Valencia is 31 and Jose said he can't play 2 games per week, and there will be serveral occasions we will have 2 games per week in the coming seasons, so we definitely need a RB. I don't want players like Jones or Darmian being the stand in.

What happened? Why is he in trouble? And why wouldn't he be allowed to play in England? Could someone explain this to me?

And what is the likely outcome of his trail.

So basically he doesn't then. I definitely don't see the need of another right back but from what I've heard about him, he's bit of a dickhead but is very, very talented and is available for a bargain price.

Exactly, seems like it's just a matter of taking the opportunity whilst he's available and cheap.

We were being linked with rbs earlier in the summer so I could definitely see this being true even though I do believe there are other areas more in need of investment (including lb). I'd be happy with it even though he sounds like a bit of a scumbag. Good player all the same. Still need a winger. As long as this deal doesn't impact that I'm all for it

Not sure about him but have always thought that Valencia's performance at RB is judged in the context of that being his converted position. Not sure if you compare him to 'natural' RBs at this level he's particularly outstanding, so it's an area where we could do with someone else.

That article explains it. Likely outcome of his trial is same verdict as original.

Hasn't he already been convicted? Got a two year suspended didn't he?
Two months and not suspended. If the appeal fails he'll probably be straight off to prison.

Assuming he's actually changed/matured I'd love to give him a chance here. Valencia isn't getting younger and we don't have a "true" RB anywhere else.

Based on the wholly scientific approach of watching his YouTube video he appears to rashly jump into challenges and has iffy distribution.

Doesn't Zlatan hate him?
No. He mentioned Zlatan in his insult on Blanc. In asense, saying Blanc is weakling who got dominated by the Alpha Zlatan (censored due to the nature of original lanaguage used). Hardly a insult toward Zlatan

So after he does his bid, will we be cleared to sign him?

I imagine Darmian will be out the door if this happens.

Think we'll need him at left back for the time being. Reckon it's more likely we'll loan out Fosu Mensah for the season and listen to offers for Young, which we probably won't get while he's injured.

Lots of people bleat on about needing a left back (being patient with Shaw will reap the rewards) when right back is by far a more pressing issue.

Valencia is a good option, however, after that we're left with very little in an attacking sense. He was rotated a lot last season, which gives the impression that his game time needs to be seriously managed.

Either Fosu-Mensah gets a proper shot or we bring in some serious competition for Valencia. That allows Darmian to cover Shaw exclusively at left back, with attacking impetus from the right flank irrespective of who starts.

If this guy is good and out of jail then I'm all for it.

I'm thinking he must have good reason to think he will win his appeal, otherwise why would we waste time on him?

If I am not mistaken, we have no restriction not to sign him, and make him as our player. It's the entry to England that's the problem. Let's say it's possible to sign him at this cheap price &a loan him out for the length of contract to n other league just fine.

He has since pretty much stay off trouble in his private life since, so it may help asking for forgiven. This incident was around over a year

Why bring in a guy that is an asshole? The effect on a squad can be very damaging, ref Chelsea last year.
