I have no doubt he would prefer to move to United than Spurs. He is another French speaker that would integrate very quickly plus his international team mate Bailly is here so maybe we need to get him on the case.

There is no Bailly involvement that would change things. United doesn't wanna pay the money Spurs are willing to, at the end it's as simple as that.

I think spurs is a better move for him. Guarantied football. our Valencia is good enough at the moment.

The conviction was scrapped when he appealed.

It's important to remember that it's only procedural. At the moment, the only decision of justice is a conviction, nothing has been scrapped.

If we really want him, we'll easily outbid Spurs.
If we dont, it was never on.

I would prefer him to fight for his place and win it. Valencia is certainly not irreplaceable, he offers virtually nothing special. If I was confident in my own ability I would move to us especially for more money and to a much bigger club and then win my place. Plus Val is 32 now and with the terrible Darmian as an alternative we should be all over this, he would get plenty of games.

I guess we dont actually want him.

Can you elaborate on this, I was under the impression he won his appeal due to lack of evidence from what I've been reading. Only then could he apply for a UK visa?

Blanc insulted yes.

He hasn't said a bad word about Zlatan who said later that the media "do too much as usual"

Given the appeal, the punishment has been suspended so - as of today - he is innocent and can apply for a UK visa.

We don't know if he will win or lose the appeal

As far as I know, he just asked for a work permit on the basis that he hasn't been handed a prison sentence but the appeal hasn't happened yet, if I'm not mistaken. And like Ecstatic said the sentence is suspended, so from a procedural stand point, he is innoncent until the final decision of justice but it doesn't cancel/scrap the previous decision, it's a presumption of innocence not an actual one.

For now he is, but he's 32 and we cannot expect him to play 50+ games this season. If he should get injured then we're left with Darmian to play at RB which effectively kills any significant attacking play on that wing. He's going to need replacing in the next 12-24 months and we've got a quality player available for an absolute bargain. If we don't adequately plan for a replacement we'll end up like city who over payed for Walker, Danilo and Mendy.

We have a replacement ready, I heard he's doing well at crystal palace.

Sounds a bit risky, I'm guessing when his sppeal is heard and if his conviction stands any visa would be withdrew not to mention a possible jail sentence? This would be very unlike Levy to take such a risk and possibly why United don't wanna go for this?
Yeah, sounds like that is what'll happen.

Do visas get withdrawn for this stuff?

Even if a jail sentence was confirmed he will never go to prison, the sentence would be turned into a fine, community work or simply suspended.

I think it's more due to the fact it's a violent crime as well, may be mistaken, but I think the Home Office weight that higher in the decision.

We don't know the ins and outs of the situation, but as it stands this transfer does seem a little risky. That PSG are prepared to release a world class talent for such a low fee is evidence enough that something is amiss, not to mention the player in question currently being banned from entering GB. Definitely smell a rat on this one.

Him or Axel, everyone seems to be forgetting we're currently blessed with some outstanding young defenders. They'll need game time, not going to happen if we just buy back up players all the time.

I'd say assaulting a police officer wouldn't be easily covered up by a fine.

But....but...Trippier.

I still can't believe that Spurs fans in here think Trippier is good enough to replace Walker. Wingbacks/fullbacks are also very important roles for their system IMO, losing Walker is a big loss.

The time on his contract is short. PSG has 2 other options. PSG was rumored to inquire him about a renewal which he refused before they went after Dani Alves. It's nothing to do with some hidden bomb.

The kids better step up massively when it comes to replacing Tony V, or else this will come back to bite us in the arse.

Shame he is joining Spurs. Would have been very good addition to the team. Hopefully there is time to hijack his move like Chelsea did with Willian.
