Santiago Cazorla

Good signing if true. Wenger is learning from last season and sorting out their problems before the season starts. Still needs to get some defenders though.

Are Arsenal fans expecting another striker to come in if Van Persie does go? If not, it's risking a fair bit on Giroud hitting the ground running.

Cazorla is a bit older than I thought he was, but you'd imagine he'd be a good signing for Arsenal.

big big gamble

Giroud could be chamahk V2

he should buy someone else but knowing Wenger he won't

I think Berbatov would be a great signing for Arsenal - probably available for about 8 million

Knowing the way we go about stuffs, no i don't expect any experienced player to come in.
We will probably give the third choice center forward role to Benik Afobe.

If Giroud is injured or off-form, Podolski will play there with Gervinho coming in at left; or probably Walcott will finally get to play central with Chamberlain coming in.
There are combinations available but whether they will work is something we can't interpreted.

Cazorla is a fantastic talent. Its a testament to Spain's depth of talent that he can't even get a game for them. I've been raving about him for ages. Its surprised me that no PL club has looked at him till now. With the depth of talent at Barca/Real in those positions he was always going to be an easy target for a club abroad.

Podolski could play there is required, but I think Giroud will be awesome.

If they sign Cazorla as well, feck me Wenger has done well in this window, regardless of whether RVP leaves. If they can sign a left back and maybe a young centre back they will be set.

Yet another player Arsenal are linked to that doesnt fit what they actually do in the transfer market. Will either cost more than Arsenal have ever paid for a player, or if there is a cheap way to get him because of Malaga's issues, much better clubs will take him instead.

This one can go in the pile with Gameiro, Kagawa and the rest of the players they were linked with that were just wishful thinking

Big if, knowing how hard we make signings.

Don't think they'll even try for a cb, we've got 4 already and Miquel looks promising enough

Thanks for putting us out of our misery...anything else we should know?

Miquel I think is linked heavily with Barcelona.

Anyway, don't think Arsenal will get Cazorla. He's a world class player and I think that if he's available then we, city and Chelsea will try for him. If Arsenal does get him though, then fair play.

Miquel was fecked around as a youngster by Barca, he already turned them down later when he signed for us. i'd be surprised if he goes back, not before he's established himself somewhere first.

Yeahh, Vermaelen, Koscieleny, Mertesaker are your three main experienced CB's. Squillaci isn't good enough IMO and niether is Djourou who never seemed to build on his original potential. So I think you could do with strengthening that back line, probably have to offload those two though.

A comparable signing to Smalling or Jones is what I'm thinking, young but with lots of potential. So they wouldn't be first choice but could come in and do a job, whilst gaining valuable exerience.

Yeah Miguel does look okay, he's a bit all over the place and not too composed at the minute, at least when I have seen him against Liverpool when he came on for example. But obviosly has potential.

It's Barcelona man. No matter how much any youth graduate has been messed up by Barcelona, they all eventually want to move back there.

Having told you guys ahead of time that Clichy, Nasri and RVP will be leaving because you arent winning anything, that you arent going to be signing all the players you're linked with who would cost more than your transfer record and that Giroud would be a replacement for Van Persie we're almost up to date.

Song will be next to leave either next summer or in the next 18 months. Take care.

wow, who would have guessed all of that.

And Alba was released, had to find a low quality side, may not have made it as a footballer.

Valencia took a punt on him, gave him a new position he had a future in and he still fecked them over to go back to Barcelona

More wishful thinking if you're counting on Miquel turning them down if they seriously want him

None of the Arsenal fans on here who wouldnt hear it.

Right, so the players entering the final 2 years of their contract who won't sign new contracts will probably leave, got it.

Walcott prediction?

I said they'd leave years before contract situations came into it. But you're right, it was common sense that the Arsenal fans on here just dont have.

Walcott? He'll stay at Arsenal.

If that'll please you more power to you, but it'll mostly be because the top clubs arent interested and Arsenal are unlikely to sell to Chelsea who might want an extra English player.

The Spanish press think Arsenal have (successfully) sounded out (aka tapped up) Cazorla or his agent, and he's confirmed he's interested. Malaga say they've been approached by other clubs, including Arsenal and Spurs but they say they're not aselling club and he isn't for sale.

The Malaga fans say the financial questions being asked are just a plot by the big clubs to spread rumours and uncertainty and undermine their team's summer recruitment project :smirk:

Meanwhile their sugar daddy still hasn't signed any cheques.

It's not about pleasing me Ekeke, it's about doing what's best for the club whilst living within our means.

Hopefully Santi at 15m is not too much of a push, he went to Malaga last season after all.

Malaga who were signing everyone and their granny and pushing out ridiculous wages you mean?

I dont believe for a second he'll be leaving for £15 million. If you're Malaga and there are some issues with payment for your best player, why wouldnt you sort those out before selling him if thats what you're going to do? Even if it means selling someone which I doubt they'd need to anyway. That means they can get full value for the player.

He moved for 21 million euros last summer and has been easily their best player so I dont expect he'll go anywhere for less than 27-30 million euros. And if by some strange occurance Malaga hold their hands up and say lets sell our best player and record signing after 1 season for about what we paid for him, he'll be rocking up to Madrid who tried to sign him years ago when they first missed out on Ronaldo and who jump at the chance to get more Spanish players in the squad, let alone Spain internationals.

I honestly just dont see this as realistic. But stranger things have happened in football. One of the most unlikely things however is for Wenger to disregard his beliefs and pay what it'd take in transfer fee and wages to see off other interest in the player from top clubs. My thinking is that Arsenal would have to outbid all rivals and offer him more wages and even then he'd be more likely to choose Madrid to stay in Spain.

They have a week to sort eveything out or they face losing their Uefa license(or so i've heard), perhaps he got pissed off at not actually receiving the ridiculous wages, or any for a few months?

We live in hope Ekeke, you're probably right but you might be wrong. i'm sure it's happened before. ;)

Lol at Ekeke..He really doesn't like the idea of Cazorla moving to us does he. Cazorla has praised us in the past, reckon there might be legs in this one.

Guardian is saying personal terms agreed just waiting on Malaga's reaction to a £15M bid.

Might have to wait a while for them to stop laughing

This one is just a bit more likely than Mata was. So if he comes you can expect him to be airlifted to the emirates by flying pigs

Would be a great signing for you, but so would Ozil

The bottom is clearly falling/about to fall out of Malaga.

They are avoiding paying their players and haven't spent but a dime so far this summer. So much for super-rich, obviously this Arab got bored quicker than most.

Think you're being hasty thinking that. The very first clubs to come and pounce on a Malaga that will be bleeding out their best players will be the Spanish clubs because they'll be far more in the know than us or English clubs. Malaga might not have signed anyone yet but they havent sold anyone either.

When you see Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla and Atletico raiding for Malaga players, thats when it'll be a firesale for decent prices

Not only do they owe their players and other clubs money but apparently they owe the taxman a hefty sum also.

No need to wet your knickers or get them in a twist, it's just a bit of idle transfer chat.

Is this a player we're going to be looking at in a year whilst thinking "why the flying feck didn't we sign him?!" ?

No. He's good but not that good.

Also, I doubt that there is a chance that Malaga will sell him under 25M.

This one always baffles me. How come the media claim that a club has reach a terms with a player when the transfer fee hasn't been.

"We're not sure we're going to sell him but feel free to talk to him and negotiate contracts."

Well practically that's the way it's done, no point in bidding for a player without finding out if he wants to play for you and roughly how much he wants.

If Cazorla signs, then will it force RVP to think twice about leaving. They will be considerably stronger than the last couple of years.

Diego Balado @ DiegoBalado
Santi Cazorla Malaga leaves to join the Arsenal.

Never heard of Diego Balado of Fox Sports, so most probably a load of old bollox.

At least he referred to us as 'The Arsenal' :)
