Sami Khedira

Silliest rumour yet. Prefer Carrick and Jones

Carrick is 31 in july. By the time Morrison and Pogba come of age, he'll be 34-5. Jones is a center back regardless of what people want him to be. That is why we purchased him. Giving him time in midfield is the same as giving a midfielder time on the wings. It allows him to work on his creativity and at the same time work on defensive capabilities.

Khedira would be a straight replacement for Fletcher and Giggs imo. So it would leave us with Khedira, Carrick, Anderson and Cleverly. Very solid midfield line up for the next 3-4 years. If Fletcher comes back, massive bonus.

The rumor in Bild is from AS. The rumor in AS is from "footybunker.com".

That being said, I think he would offer something to our midfield and could be a good acquisition.

Decent? Yes, great vacuum-cleaner, fine World Cup but he doesn't justify that massive price-tag, for me. He's had an average season for Madrid at best and it looks like the Spanish media are making this up too.

I'm expecting his agent to come out and squash those rumours, stating he is happy at Madrid, he will fight for his place, bla bla, usual chit-chat.

So what are the chances of this lad being available in the summer?

Always felt he was a solid enough player but I think theres possibly a lot more to him than that. Think he'd suit the premiership as well. He's the right age and would come with valuable experience.

Not the biggest muppet target I know but does anyone else think he might be an option?

Would be a pointless signing.

He's a decent enogh player but his fee would would be inflated coming from Madrid. Also, he dallies on the ball a bit too much which bugs me.

Sign him for his missus alone ;)

Seriously, he'd be brilliant alongside Carrick and would allow him (Carrick) to go forward more frequently. If there is any chance to sign him we should be in the race.

To say he'd be a pointless signing is ridiculous. I actually think he's still improving and will continue to do so.

Hes also better going forward than he's given credit for, although that side of his game was more apparent in Germany.

In Spain that is part of the trade. He'd never do that in the EPL.

I really don't see a single thing pointless about signing a player like him. He'd suit us down to the ground but we have no chance of getting him.

I've watched him a lot while he grew into the player he is today at Stuttgart, and given a bit more freedom he's capable of being a really good box-to-box player. His role in Real's midfield is 'limited' to a certain extend, e.g. give the ball to Ronaldo, Di Maria or another forward player and quietly do your defensive duties. He is so much better than that given the freedom to do so.

Where has this even come from anyway? Seems to play fairly regularly for Madriid.

Watch him play for the Gemans. He plays for them totally differently from the way he plays for Real.

Saw him in the World Cup for Germany but that's it. He had more freedom in that side but you know how that World Cup was. Everything was so slow paced he had plenty of time on the ball.

Probably why England struggled...

Would be a good signing, sort of filling that Fletcher shaped hole in our squad. Not worth anything like 40m though, that's insane.

 Yes, Madrid would definitely reject a €40m bid for a player they don't even need (Alonso and Illarramendi will be ahead of him when fit anyway).

40mil for Khedira would be a fecking joke. He's worth half of that.

Not a chance to sign a great player at this hour.

The only one available is Kuzmanovic, Inter Milan can let him go for free.

If we'd really offered that amount Woody would be coming home with Khedira and one hand.

What a silly bid that would be in context of everything that's happened this window.
