Television Severance (Apple TV) | Spoiler anything that has not been aired, i.e trailer content, BTS stuff

What kind of psychopath goes into the Severance discussion thread on the day of a new episode that they haven't watched? If they want to get spoiled, let them. If it's a matter of people forgetting, then someone can edit the thread title to include "new episode" or whatever, or using threadmarks, but that's going above and beyond.
Great post

It’s the notifications, and brains operating on automatic. You get that little dopamine hit when there’s something waiting for you to go read, by the time your conscious brain has caught up, you’ve seen something you didn’t intend to and can potentially get something ruined.

Milchick running to punish you for being so bad at searching

That's the gif I was looking for the other day. Runs like the T1000.
Please enjoy all posts equally.

Anyways spoilers be damned I think there's gonna be twists with both Irving and Hellie in this show. Haven't seen much talk about these two compared to Mark and Dylan but...

I think severance floor Hellie is obviously outie Hellie but her motivations are not what we initially thought. I think her outside life is awful (her dad is Musk level scum) and she's jealous of her innie for finding a real connection with someone and it will be interesting how that plays out with Mark's outie as the season progresses.

Irv seems like he's colluding with his inner self and working with someone or some organisation on the outside. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a reverse of the Hellie situation in respect of their characters.

In this episode you had Burt following Irving. Could be explained by the fact we had last seen Irving banging on his door, and he’s trying to figure out more about irving

We still don’t know what happened with them after Irving woke up or what he said to Burt I guess.

Also I’m sure at some point we will find out what Milchik said to innie Dylan after he tackled him.

Yeah decent ep but basically just confirmed what most felt happened after the S1 finale.

Line of the ep for me was “Perhaps Cobelvig could be a helpful nomenclature?”

I loved that episode.

Yeah same. Not much is happening but still so gripping.

It did feel like Mark had moved past things till Milchik turned up again and brought up his wife. Intentional to get him to come back?

Thoroughly enjoyed episode 2. There’s a lot of things this show does well but the cinematography is brilliant.

Another incredible episode. I think this show is gonna knock the wire off of 1st place in my all time faves

I forgot who that lady at the end was? Also how does she know how to do that experiment?

She was a surgeon for Lumon but became a whistleblower of sorts. She reintegrated Petey. She’s also a stone cold murderer

Bit of a slow burn but lots to unpack still, and a great ending.

It does annoy me when stuff like outie Dylan and his wife only briefly mentioning this insane thing that happened right before she leaves for work as if it’s nothing happens. Like come on

They’re making the Helena/Helly R thing less obvious now as it felt a lot more Helly R in that one but yet she was still being super weird with Mark, which now makes me think they awakened her on the outside and have offered her some sweeteners in exchange? Maybe? But still it’s most likely Helena

I couldn’t work it out at all whether it was Helly r or Helena.

The Dylan outtie storyline is the least interesting by a mile, just seems like episode filler rather than something we are meant to pay attention to.

At times a slow burner alright, but then in fairness I didn't expect them to already have the reintegration for Mark. One scene it was offered to him, the next it was happening. I expected that to be next episode or the one after. Looking forward to next week now.

I think it could be more important than it seems. The way it was going to me is that she likes innie Dylan more than outie Dylan. She knows her husband is a bit of a loser and this innie version might be a cooler version of him. .

I also read up a bit on the actress playing Gretchen, very much doubt she signed onto this series for an insignificant role

Yeah I wasn’t super keen on how mark went from shouting “shes alive” then being convinced it was in reference to his niece, now all of a sudden he immediately wants to be reintegrated.

Pretty obvious it's Helena...

Got impression, they've cut the cringy humour scenes a bit, and It goes into darker storytelling.

I think it’s most likely Helena but as some have said she’s not spying, she’s doing it herself because she’s led a secluded life and wants the intimacy with Mark.
I think she's gone in with the intention of redeeming herself in front of daddy Eagan, and now will have a change of heart over the course of the season.

There was a reviewer who got access to season 2 that claims the next episode is one of the best in tv history. Can’t wait

Not gonna lie. Wish shows would stop doing this pre-release review stuff. What's the point of throwing it back to weekly viewing and build up - only to let reviewers get a binge experience to review. It's a totally different way of viewing, therefor the review is a bit null and void.

I’m sure it’s just a way to cop some favour with the reviewers.

I doubt it. Execs aren’t stupid, they know when they have a winner on their hands. I’m sure Apple knew it would gain stellar reviews which would then help with hype and then subscriptions and ratings.

Just had a rewatch of episode 3 because I think I was a bit merry when I originally watched it. All I could remember was Brienne of Tarth.

The integration at the end is really gonna ramp things up from here on in. I'm wondering what happens if he gets caught out at work as well. Total memory wipe? Can't wait until the weekend anyway.

In other news I got a macrodata refinement sign for my home office. Will wait for the missus to quiz me on wtf that's all about.

Class

Visiting my folks at the weekend and rewatched the last 3 episodes of season one as mum was watching it. Despite knowing what was coming it is still a great watch. Last episode is an incredibly well crafted hour of pure tension.

The finale is only 40 mins. I think it’s one of the successes of the show, shorter episodes.
