He isn't going to be allowed in the country. He assaulted a copper.
Correct me if im wrong but england is STILL part of the EU. As in, of this minute and until they are not its not an issue. He has already got a work permit for the EU for many years already and is protected by the same rights as you and me of free travel considering how they apply to footballers of non EU nationals.

Lets not forget our own Rojo stabbed someone and had to return for a hearing after we signed him. So its nothing new to us or english football or the UK or the EU the only real issue is if he is sent down. Im not sure how it would affect after that but Im sure his team could argue he served his time for a relitive small offence and is not a direct threat to the public.

Think about it, they allowed Mike Tyson fight in england a convicted rapist which is one of the top 3 serious offences in criminal law. There is a lot of scare mongering about this going on here.

I think we must be pretty confident he will be allowed in the country if we have agreed personal terms with the player.

So, we've got the periscope gate, assaulting police officer and being displaced by Munier.

Yeah nah, too much hassle if you ask me, guy seems a brainless plank. Plus let's not go into the 'he can mature' shit, he's 24 soon to be 25, you don't pull this type of shit at this age.

Maybe his mate Pogba will have a positive effect on him.

Bit afraid we're/'d be into a light case of Ravel here in truth. Perhaps not the ganbanger shit part but just being too thick to cut it.
Just think if Mourinho and Pogba could have a positive impact on him we could have a very good player for a fantastic price.

I don't mind if we get him but I hope TFM is going to be utilized at either CB or in CDM.

Would rather get a long term Valencia replacement in now for cheap than wait until it's horribly obvious we need a RB and get held to ransom by every club we try to deal with.

Exactly what I'm thinking, try getting him this window and hopefully he will save us a fortune in the long run.

When was periscope and assaulting an officer? Both a few years ago, right?

What has being displaced by Munier got to do with him being a 'brainless plank'?

For the price and talent level, this is a risk worth taking in my opinion. And the benefit of signing him now is that we're not putting all our eggs in this basket. Worst case, it doesn't work and we have Valencia for a year or two.

This - I am either excited or ambivalent towards transfers but this disappoints me.

Meunier is an interesting option himself. For starters he's a huge United fan and if he's indeed better than Aurier, can't see why we wouldn't go for him instead.

People often forget that PSG doesn't want to sell the players they want to keep. They don't earn money like how FM work, so they don't need profit from mere transfer fee. They, invest heavy to make a name for themselves which generate more money.

Barcelona came knocking for Verratti. Guess what PSG got pissed and went all out for Neymar. Don't poke he bear...

Aurier & PSG come to conclusion parting way is best for both so it's open door for other clubs, even at rumored relative cheap price in this market.

Who knows, he might be open to a move. At the end of the day every player has his price, as PSG will tell you themselves.
PSG would throw money at your players, or feck your transfer targets by outbidding you.

Different clubs have different policy. What you said was Juventus' policy, not PSG's.

You seriously think that PSG's pursuit of Neymar was retribution for Barca's pursuit of Verratti, and not simply because he's one of the best players on the planet?
And PSG are free to throw money at our players or outbid our targets, and vice versa. That's just business.

I believe so. PSG didn't come to negotiate for a lower price but went straight to Neymar side then ready to pay the release clause. Between clubs who keep good relationship, they would try to talk first trying to negotiate (even if it's not about lowering fee but to pay in installment). Paying release clause is last option often being used in case of untalkable target (Athletic Bilbao), which is well known deemed as disrespectful way. When dealing with Athletic Bilbao, clubs clearly tried to make it public that they attempt their best to talk, before paying the release: be it us or Bayern in the past. Similarly with Griezmann case. We could pay the release clause and had him sign before the ban or now just fine, but that should be best to avoid in this case. What PSG is doing is unusual in that sense.

Of course, PSG didn't do it without warning. Just Barcelona disrespected them by openly unsettling Verratti. PSG just repaid the favor.

Periscope and assaulting were iirc two and a year ago respectively, so he was 22 and 23. That makes him a brainless plank, not being displaced by Meunier, the latter is a bonus.

I don't think PSG function like that. Look at the Veratti saga, Barca offered a world record amount, both Veratti and his agent were basically publicly begging to go to Barca and PSG didn't even entertain the idea of a bid.

Money is no object to them, they've got an almost infinite amount.

Very talented player... certainly worth a punt if our legal advisers are confident a work permit can be maintained.

Undoubtedly he has done /said some stupid things but put it on perspective it's not like he was banging his sister in law.

At the prices being touted around when compared to Kyle walker he looks a bargain.

Hope we sign him. Always impressed when saw him play. But why they are selling him? Personal reasons? He would be upgrade to Tony.

Remember his performances against Arsenal in the CL, very good.

I'd be happy with this signing, would be good value.

no, beast because of the way he plays and because of how fit he is. my opinion of aurier wasn't made on an instagram clip mate. he's incredibly rapid and a great tackler, his athleticism is something to aspire to, that's all

Why bother adding that comment to that video, then?

 i'm not sure if serious? i said he was fit, and posted the video to highlight it, he's incredibly fit. doesn't mean my opinion of him being a beast is based on that instagram clip. what's there not to comprehend?

Judging by what people are saying on here is that he would be an absolute steal/bargain of the decade. Is he that good? Should I bother looking at some highlit reel stuff and get over-excited or can some resident caf French league fans give me some juicy info on the lad?

On form, he is very good. IMO a better version of Valencia the RB, a better defender but he has the same flaw than Valencia, his crosses are mainly poor. He has also been underwhelming since the periscope incident.

Dare I ask?

In terms of being a better defender is it specifically in tackling, positioning or just all round? I wonder if Jose is thinking of not playing overlapping WB but seems strange that we are playing well in the 3 at the back system.

All around, he is comfortable in central defense for example. Though in the last months, he has shown some weird positioning and generally his mind seemed to be somewhere else.

Is he better than Mendy tho?

Why the comparison with Mendy, they are different players and play different positions. The one thing they have in common is that they will both be available on their wings but Aurier has a better engine.

They are both full backs and they might be playing for rival clubs next season. One cost a world record fee and if United get Aurier it will be on a cut price deal. They will be compared a lot if we sign him.
