Ryder Cup: Hazeltine Sept 30th- Oct 2nd: USA vs. Europe&GB

What the feck was that when Stenson was about to putt? Even Reed was shaking his head at the crowd. Cretins.

Just read why Rory is so fired up.
A fan told him to suck a dick and thats why his ex girlfriend left him.
What is the point?

But why would he let that bother him? Just laugh at or ignore the imbecile. Also, he left her. And that's not the reason he's pumped up. That happened today. He was "pumped up" yesterday too.

Horrible team selections with Kaymer and Westwood. Clarke should have trusted the in-form players, even if they are rookies. I say Clarke cost the team at least 1 1/2 points.

I cannot fecking believe he put Kaymer out there ahead of CB, Wood or Sullivan.

Kaymer ffs. Couldn't make a putt to save his life. As captain's picks go, it can't get worse than this.

What's the point of Kaymer

To give America a chance. Maybe they can find him a Stricker for tomorrow, so he can shoot about seven over and still line up the winning put on 18.

Imagine Paul Casey in his place. :wenger:

Don't think Casey could play once he renounced his European Tour membership (idiotic rules) but regardless of that Kaymer was a shocking pick by Clarke.

Kaymer holes one!

Willet or Westwood really needs to pull something out of the bag here.

Europe need a full point from W&W or we are screwed. Can´t believe Clarke conceded three of 16 points and wasted Garcia twice. What a mug.

Nah, never say that. Not after the 2012 cup when Europe were 4 points down (EU 6 USA 10) going in to the last day and came back and hammered them and won 8 1/2 points on the final day. Anything can happen. I agree the extra point would be nice, but it's far from over.

They are all starting to look extremely tired now, and it's showing in a lot of their play too.

W&W having a 'mare.

It's falling apart here. We're going to start Sunday 3 points down by the look of things and I don't see another Medinah happening here. I think USA will break our winning streak tomorrow.

Westwood is such a bottler these days
I get why Clarke felt he needed to pick Kaymer and Westwood because there are already 6 rookies (and Westwood is his mate) but there are several players in much better form than those two. I think Ryder Cup captaincy discussion is largely bullshit but probably the most important aspect of making the right picks and two of his three have massively disappointed.

And where do you get the 7 1/2 points from with garbage play from Kaymer, Fitzpatrick, Westwood and Willett. You still not sure what you get from Sullivan and Wood. Only Rory, Pieters, Stenson, Rose, Garcia and CB look like they have a chance to win a full point. Clarke has been a horible failure as captain. Just too nice. Better to have somebody like McGinley, who works really hard and turns over every stone.

Darren Clarke too nice? One of the most unlikable characters in golf. The only consolation in Europe losing, as is looking very probable, is that the captain's a prick.

I take it all back, surely even Westwood can't miss that.

I picked the wrong word. Not nice, but lackadaisical. Kaymer and to a lesser extent Westwood were poor picks, then he was completely unimaginative and lame in his selections. Why not put Stenson/Rose 2nd and they walk all over Holmes/Moore, then put some rookies like Wood/Sullivan together and feed off each other rather than be dragged down by Kaymer and Westwood.

Judge him at the end of tomorrow- maybe Kaymer et al can pull something out the bag. It's not over yet, even if it is an uphill struggle. Jesus though, that Westwood miss on the 18th.

WTF? An hour ago Europe were up in 3 of the 4 games and everything was looking good. No mention of Clarke being at fault then, now after some seriously shitty play and it's all the captains fault. I thought the knee-jerk hysteria was confined to the football forums. I guess not.

Because usually the best way is to put rookies with experienced players.
