Why on earth can Ole not see that Brandon is just not suited to playing at LB because he is right footed, yes I agree CB should be the next priority after RW but I think it's very safe to say that Upamecano is the top target for next summer but whether we beat Bayern to him or not remains to be seen.

You could argue that Williams is not good enough. Although my opinion is that as a back up left back, he’s done well, and well enough that we can prioritise other areas.

But, to rule him out seemingly just because he’s right footed is wrong. I’m in no way saying he’s in the same class as Irwin, but being right footed is not a barrier to being a left back, as Irwin has very clearly demonstrated.

Sounds like a mouthpiece article.

Also, I believe that managers at real madrid don't make transfer decisions. They almost always have very little input if not none.

Such a shame he wants the loan back to Sevilla just so he can play for Real in the future, what if you don't get that opportunity then Sergio

I was really hopeful this way going to happen after the cope and ser reports but if the latest Marca article is true, it's not happening.

Just a Little turd that will remain lodged in the bowels of Madrid, never seeing the light of day of their first team.

If he has his heart set on Real Madrid, fair play to him, better that we know that now rather than discover it some time in the future.
We only want players that want to be here.

Won't Pay FC

30m is already a steal, the other promising young FB Madrid sold this summer went for 45m

some fans will probably hammer Ed and the club for not just paying up, but I'm fine with being smart in these times. Ed can't win anyway, if he just did pay up for players he'd be criticized too.

that being said, I still hope we get him.

£25m for a top left back is a steal. I can only assume we won’t pay that because it’s gonna take the whole budget to get Sancho.

Would you prefer Reguilon, Thiago & Bale oh loan for about £55-60m but about £700k a week wages or Sancho for £110m but about £250k a week wages.

Bale is a bad footballer now. He hasn't played consistently for too long and when he did he got injured half the time. Substitute Bale for someone better then I might be interested in taking the first option if that means we try again for Sancho next summer.

tough one. I think getting three players instead of one actually helps us more, but I'm completely opposed to the idea of getting Bale. Big yes to Reguilon and Thiago though.

Why would he be criticized for spending 25m on a promising LB. There can't be more straightforward transfer than this. Unless of course we are not after him and it's all rumors.

Everyone still believes marca propaganda?

Shame on the lot of you. I can’t imagine Regulion has said he’s happy to keep waiting at the age of 23 when they’ve spent a wedge at his positon.

Stay away from Pogba and Martial

I'm looking forward to his arrival. He reminds me of a more motivated, albeit less technically gifted, version of Memphis. You can see where he has a lot to work on, namely his dribbling and defensive abilities, before he can comfortably be called "better" than our former Dutch winger, but I'm sure that given time he'll come good.

Unfortunately that motivation seems reserved for Madrid. This has got Dybala written all over it, which is probably why the club hasn't gone all in.

Please stop.

"why do we always overpay"

**United start to negotiate to get the best possible price and not overpay **

"Just pay the fecking money why are we negotiating "

If this works out I kinda dig the new stingy approach we are having. Teams were just used to seeing us spend like drunk millionaires cuz well everyone knew we werent at the level we wanted to be and we had crazy money so all teams tried to take advantage of that.

Now it seems our new approach is you know what, we wont pay what you ask for, its where we draw the line, take it or leave it.
Gotta say I prefer that. We shouldnt be taken for chumps by anyone.

Well if he does want the move bad enough then will take back what I said earlier, surely we aren't going to quibble over €5m again a la Perisic in 2018

Sancho.

And this fellow isn't a "top" RB. He's being sold by Madrid but seems to have potential. Top class fullbacks tend to start for the biggest clubs. He'll have prove he is that in his next move/club.

You know that he is a left back ?

He is a leftback, and Sevilla are a very good club. About the same level as Bvb, whom our muppets want to pay €120m to for Sancho.

I am not on the Reguilon bandwagon but for about €25m, he would be a decent signing.

I mean, Madrid would be begging a player like Sancho to come back not getting rid. Maybe Regullon is very good but we need to calm down with unnecessary hype. That post makes it sound like we're getting Davies for 30 million.

Have half of you cnuts not learned from the Di Maria debacle? Get players in who want to be here and don't sign someone who doesn't want to leave Madrid, ever.

Besides, he isn't even THAT good, just a decent LB who has thrived in a system that suited him down to a tee. If he came here, a lot of the posts in this thread will be mocked, I'm sure. For 25m€, sure go for it as it's a good price for a squad player, and when it comes down to it that's what he is: a very decent squad player. But when you take in to account the buyback clause and his reluctance to come without it, I'd fecking well steer clear.

Yeh I don’t think anyone here is saying his a top RB. In fact I think no one is.

It would be ok if we needed the money to sign Sancho.

But if we don't end up signing anyone else, I wouldn't be happy if we were offered Sergio for 30m and turned it down.

Surely it's worth paying the extra €5m if it removes the buyback clause or have I interpreted it completely wrong

We won’t pay €30 million for a LB that would be an upgrade over Shaw. We shouldn’t be mocking the dippers for being skint.
