Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

Laughable sanctions.

Essentially freezing Russia's financial assets in the US, but still being ok with buying oil and gas from them.

At least he threatened with article 5 if Russia tries to do something similar with some NATO country.

If a warmonger pact like NATO wants to put weapons and troops and what not on your own border I think someone is preparing to attack you. NATO has been doing that for 70 years without regards. The last time the Russians tried the same in Cuba, the US threatened war. So how is this any different??

Probably chilling somewhere like I do now.

Who sells the weapons to Ukraine and NATO? Are you from Mars?

Yes he has, but he is not fighting and dying the ordinary soldiers of both sides do. Putin is no better, but much more straight forward than piece of garbage like Bidden and the lunatic sitting in London.

Russia does not want NATO on it's doorstep end of. It gives them the reason to defend their interest the same way the US defended theirs when Russia wanted to put missiles in Cuba. I was born and live in Macedonia, felt the NATO and western hypocrisy when I was 6 and NATO bombed Jugoslavia, bombed Belgrade where my cousins live where they had to run for their lives. The same NATO helped and armed Albanian terrorist 2 years later to kill Macedonian policemen and civilians.
And Ukraine helped my country in 2001, so I have only gratitude for the people of Ukraine. We have felt war and the loss it brings, what happens now saddens me, but we have been living in this shitty world for too long to pretend all is black and white.
FFS, you're a loony, why aren't you banned yet?

On ignore you go.

Of course Germany in bed with Putin once again, this time probably sucking his cock through Nord Stream 2 pipe.

"Our" policy has been a disaster and has completely blown up into our faces since this morning.

There is a lot of Russian money in Germany. A former chancellor is basically a paid Putin shill. A current prime minister of a state has established fake environmental foundation to support Nord Stream II. Speaking of which, the whole Nord Stream II was geopolitical nonsense. Many corporations consider Russia an important market and have downplayed everything Putin has done. And let's not speak of the Putin fans on the far left and far right (horsehoe?).

In addition to dependencies and downright corruption, there is also not a lot of appetite for confrontation in Germany. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but can be naive if going too far. Merkel was all about diplomacy and talk. Kramp-Karrenbauer said it best, in the past German politicians would also value diplomacy high, but would also make sure that the other side had little incentive to go beyond diplomacy. But, she was minister of defense, so she was part of the problem.

Biden confirms that European countries are not favouring to cut Russia from SWIFT. I guess it is Germany and Italy.

Right. Whatever that means.
Its what America always does best, flexing their military might. I"m sure there were many things that could have been done without triggering an all out war. Biden just said he's moving US troops over to the eastern NATO front, into countries like Lithuania Hungary Romania... he could have done that months ago. Literally anything is better than nothing.

To hell with just sanctions, man. It's the Sixth Fleet camping north of Istanbul that people want, supported by the Second Fleet in North Atlantic and off the coast of Norway if necessary.

I'm so fecking mad at the state of affairs, man.

Italy, Hungary, Cyrprus, and Germany are some countries opposing Russia's removal from SWIFT
For fecks sake...

As sad and tragic as it is for the Ukraine I support Natos decision to not intervene with military (this would just lead to WW3 and nukes) BUT: for the love of God please please please use the hardest economical sanctions possible.

Biden getting testy with Collins when questioned over the effectiveness of his sanctions

Why on earth would anyone be opposed to this?
Germany is very, very reliant on Russian gas due to the green dumbos there forcing the shutdown of their nuclear power plants, so now they are up shit creek without a paddle. Also, there is a lot of corporate interests intertwined between the two countries and we know money talks.

Similarly, for Italy as well.

Also, watching Biden now and it's a bit of a shit show.

Biden dodges China question. Any chance he is trying to deal with China in sanctioning Russia, which seems like a lost cause.
