Sancho or Messi? Who would you try to sign?

Not sure who's the Jam... but it works either way.

Messi doesn't bother running anymore. Completely useless when the team doesn't have the ball. He can be the GOAT but is quickly turning into a liability. Also 33, and not ageing well.

Sancho 100%

I'd say these all contradict themselves.... obscene standards he's obviously set himself, but either way.

Sancho, not even a question.

Looking at longevity and potential. I’m not sure id choose messi over Sancho even if it was for just one season.

Messi's style means he's probably got 4 or 5 more years of peak football in him.

The question is if you're preferable to annihilating your wage budget.

Perspective in mind you can only choose Sancho. He'll set you up for the upcoming 10-15 years, Messi for maybe the next 3-4.

Sancho please.

Emphasizing wing plays, having a playmaker on the right, and all 11 players running for the team and moving together as a team is the Man United way.

Having one untouchable star player beyond any criticism who jogs around the pitch and always wants the ball at his feet, is not.

Messi also runs like 4km per match, meaning he becomes a complete liability in terms of pressing, defending.

Sancho, always!

You just know Ed's inner Muppet would love a sniff at Messi though, it would be marketably huge!

Imagine being able to say that you support the only club in the world where both Ronaldo and Messi played. For bragging rights, that's crazy.

Sancho, though. It would have to be him. Messi is too distracting and would undo a lot of the work that we have done the last few seasons on building a team, rather than a squad of individuals.

Sancho 100%

Messi without the ball is defending with 10 men. You cannot go a whole season in the PL playing like that.

We are not built to play with a player like Messi in the team.

Ask Koulibaly about that ;)

Oh no I asked Liverpool, Roma and Bayern and they concur.

Generally of course. Messi's pretty good at pressing when he decides to do it, though. But doesn't have the legs to do it anymore respectively if he did, he wouldn't be as good offensive-wise. You need to defend through possession with him in the team which is why I think you wouldn't be a good fit. He could be excellent at City though.

He would be very good with a possession based team, I agree. He cannot be going to a team what needs to build however; he wont do that. He shouldn't do that. PSG and City are the only 2 options in Europe I see for him if he actually leaves.

For a team to afford Messi in this window, it has either of the state backed clubs, not other club can afford him. Or it might all be yet another player from Real / Barca threatening to leave for a better contract, we have seen it with alot of their players in the past.

I would not be surprised if Messi sings another mega deal at Barca.

Messi. He can win us the league and it won't be City getting him. Sancho can do one. Won't force a move so feck him.

Messi is my all time favourite player. Nothing would make me more happy than seeing him in a United jersey.

Messi now and Sancho next year

Messi's 1m a week wage can be covered by getting rid of our deadwoods, 40% of that (400k) has already been allocated from Sanchez's sale.

Sancho, not even a question.

Otherwise we would enjoy messi for 2 years and then cry for 10 years while Sancho is ripping it up at a rival!

I'd probably go for Sancho, but having the best player ever play for the club you support is very appealing - would be an amazing sight.

Sancho, because he's the biggest talent and best U21 player in the world right now alongside Mbappé.

There's no guarantee sancho stays here beyond 4 odd years. Messi the same. Let's sign messi

Sancho, we could have him for more than a decade. Realistically though if the board weren't willing to spend big on Sancho then logically why would they be willing to do so on anyone else?

Sancho all day long, he has 12+ years of career ahead while Messi has 2 maybe 3. Even with Messi we dont have the potential to be contenders for major titles so its better for us to sign thinking on the long term rather than the short one.
