I can't imagine we'd be his choice with all the clubs interested in him.
The Times is pretty reliable right? Maybe Mourinho wants him for a wingback but tbh, and I only seen a highlight video of him, I am not that impressed, he's obviously very young and will probably grow into a great player but maybe he found the net many times but his attacking skillset is still very raw, something similar like Rashford, an ability to pull a trick but not really a close control or fantastic dribbling or a shot, he looks more about pace and strength. seems to me like a good player to be made into a leftback than left attacker which we have plenty. But I'd take a punt on him, no matter how ready he is not for Mourinho in his probably last (next season) or two, he would be here for much longer, would personally rather see him get Shaw's gametime but is he good enough defensively? We could surely loan him out somewhere too..
a good player to be made into a leftback than left attacker which we have plenty. I never said we have enough leftbacks mateWe have a lot of left backs? Since when? Shaw is off and Young is a converted winger who isn't getting any younger and prone to injuries throughout the season.

It's been a while since United scooped some quality English talent.

Don’t understand this. Do we not consider ourselves the biggest club in the world or are we developing an inferiority complex because of a 5 year gap between titles? Joining United means something to young English lads plus he will get paid as much here as anywhere.
It's nothing to do with any of that, he's 17 and we have a manager who is not very good with youth and certainly not young attacking players, I think Spurs would be a more logical move for him at his age.
So let’s say he gets an equal offer from Spurs and United, you think it is logical for him to choose Spurs?

He bagged two player awards in the Championship at the age of 17?
Must be really some player then
This is exactly what I want to know. Heard he's scored 17 goals, surely that indicates he shouldn't be wasted at LB.So whats the fuss with this kid? Hearing conflicting stories.
Is he a LW or LB?
Some other suggestions saying he can plat RW?
LW is a major no go area for me, even before we signed sanchez I'd see no need to cover out on left, with sanchez 110% not needed.
With the Shaw situation, we do need a LB. Can we trust a 17yr old to be our main LB? Is he even good at LB cos his best form seems to come from an attacking position, which we don't need.
I'm all for signing young british talent, but struggling to see the need for this kid right now unless he is someone we cant pass up for LB? I don't know how good he is too judge

As a united fan I’d obviously love us to sign him, but honestly if I were him I wouldn’t sign for us for a couple of reasons.
- If he wanted to play LW there’s already too much competition.
- As a LB I wouldn’t exactly be thrilled at my prospects considering how we’re playing a thirty something failed winger ahead of an already talented, young, English actual LB.
- Its Mourinho. I know there’s going to be a poster who will wheel out that list of players that were given their debuts by Mourinho but let’s be real, he’d definitely get less of a look in than under Poch or Klopp.
I completely agree with the poster you were quoting - I can't imagine we'd be his first choice. If the guy wants to play LW then he has a lot of competition here - Martial, Sanchez and Rashford. Also as a youngster I'd rather be trained by Poch, Klopp or Pep.Don’t understand this. I hope so.If we are in for him then I suspect it will be a purchase and loan back to Fulham proposal.
I know everyone is throwing up objections regarding the current options we have in that position but we do not have one genuine winger. They are all forwards who move inside which is a great option to have but there are plenty of occasions when teams benefit from genuine and natural width. There is absolutely a place in the squad for this player for that reason.

I'll be fine with selling Shaw and signing this guy as a backup to another left back signing like Sandro.
This coupled with the fact Huddersfield are far from safe mean I’m convinced we are going to sign him!Southampton still have Swansea to play (albeit away). Don't condemn them to relegation just yet.
