Ryder Cup: Hazeltine Sept 30th- Oct 2nd: USA vs. Europe&GB

Haha Johnson 4&3. I bet that´s when we saw that accidental shot of what looked like a premature celebration by the Americans. :D

What a great weekend of golf again. Congratulations team USA, well played and well deserved, overall played far better than Europe and playing for the memory of Arnold Palmer obviously helped too. No real complaints, just Europe didn't play well enough and definitely didn't putt well enough. Can't wait for two years time to hopefully win the cup back again.

Yup the 4 balls yesterday could have been different if he made better choices but overall USA just far too strong this time
There's about 5 or 6 Europeans who should be the core of the team next time (Rory, Rose, Stenson, Garcia, Pieters, maybe Cabrera-Bello) and hopefully Willett and Kaymer can find some form again which has deserted them when it was needed. Add in Russell Knox and there's a decent core for 2 years time with surely a couple of others to step up. I know the rankings aren't worth much but Moore is America's lowest ranked player at 31 and he's been in great form. Half the European side are ranked below him and it's shown.

We just lost some great Ryder Cup legends with Donald, McDowell, Westwood and Poulter, that had not just good, but brilliant records. Now we need to find a few new players. Pieters and Cabrera-Bello showed up.

It was a good watch tbh and yep, hats off to the US. Can the Brits join their side after Brexit?

I think blaming the European tour lads is a bit easy. Fitzpatrick clearly struggled but Wood, Pieters and Cabrera-Bello turned up and played well. Sullivan was shafted straight after the Friday fourballs, too.

Westwood is a disaster and Kaymer (who I still would have picked) just didn't show up.

Ryder Cup needed that to be honest.
It took Clarke fecking this up, a terrible opening morning and America to get white hot on the greens to win this.
There's a bit more in the top 2/3 of this European side than there is in their American counterparts imo.
Add in the hunger for revenge and it'll be quite a weekend in a few years. Just hope Rory carries this form over now. He showed he's almost untouchable when he's on it.

Nobody to blame at all and Westwood and Kaymer have both been amazing in the Cup so were always going to be picked. USA deserved it, they just played and putted better throughout the team. No real complaints and as @cyberman said, oddly enough I think the competition needed it. Europe have dominated and had it their own way and it was starting to get a little one sided. This ensures the rivalry continues and gives the players something to really aim for in two years time.

There's been a few references to the back order being a bit shite, to be fair. They're not, the US are just that bit better.

I know mate, that wasn't knocking your post, more agreeing with you. 100% agree that the USA were just better, and more experienced. This will be good experience for youngsters like Willet and Wood and co.

Kaymer!!!!

 The two sides to Joey Barton...

The expected side.....

And then the insightful side that few people like admitting he has.

Great Tweet agree 100% especially about Garcia. @Rado_N and I have been saying it for ages about Sergio winning a major. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

Ay, even Fitzpatrick. He'll feel a bit naff but anybody that's watched him before knows he's got serious game.

Sergio has cost me a small fortune over the years!
It's all just in his head. He's expected to turn it on in the Ryder Cup so he does, he's expected to play a round in one of the majors with fluffed approaches and shanked gimmes so he does.
If he won a major when he was younger he would have had 2/3 by now.

But he has no distance atm, which makes him a liability away from home, when the Americans just put out a driving range with three water hazards.

Well I got the margin of victory right.
Got that right also, just the wrong way around.

By getting the first one right you automatically got the other right.

It must be a pleasant surprise for you though, you must be proud of the lads and chuffed to bits as they played some absolutely amazing golf. It was a great Ryder Cup.

God these speeches go on a bit...
