Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

Hopefully you are right. If you do end up being right, then it is starting to become clear that UKR and the West may also be manipulating the media/social media.
Well, I was right about the "force" being used, it's no more than a few dozens of soldiers walking on foot into the city! Even without an armor! What I don't understand is why nobody is shooting at them. They're just walking in the city without any fight.

Surely there has to be somebody with a gun in the city and will pick them out...

It is very likely Kyiv will fall sooner or later. They will not be able to hold it for forever and the sheer number of Russian troops still coming towards Kyiv, they are very likely to break through. The biggest question here I think is, what's next after they take Kyiv? I think it's doubtful now that they can take over entire Ukraine, especially the western part of it, since they had much more time to prepare than the other parts, so does Russia just stop there?
Guess the objective is to eliminate/exile Zelenskiy and prop up a puppet government.

If those strikes happened it's not disinformation is it?

Agree about the points on Syria, Russia really did a number there, a total scorched earth approach which killed so many innocents.
The disinformation is that just because strikes happened elsewhere does not mean that they matter less here in Ukraine now. You should be even fecking angrier about what is starting to happen in Kharkiv right now, because it is beginning to look like Russia will consider doing what they did in Syria and turn Kharkiv into another Aleppo.

You are doing the Kremlin’s job for them if you are engaging in whataboutery. They actively want black people, brown people and white people from the West to divide on these issues and not present a united front.

Seems only a matter of time now that Kyiv will be taken over by russian forces. A bloody and devastating night and now so many russian forces are advancing into Ukraine.

It’s bad for Ukraine at the minute but it’s worse in Yemen and about to get even worse.

There’s roughly 3 million children starving in Yemen and without Ukraine’s wheat it will get a hell of a lot worse.

The Arab states must be hoping that Russia takes Ukraine quickly.

Yea but will people suddenly stop fighting once this happens? Ukraine is way past the point of accepting any pro Russian government IMO.

Ah no, I don't think thev resulting insurgency will be over in months, if not years.

Russia is no.1 supplier of wheat in the world and Ukraine 4th. I do not think much wheat will be produced this year in Ukraine. But the "arab states" could help their own. There are enough super rich states there so that they could support with food, water and medicines if they actually WANTED to help.

We are seeing satellite images of the 40mile Russian military convoy.
But why are the roads not being mined or covered by IEDs in order to slow or stall them.
Or bomb them from the air with jets or attack helicopters.
They look to be a sitting target.

There is a separate thread for Yemen.

Help their own? I don’t think the Arab states would consider another Arab state as their own? Its like saying why don’t Poland help Ukraine, it’s never that simple.

I mean Saudi Arabia are bombing Yemen almost daily, Some Yemen’s are trying to bomb Dubai, missile intercepted two weeks ago.

I also don't understand this. Should be the easiest target to hit ever. Russia may have air superiority, but surely artillery or missile strikes would still be an option.

Fecking hell. That probably killed a few civillians

it sure did kill many. It directly hit one car, I think
what a pointless way to die, absolutely mindboggling..can't wrap my head around it

That's what I thought. Ukraine release footage of them hitting other convey'a which are smaller

That Kharkov airstrike is the kind of thing I was worried about. Just have to hope for a Moscow coup, don't know what else can stop this nonsense invasion.

That car, driving after the blast, it’s very sad they’re obviously dead and the car is just rolling forward.
Couple of guys walked out but yeah, think the driver died on the spot

Why cant US force Apple and Google to send push notifications to all russian citizens about their government's activities? Android has a 70% market share in Russia.

Or force a special 'system update' ?

Isn't Xi Jinping, aka Putin's master (China is easily Russia's no. 1 trading partner, while I think Russia is only China's 12th largest trading partner so it's clear who's in the position of strength there), growing increasingly frustrated and annoyed by this invasion, the fact that is has been had been managed and led so disastrously and the fact that much of the rest of the world has united against Putin?

Inevitably people in Taiwan will be following what happens here very closely.
