Sami Khedira

No worries mate! I can imagine, some people just don't let things go. Fear not, I am not English myself - I actually tend to support Germany in many major tournaments. I just love the people, & the country in general.

I hope Germany do well, as I always do, & wouldn't bet against you guys reaching the semis or even the final. I have my reservations about Joachim Löw, but I think he has many good qualities & a fine team at his disposal. Cannot wait for this World Cup.

Haha. Thanks man. Hope the best for your team(if you are in it:nervous::(:boring:)
The world cup will be GREAT.

 I get an excuse to support Germany & Brasil. My country has only made one World Cup - 24 years ago! U.A.E lost to West Germany too, if I am correct.
Indeed, I have a feeling it will be a great tournament. A real shame about their situation though - they are spending all that money on a WC when there are millions of kids who will never be schooled or given medical care at the expense.

On topic: I'm surprised at the bashing Khedira is getting on here. He is limited, sure, but he held his own when he had to fill in at Real Madrid, and would be a massive improvement on the likes of Fellaini & Cleverley. We should probably be aiming for better, but it's not like he wouldn't improve us. If he was available for cheap, we should at least think about it.

Alongside a Kroos, Vidal then yes. Park like energy levels but you'll be tearing your hair out with the number of botched opportunities. He gets into so many good positions in the box,if he was a better finisher he would be a 10 plus goal CM a season.

Arsenal target with a 15 mil pound valuation. Interesting to see how his future will play out.

Fantastic effort for him to be back playing in a Champions League final already after ACL surgery.

Not that Khedira is a wide-spread muppet dream but nevertheless: Ancelotti confirmed that Khedira will stay at RM next season.

I can't believe Madrid never sold him to us for 40million last year

He's a good player and better than all our current midfielders, but he's nowhere near worth that.

He's not a defensive midfielder. He's a midfielder who'll get up and down the pitch, presses high and makes runs beyond the defence (before inevitably killing the attack when he gets on the ball). He doesn't have the discipline to stay in position though so he's never been trusted to play as the deepest midfielder (for Real Madrid it's Alonso and for Germany it's Lahm/Schweinsteiger).

We did and i still can't believe Real rejected it. 40 milllion for Khedira jesus.. Moyes and his desperation.

Desperation and ineptitude. Dallied when we could have signed de Rossi and ended up throwing around random bids with 24 hours of the window left.

Really hope we have learnt our lesson this time.

I'm not sure what the point of him is. He can't pass, tackle, dribble or shoot. He's not good enough defensively to play at the base of a midfield 3, or creative enough to play further forward.

But still better than Cleverley, Anderson and Fellaini combined.

He's got a great engine and a fantastic work rate so in a midfield three he has his uses - to hassle opponents and to stretch defences with his bursts forward from midfield. Unfortunately for him at a top club the chances are there's going to be someone who can do all that but can also be more threatening on the ball. Di María has basically made his starting place in Real Madrid's midfield unnecessary because he can do everything Khedira does and more.

Apparently Madrid don't want him, could be £20M, Express though...

English newspaper - always far off trying to talk about their own muppets.

Immediately after the first rumours were spread Ancelotti talked in a press conference that Khedira is a very important player for him and not for sale.

Khedira is an important player - not only because of his actions on the pitch but he is a model professional with an extreme drive that is a standout as a personality.

Yes I think he can provide the energy in a midfield that's sorely lacking it, so alongside a player in the mould of Pirlo/Alonso he perhaps has a use, but as you say, it's possible to get players who are much better technically to perform the same role. He's a headless chicken.

He's no world beater but he's an upgrade on every midfielder we have bar Carrick. 20m for Khedira is decent fee considering what we paid for Young, Fellaini, Anderson

A very good midfielder whose style is more suited to the English game. I think he'll fit in at United quite nicely. Criminally underrated here.

SAMI SAMI SAMI SAMI

If he joins I'll buy his shirt !

Not sure if he really wants to leave Real Madrid, but with another top midfielder and behind Mata, he can be great !

I don't know what's funnier here - that we managed to put a £33m bid for Khedira or that Madrid actually rejected it.

I'm sure LVG rates many more German players than just Hummels & Schweini.

Him and Kroos or Strootman would be a world class upgrade.

£20 million is not a bad price at all for him, I certainly wouldn't flinch at that. I have liked his performances for Madrid, thought he looked solid for them every time, and he looked pretty class against Portugal, especially after being laid off all that time with an injury.

He would've been a good signing last season, as we conceded most of our goals as our midfield didn't protect the defence well, which he would've done. Khedira in Moyes' system would've worked as he and Carrick could've sat in and given the front 4 more freedom to express themselves without the worry of losing the ball and getting hit on the counter.

We shouldn't use our shit pile as a benchmark
We've been saying that for the last number of years and it's one of the reasons why we've been left in our current predicament. Constantly looking for the perfect midfielder when we should be taking what we can get.

It's not our money but for a fair price he'd be a terrific addition to the midfield. The random bidding for anyone and everyone last summer (if we are to believe what we were fed) is irrelevant now. If Madrid don't want him, then hopefully they don't want a hefty fee and if LVG is a fan, hopefully Khedira is open to a switch to OT.

There is little or no future for Fletcher - wouldn't surprise me if he left this summer. Carrick will play but who's to say he'll get another contract for another 12 months? We're not sure if LVG rates Fellaini. Anderson needs no explanation. And Cleverley hasn't developed to a level where you can say he merits his place.

If we went out and bought Khedira AND one or two others who offer different skills and abilities I'd be very happy. He's another that can be absolutely brilliant in the right system. As an individual he's never going to shine like a Schweinsteiger or Gundogan pre-back injury/obesity, but as part of a strong engine he'll go about his business with very few issues.

I don't think he's good at all. Limited technically, can't pass, pretty slow, and not the best reader of the game. I think he's like an evolved form of Fellaini in terms of abilities.

He will fit in nicely with our current midfield then.
