse a bit.

Maybe they’ve got a really good dental plan.

So Hellie's pregnancy gonna be the cliffhanger right?

Anybody else waiting to binge the whole season in 1 go? It's a good show but something about it doesn't lend well to weekly watches for me

This is quite possibly the most "weekly watch" show ever, besides Lost. It's a mystery, and why would you want to deprive yourself of the experience of slowly unraveling it along with everyone else?
