After all the deals we have given them.

FFS real we sold your Ruud, Becks and Ron below market value. Ron at £80m was cheap and SAF admits that one.

Or Real will change their tune if they grab Modric.

What? Don't push it mate, he's amazing but he can't cure cancer.

Think that should wrap it up, eh?

I'm new @Arsenal player. Ya puedo decir que soy jugador del @Arsenal :-)

Great deal for Arsenal.

Wenger has done some smart business this window. They still need a better leftback and cover for Sagna and Wilshere.

I think it is starting to show that the arsenal board are starting to free up some funds, the stadium is nearly paid off.

I can see Wenger really wanting a backlash now, especially after having to put up with so much ridicule recently.

Van persie being sold could end up being the best thing for them - i think they will start becoming more like the team we expect arsenal to be.

Strong rumours that he is here in the UK and having his medical done, £12.5mill (€16mill) is the figure being thrown about which would represent a great bit of business if true. However until Arsenal.com or Sky Sports break the news I'll take everything with a pinch of salt!

That is a fake account as far as I know

Surely not that low.
I thought it was close to 20m euros.

The Spanish still think it's £16m / €20m - pretty much what Malaga paid for him last year.

Hopefully Sahin deal will be completed soon and like John_Jensen says we might be in for the Malaga LB as well!

I've also heard €15mill rising to €20mill and like I've mentioned rumour has it instead of spreading the payments a lot of the money might be upfront. Until either side confirms it though we are just guessing!

Not sure about outshine, Silva has been pretty magestic last year.

But he is certainly a great plater.

Magestical for half a season. Invisible in some big games towards the end when Yaya had to be moved forward to bail them out. City fans were even arguing if he was carrying an injury when he wasn't performing as expected. Arsenal is the best possible fit for Cazorla. He'll be superb.

Maybe Mata, but he's not going to be better than Silva, I just can't believe that.

Shut up and trust me. Dirty Madridista cnut! :D

Good to see Arsenal strengthening their team. It feels strange to see them as also-rans and I'd like to see them become a genuine force again.

The likes of Silva and Mata get criticised for lack of end product yet Cazorla is going to outshine them? Probably a good signing but I wouldn't take it that far.

I think the fee will be undisclosed.

Damn, announce it already.

I am ready to scream with delight for all the non-football followers to think i have lost it.
Though they already think so.

If he really is going for that price then i don't know why other clubs weren't interested. He will be a steal for Arsenal.

He'll outshine Mata and Silva. Heard it here first.

Nope. He's not even near Silva's quality and IMO, Mata is better too.

Still, good deal for Gunners whom this year made some good business, although I think that they still need a left back and a center back. Then, and if (although doesn't seem possible) to change Van Persie's mind they can probably challenge even for title and without problems they will qualify for Champions.

If there's any position we don't need a player, it's CB.

Left back would be lovely, and Sahin would be great. I don't watch much La Liga but based upon what has been said in this thread, I'm excited.

If we sign Cazorla on top Podolski, Giroud; and say Sahin as well; his statement would look extremely foolish.

He's not as good as Mata or Silva, but he'd still be a superb signing for Arsenal. Perfect for their style. Still wont believe it till its announced though, cant believe another club arent offering him more money.

It'd be a great summer for you. I'm still to be convinced by either of your left backs, though. And beyond Koscielny and (IMHO, the somewhat overrated Vermaelen) you're still weak at centre half.

I'd say he hasn't been as good as Silva and is around Mata's level though a couple of years older. You need to take into account that Wenger gets players to fulfil their potential and Cazorla looks as if he's got more goals in him than the other two.

Vermaelen has gone from being over-rated to under-rated. A long stretch without injury will see him prove himself as a very good CB. Left back remains a problem, but I can't see us fixing it, sadly. But Santos is great fun to watch at the very least. Still, it's looking up.

I'd be most interested to see where he plays when everyone is fit. I can see Walcott being the big loser in all of these moves.

The first XI right now is:

Szczesny
Sagna Koscielny Vermaelen Gibbs/Santos
Song Wilshere
Walcott Cazorla Gervinho/Podolski
RvP

Wasnt Arshavin the last wideplayer Wenger signed around the same age? Doesnt always get the full potential. And Mata consistantly outscored Silva and Cazorla in la liga.

Interestingly the Spanish Media is quite confident on Song leaving Arsenal. We also know that RVP will be leaving whereas Wilshere is a crock. Podolski and Gervinho aren't good enough.

Arshavin was never a wide player in the first place. Wenger for some reason saw an energetic winger in someone who in reality was a lazy second striker and that didn't work out.

I'm sure Mata constantly outscored Iniesta as well when he was in La Liga. Not really a relevant statistic for a midfielder. Nevermind that Cazorla scored 9 goals last season, more than Silva and Mata, so he's quite capable in that aspect.

Where to? He's still got two years on his deal, hasn't he?

Of course it's a relevant statistic. It may not be the only thing that should be taken into account, but you can be sure that every manager looking at attacking midfield players will look at how many goals they weigh in with.
