Bei...1st Jul.2009

Today an esteemed friend of Spoony whilst cavorting in a 'range of whalleys' spotted a whalley in a 'range' a 'rover' who is known as Kundun. The name of the current Dalai Lama, nicknamed Aguero, Argentinian super-player. Soccer hero to many hearts of Madrid, evil team who steal and enslave players from magical Manchester City, indefinitely bigger than local counterparts United. After heartbreak and much protein like ecotoplasm wasted on account of Benzema now of Real, sadness flooded transfer community, el Red Cafe. But Aguero great hope, but also leaves many wondering whether this was just blatant rip of great article involved Berbatov made famous by Plech. We say yes.

This thread was empty just 20 minutes ago, and now the families here:

no stories, no quotes, no agent-talk, no nothing

Yeah the only thing we've heard was his wage demands were too high for Chelsea, considering the only other is Pato whos said hes not moving this summer i think we all may have to accept the real possibility that no one else will be signed. (and is that such a bad thing? it will give the likes of Kiko and Welbeck a chance to get into the first team)

Is our existing team without Ronaldo and Tevez really going to fall out of the top four? Given that the other top teams havent strengthened either - and if we cant bring the top quality players in because its far to expensive i feel that will be the case for others

err Liverpool or Chelski's star players have hardly left, Arsenal well, maybe they'll struggle and with City and the like strengthening....maybe!
In all honesty though, I don't think we'll drop out of the top 4 as such, but you know, we'll be muchh more weaker than last season, no matter how you want to dress it up

TBH after the success we have had in the last 3 years we all knew it would end at some stage, i foolishly imagined another 10 years of dominance with our team but things change and people leave. All we can do now is rebuild and imo youth is the best way to do that atm because prices for players has become a bit of a joke and even if we do spend it will be on a untested player in the PS and most likely be young anyway.

We've all been bigging up the likes of Kiko and Welbeck so it may just be a idea to blood them in rather than spending £60m on Ribery or £40m on Aguero who are untested and in Riberys case has said he wants to play for Real...

agreed mate, am warming to the idea of a transition, blooding in the kids and throwing them into the deep end, but when it comes to crunch time, if/when Liverpool are top of the league and we're languishing 9/12 points behind them come February, are fans going to be forgiving?

Hi guys I am new here, from the other thread.
Feck it, let's continue here.

At this point, it doesn't look like there's that much choice in the matter. Just have to hope that some of these kids are as good as advertised.

I am sure fergie will sign a striker to keep the Asian and US sponsors happy!! Aguero is the only name I can think of who would be worth spending big bread. Eto'o would be very nice and would give Kiko a chance to develop but we dont sign oldies anymore aparently!! Everything seemed to go wrong once we bought Berbatov last summer!!! Is he the Veron of Fergies final era?:p
Or maybe we can just make Wolfsber and ofer for Dzeko that they simply can not refuse. He is the new shevchenko and would be worth breakin the bank for too!!

I don't want to feed the masses but.......

Aguero hates Real so there's no chance of them attempting to steal him from us

I like to think they will be (given our success the past few years) but tbh its not like a Ronaldo situation where we would throw them into the deep end by playing them all the time but we have Rooney and Berba up-top most of the time and can slowly introduce them to the main team and perhaps play them if Rooney or Berba are injuried.

May be im just seeing something more in Kiko and Welbeck because i really want them to do well at the club (for a start they want to be here...)

need a muppet wank! Is this the thread now?

Yeah but we really are clutching at straws in here at the moment, all we have is one sighting in Whalley Range, so its not looking hopeful in here.

The Benzema thread was an oasis and we still didn't get him, this thread is a desert and we've ran out of water, and camels - I feel.

we need to sign someone of quality. SAF said in an interview a while ago that he appreciated the affect a high profile signing had on the players. he saw how players were inspired and motivated by quality being added to the squad. With the loss of Ronaldo and Tevez I think those that think things will be fine and dandy with what we have are wide of the mark

Have no idea where to go then...

Latest rumours seem to corroborate with the earlier ones that Chelsea have bid for him. Be sod's law that all our main targets go to Real Madrid, and then the only one we've got left does come to England but for Chelsea instead!

If Chelsea sign him, I reckon they will win the title next season. But you never know, I do rate him very highly though.

I don't think Aguero is high enough on our list to warrant the kind of money Atletico would want.

Even with all the media noise, you can sometimes get a sense of where our real interest lies, and the list is usually a very short one. Valencia was almost a nailed on signing. And unfortunately, I think Benzema was someone we would have liked to sign as well. I do not get the same vibe with all the other names like Villa, Aguero, so it's really not likely to happen.

There was probably some initial interest in Ribery, but that would probably have been killed off by the type of negative noise Bayern is generating. At the very most, think might try to add one or two promising youngsters to the squad for development.

We might be better off holding on to the cash and see what opportunities come up over the next couple of summers, rather than buying out of desperation.

--------------Berbatov-----------
Aguero------ Rooney ----- Valencia
---------Carrick-----Fletcher

No-one is going to pay the amount they want. It is just not going to happen. I think IF aguero does leave this transfer window it is going to be for around the same fee that benzema was bought at.

im tired of this muppetry shite

i expect us to sign no one and any signing is an added bonus.

i wanted benz more because of his style. but aguero i can admit is the better footballer.

however, buying him IMO would force rooney to be lead striker for almost the rest of his career.
