Well practically that's the way it's done, no point in bidding for a player without finding out if he wants to play for you and roughly how much he wants.

Teams do that all the time. That's how business is usually done. It was big news just the other day when PSG bought Silva and Zlatan. You're not allowed to talk to the player if the team doesn't give permission to do so.

Be fun for Waddle (Santa Cat Zola) and Pleat (Sunday Cuntholer) if he comes.

He's a fellow Asturiano so I'll be following this one closely. Me for one I hope he moves to the Premier League, would be interesting to see how he copes.

If nothing else, it will shed some light on what the Qatari family have in mind - whether they astonishingly sell their best player right after making a big splash to land him in the first place and get CL football or start making good on the project they set out to do

I keep going back to Hierro leaving...To walk away, high character guy like that?...I'm sure it was due to a rotten atmosphere and couldn't stomach it

Could see an exodus if this keeps up

Is Podolski going to be moved up to striker or is that going to be Walcott's role because they have Podolski, Walcott, Gervinho and Cazorla to play on the wings.

Cazorla(if bought) will play in Rosicky's role.
Ahead of Arteta & Song.

La LFP confirma la retirada de las denuncias de Mathijsen, Cazorla, Rondón y Van Nistelrooy.

LFP has confirmed that Cazorla has withdrawn his complaint over unpaid wages. Posted by Maajid in twitter speculation thread.

He's staying at Malaga then.

Intriguing that it was the whole ethos of Al-Thani's vision underpinned by a long-term project which Hierro and Van Nistelrooy publically stated as the reason for joining the club last year.

He's agreed to the same deal as the rest of the squad (almost all the players signed the initial denuncia last month) and accepted some pay now, some in November. His agreement was late because he's only just come back from the Euros. Malaga announced his agreement last week - this is just La Liga confirming it.

Pellegrini (Malaga's manager) talked about this today. "Cazorla at 20m would be a gift. I don't believe the club would do it. It would devalue our work in the CL. I think these rumours come from outside the club."

He also basically said that he hopes the owner, or his appointee, will show up at the club again soon, because they've got a lot of things to resolve before the season starts.

So, no gold bars sitting in the Malaga safe right now and it sounds like Pellegrini is still trying to find out what's happening.

Exactly and Hierro abandoning ship has to be given considerable weight when assessing the potential problems at the club...Whatever is going on, key aspects that insured a solid shot at success are now absent which logically means trouble

For the record, I'd love to see Malaga explode and their players all leave after the Isco situation at Valencia, especially as Valencia would be the main ones to benefit. I just think its easy to say its all over for them but clubs generally put up a fight. Last summer everyone was saying Arsenal were done for with the players they sold and brought in, but they finished 3rd. Its a bit different, but the same idea. Easy to say, but we'll see what happens

How good is he? I noticed on FIFA that his dribbling went up to 98 after a couple of seasons. Is he another Messi or something?

With so many quality midfielders in Spain, the differences are in the details and they become subtler and subtler...Some though glide with natural understanding & ease like say an Iniesta...Not sure yet what Isco's best position or use is but he's a natural and his game is still maturing...Put him with better skilled teammates and I believe he could be special

Isco was considered the right footed Silva coming through and Paco Alacer the new Villa as the two first team stars were sold. As you'd imagine with that hype, Isco is a quality little technical player. He has the potential to have more of an impact on the Spain national side than Cazorla has done, but we're talking long term, not right now. And with the comparison to Silva its worth pointing out that although he's more of a speedy dribbler than Silva is, he probably doesnt have quite the same vision.

I watched Isco for a young Spain team several years ago and at that time he stood out more than Thiago Alcantara did. So I can see why our resident Barcelona fan would like to see him at his club.

With regards to any transfer, he was rated highly at Valencia and they wanted to groom him as a first team player and their next big thing (not Alba) but when Malaga got cash rich he decided he wanted to "go home" and so he left.

For that reason I doubt he's available for transfer and if he does move, it would suggest the sky is certainly falling at Malaga. Same as if Cazorla moves

Yeah Isco looked quality any time I saw him, not a big name but any club's fans would love him if they bought him. Paco Alcacer's looked very underwhelming when I've saw him unfortunately, particularly in the recent u19 final. Although in fairness it's easy to look invisible as a forward if your two creative players love to ball-hog as much as Jese and Delofeu do. And I suppose he's just 18.

yeah cos you need him.,..greedy bastard

True true

Although perhaps more than greed is that I just like seeing the chemistry, understanding & connection some of these players have with one another on the pitch...spotting genius, then cultivating that with other geniuses to see what magic they might produce

Paco, for me, is a Villa clone, and is as big a deal in Valencia's academy as Deulofeu is in Barça's...He's widely respected among all the forwards in his age group, his quality is not a secret...Father died last year and it's clear the kid really has taken awhile to get his mojo back...I hope he gets back on track, a lovely player

I'm dissappointed to hear that Brwned as I missed the tournament. Had a quick search online to see if I could find anything and just saw one great goal he scored here at 2.20

Having seen him at multiple levels before that tournament I know he's going to score plenty of goals in the future. But as FCBarca mentions, he had a tough time off the field last season maybe that caught up with him. I wonder if Valencia will send him and Bernat on loan this season. With Kevin Gameiro looking to come in that'll be Soldado, Jonas and Gameiro he'll have to get past to burst into the first team

Ekeke's been a bit of a cnut in this thread.

Anyway, apparently we've upped a bid to 23 million (reported by AS). Unprecedented for Wenger, if it's actually true then he must really really want his man. Won't get my hopes up though until I see him on our official site.

Almost no chance they sell Paco unless the player himself is unsettled (Barcelona have tried to pry him away in the past 2 seasons), Los Che have big hopes for Paco

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2180366/Arsenal-capture-15m-Santi-Cazorla.html

Arsene Wenger expects to complete the club record £15million transfer of Santi Cazorla by Tuesday.

Though Malaga are holding out for £20m, Arsenal hope a debt deadline imposed on the financially-stricken Spanish club will seal the deal.
On his way: Spain's Santi Cazorla

On his way: Spain's Santi Cazorla

With Robin van Persie poised to leave, the capture of Carzola, 27, is the major signing of the summer that Wenger has been promising.

Wenger was beaten to the signature of the Spain midfielder last year by Malaga, who had been seemingly enriched by their purchase by Qatari Sheik Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani.

But the club now have to clear huge debts by the end of the month or face relegation to Spain's second tier, the loss of their UEFA licence and Champions League expulsion.

Arsenal have been hampered by the lack of an authoritative figure to deal with at Malaga, but with the player now set on a move and Qatari negotiators flying in this weekend, there is hope the deal can be concluded swiftly.

Adding Carzola to the signings of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud represents the most significant summer strengthening since Arsenal imposed financial constraints on transfers in 2004.
