Thought Crespo would go earlier, great pick.
I was between Crespo or Signori, but went for the latter.

errrm you picked the player for tuppet...
Matthäus and Brehme were there just as long (short) as he was, and they were very much at the top of their game in the early 90s.@Cal?
Just out of curiosity mate, why did you pick Klinsmann? He’s probably my favourite ever player but he only had two good seasons at Inter and the first was technically only half in the 90s.
I’m suprised he wasn’t picked sooner too. Once all the shiny strikers went he was top of my list and I had my fingers crossed he would make it down to me.I wanted to go for Zola ahead of Crespo but with the strikers left and with 4 out of 6 managers below me having a Number 10, went for Crespo hoping the last two wouldn't go for him.
Was never going to happen but wishful thinking
Its a shame he is picked this late. He should have long gone by round 2 or early round 3 keeping the context in mind.

89-90 doesn't count@Cal?

I watched an insane amount of Klinsmann’s games when I was younger and I personally don’t think 89-92 were his peak years.Matthäus and Brehme were there just as long (short) as he was, and they were very much at the top of their game in the early 90s.
I loved watching him when I was a kid. Great finisher and he scored some beautiful overhead kicks.who likes klinsmann ffs
We're like those kids playing D&D in the basement. The game is as good as our imaginationThis looks like fun but i don't understand how the matches will work?
I mean actually arranging the matches could be a bit tricky, especially if one of yer players is like president of Liberia n that.
What kind of simulator is used?
Both the German and Dutch trio peaked in the late 80s. I'd argue they all had strong 90-91 seasons in line with that peak, but they fizzled out (or got perma-crocked) thereafter.I watched an insane amount of Klinsmann’s games when I was younger and I personally don’t think 89-92 were his peak years.
As the 89-90 season doesn’t count in this draft, Klinsmann will be assessed for just the 90-91 and 91-92 seasons. Neither him nor Inter were very good in 91-92.
Nice. You are making great use of the benefit of double picks.DIEGO SIMEONE
VLADIMIR JUGOVIC
That would make a pretty shit original Netflix series. We're like those kids playing D&D in the basement. The game is as good as our imagination
I'd argue that Matthaus 90/91 version is by far the peak version of him at club level. He won the FIFA WPOY in 1991 based on that not the WC the year before. Both the German and Dutch trio peaked in the late 80s. I'd argue they all had strong 90-91 seasons in line with that peak, but they fizzled out (or got perma-crocked) thereafter.
How people will factor that in is anyone's guess. I'll definitely water them down a bit, but it shouldn't be a case of straight dismissal or "making up for others voting based on actual peak".

I would watch it. I think we should call it ‘Peaky Drafters’ though. That would make a pretty shit original Netflix series.
Instead of Stranger Things you could call it Strange Things, starring Pillow as the gamemaster, Dick as the one always arguing the game is badly designed, Gio as the serial winner with a walkie talkie, Theon as the kid outside with the other walkie-talkie, and anto as the perv having a quiet wank in the corner.
We even have a Lord Sinister that grows stronger as everyone makes stupid decisions.
Have the same issue but without being able to get such complementary pairs (not complaining, waiting 30 picks is a bummer).@antohan thanks but it's tough getting scraps in more attacking positions

Sure he didn't have a long career during the 90's there, but was definitely the outstanding player in the early 90's as well and the best Inter player at the time.
Think he missed only couple of games during those two seasons and had as many games as the likes as Ronaldo and Van Basten for example who were riddled with injuries.
Two years in a row at that time and 66 games in two years is pretty strong indication of his actual level in the early 90's.
You do have a point with some players having their best up to the 90/91 season, but I don't believe Matthaus was one of them as he definitely peaked in 90/91 at club level.
Rijkaard won the best player of the season for 1991-92. Van Basten was more than decent too. Gullit took the biggest hit in the 90s
