Samuel Eto'o

In the last few days paper were linking us to Eto and Huntelaar. I would avoid both of them...

Eto does not come cheap and is no spring chicken, and he s not injury-free either.

Huntelaar on the other hand is younger but a but too static...

He's only recently turned 28 and he made 52 appearances for his club last season

Seriously folks, if you don't want him, fine, but lets stop coming up with utter garbage eh?!

the shite some people talk is unbelievable. bottom line. does anyone think our squad would be weaker with Eto in it? want him or not. he is quality and you can never have enough of that

I'd be very surprised if he didnt end up at City.

I really cant see this happening after getting Owen.

Is there anything behind this story or is it a bit of media bollocks again?

fair enough, if we don't end up getting him...but not trying for the world's best striker, in the peak of his career, AND who happens to have a reasonable price tag...is madness.

everyone was wanking over the prospect of benzema...myself included...but eto'o is on a different planet.

wayne rooney playing just behind eto'o would also unlock rooney's talent to really become the 'white pele'......it is a win-win situation IMO. it'll improve our team and our best player.

Errr, a fit Torres is better than any striker today.

It pains me to admit.

But I do admit signing Eto'o would improve us tenfold. But it's not going to happen.

Am I missing something? Why the sudden revival of this thread? Is there any new news except "some bloke told me"?

that happens to be your opinion.

eto'o would be my choice, and has been for some time. for me torres is definately top 3-5, but eto'o is still the king.

Thats La Liga only.

No liga (18) + champions league (7) = 25

Where are the other 27 games?

If those statistics are correct, in the last couple of season he featured in roughly half of the games, he featured in the previous 2 seasons.

BTW I did not say he is a bad player-not at all. His goals/game ratio is very high.

However over here some people see everything black or white...

a spanish website reported that eto was signing for man utd. hence the kerfuffle

52 appearances?

Not according to this site...

Last season, dude.

I think it's because Obertan has signed, everyone needs another thread to jump on.

speculation. Only small - nothing big but stranger things have happened

Ok you re right.

Anyway it shows that for 2 consecutive seasons he had some form of injury. I m saying this because lots of ppl over here said the same things about Owen.

Well eurosport is wrong simple as that!

Between League, CL and Spanish cup he's played 50 games, 44 as a starter and 6 as sub 34 goals..... fact!

No they were not wrong, I was...

They did not have data for last season updated.

A few foreign websites linking us but nothing concrete and every reason to believe this transfer is very unlikely given recent events..

Did someone (over here) say that Real are interested too?

Did someone (over here) say that Real are interested too?

they were joking. Eto'o was at madrid earlier in his career and would probably give them the middle finger if they were

I'd like to see a bit more FACHT, a lot less bullshit in here... forgot what the transfer forum was like.

So in this whole gay WUM off (as if this forum wasn't bad enough as it is)

Were the original Spanish press stories that came out today true or fake?

We don't know yet. They seem pretty 'matter of fact' about it - but in the complete absence of any other news agency saying anything I guess it's just speculation. Gutted, I was enjoying this muppet party.

The media is linking us more with Huntelaar than with Eto....

(The Huntelaar theory is based on Milan's declaration that they prefer Luis Fabiano rather than Huntelaar because of their brazilian manager Leonardo)
