Sadio Mane | LFC Player

He's just so inconsistent, he'll have great weeks, then be totally out of sorts the next. Can't say them signing him bothers me, just another hot and cold player.

Fecking hell, I don't know how much Euros that is these days but are we paying nearly as much for Sadio fecking Mane as Utd for Mkhitaryan? I hate Mane :(

Hey, it's either Mane or Troy fecking Deeney, so it could always be worse.

Southampton is like Liverpool's B team now.

Not quite cause they pay for their players but you get it.

They can have him, way top much for a player like Mane. Wouldn't shock me if he's this years Benteke/Lallana/Downing.....

Failed his audition at OT miserably. Seems to have a bottom level so low that he he falls over when trying to kick the ball on a bad day. Really good player when it is his day, however.

Law of averages would suggest at least one Southampton player be a success following a move to Liverpool

This will probably be the one. He does blow hot and cold but I think it'll be worth it for them

Good player, we could have used him too. I know some dont rate him at all, but i think Liverpool will suit him and he will be very good for them.

In Mane Klopp has got a much needed wide player who will perfectly fit the teams playing style.

Pity, it would have been great to see Redmond and Mane playing together at Southampton.

Similar thoughts were expressed when Liverpool signed Clyne and we got Darmian. We all know how that ended. This might end up the same way or even worse regards we getting Mikhitaryan and Liverpool Mane and i'll really be happy to be proven wrong but people on this thread are getting too ahead of themselves.

Going to be away the African Cup of Nations against us, Swansea and Chelsea at least and possibly a Tottenham game as well. The problem with signing the top African players.

As others have pointed out, it's his consistency that's the problem. He's great when he's to be found but unfortunately that's in sparse patches (not in games, but weeks).
Ive watched every game of his this season and the inconsistency thing is a bit over stated.
Im biased because I really like watching him play and would have loved to have him at Utd, he would be a better option for us than a number of our current players.
But the inconsistency tag has become a go to line of those who dont like him or those who in reality havent watched him that much and are just parroting what they have read others say.
He had a patch in the middle of the season where he went horribly off form but once he came back to that he returned to being consistently one of the 2-3 best players for Southampton in every game. For the bulk of the season he was one of their best 2-3 players each game.

Great signing. Play him behind the striker your looking at 15 goals. Liverpool fans will be hoping they can keep hold of Coutinho now.

So, we are not going to have Bailly :(

I don't trust Rojo, I hope Jones is not injured in January. Liverpool have Coutinho, Lallana and Firmino so they wouldn't miss Mane that much.

Never been keen on him for United, but I think that's a decent enough signing for pool. He does blow hot and cold, and he looks better centrally than on the wing, but the tools are there to be a great fit for Klopp's system. The fee is whatever, market has gone crazy.

Mind elaborate other than usual gut feeling toward PL proven vs unproven?

What about Martial vs Sterling?

Good player, I would complain about the fee but prices for PL players now are barmy so I couldnt judge what is and isnt decent money. Quick direct skilful and adds a threat from out wide, I guess he's supposed to be our extremely watered down version of Reus. Adds something we dont have, AFCON is a ball ache hes missing some important fixtures there, glad we actually made a signing though.

I think he will do really well for them. Very good player and a great fit for Klopp's fast, aggressive style.

I think he's a great signing. Part of their problem was they were just too narrow. They had absolutely no wingers. He also allows Klopp to play a 433/4231.
Think he will do very well for them and will help them break down teams who found it easy to shut them down last season.

Nope, apparently £30m wouldn't be enough to nab Troy Fecking Deeney

Footballs gone Fecking bonkers

True, even though they've had their fairytale I bet Leicester fans are cringing at their club actually bidding that much for a guy that's pushing thirty and wouldn't look out of place standing with the Stoke City fans on deadline day.

Completely agree with that. its strange to call a player inconsistent when he's reached double figures in goals for two consecutive seasons in the toughest league in the world. One has to watch his performances against the big teams to see what he really brings to the table. He's definitely superior to young and lingard, and Depay from last season.

The ideal Liverpool singing. A good but frustrating player. On his day amazing, but otherwise average. He certainly won't bring Liverpool to the level I'm sure their fans want them to be.

I think it's a good deal for both clubs. He's a good player. I would've taken him here but id take Mlhitaryan over him.

£30 million for a player as inconsistent as Mane is just goes to show how crazy the market is becoming.

I won't write him off just yet but I have serious doubts that this one will go well for us. Hopefully Klopp get's the best out of him.

Not a name that ever excited me, but Klopp will probably use him well

Decent player, absolutely ridiculous fee. He is inconsistent as feck.

Says a lot about their fans that they're even going as far as to say they don't care how much they pay for any player because it is Klopp. Whereas if it was Rodgers they'd be against it. That is just woeful

He is very inconsistent, but could be down to motivation reasons as he does have good games against the top teams. Liverpool could bring him to the next level, although they are no longer a top team
