Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

Certainly it is a win, surely you can see that, none of this is good for Russia.

It signals Wagner group having less involvement overall in Ukraine, even if Russia will have some of them in the army to fight in Ukraine, also, the total chaos here has given Ukraine momentum.

Of course it is a win.
The total chaos happened because of the guy, though. If he is gone and becomes irrelevant, their troops will be more organized and unified in that sense. Most of the main competent members of Wagner group were never fighting in UA. They are in the Africa trying to enrich themselves.

Putin and Russia have seemed weak and not good since a couple of months after the invasion. It is nothing new. Putin getting taken out would have given the UA big momentum. This one is probably not much for them, if any.

The total chaos happened because Russia is a mess.

Of course this gives Ukraine momentum, to say anything else is, well, plain nonsense.

We are all disappointed this didn't last longer than it did, but come on, man.

I mean nothing is that simple in this war. I was hoping everyone would figure that out at this point. Apparently, not.

Imagine trying to spin this as a win for Russia, holy shit, but whatever, you do you, i guess.

I might be being a bit harsh and Ill informed here, but one of the things that has really made me angry during this war is the way Lukashenko has acted.

Its a loss for RA, simple as that.
I am not going to argue about the RA winning or losing here.

I was just pointing out that I may not necessarily sagree that what happened was a 'win' for UA. Probably mainly explaining myself to lower my own expectations in case the UA does not gain much in the next few days.

I was just pointing out that I may not necessarily disagree that what happened was a 'win' for UA. Probably mainly explaining myself to lower my own expectations in case the UA does not gain much in the next few days.

Dude, Wagner literally delayed Russian supply-lines in their offensive against Ukraine, even for just a couple of days, what is there to argue?

You can say it isn't as much as you wanted, but this factor, along with others mentioned, makes it a win for Ukraine.

Can't bother to talk about this anymore, so have a good evening/night.

What a bizarre series of events. The clock has got to be ticking on Putin now, he won’t last much longer.

Russia claims to have stationed nuclear weapons there, but as far as I know they aren’t in Belarus’s control. It’s just a stage for Russia to launch them from.
Yes, sure, but what's the point in having them there in the first place. Deterrence, surely.

Not easy to read the Belarusians, anyway, and I don't suggest they will enter the war anytime soon. And I wonder what would be in Belarus' interest in the long run, anyway, Russia winning the war, or Ukraine winning it.

I mean, we are all speculating here. Does not make your point more reasonable than others, or I can't disagree with it.

Not really, Wagner occupied Rostov and also mined the main supply routes during their advance.
Yeah, based on a couple of videos. Did you know how many mines they put on what routes for how many miles, etc.?

The guy even said that he was not interrupting the war efforts and was letting them do whatever they needed to do. So, are you still confident that it will delay the supply for the troops to the point that they will lose some key territories? I know I am not.

But he took a few helicopters and pilots down. That's what I called a good impact for the UA.

Oh, the spinnings in here :wenger:

Hopefully Ukraine makes the most out of this and NATO's resolve keeps going. We'll see how do russians, Russia's allies, and Wagnerites react in the following days. They're certainly not at their highest point right now.

That happened a week ago no?

It happened 10 days ago, but its been said the cook might have planned this "coup" for 2 months. But I was a bit unsure how they would have set this up to have the lady shut the window on them? :-) If the papers would have been accepted Wagners would have belonged to the Russian Army and thus no coup.

Obviously this is bad for Putin and good for Ukraine. Exactly how good/bad remains to be seen.

Tanks on the streets and Putin fleeing Moscow can't have done internal stability any good if nothing else.

The one thing that stood out for me in the last 24 hours, is how many 'Proud American Patriots' with US Flags on their bio are pro-Russia and see Putin as a hero.

I don't think this is the end. You don't lead a coup against a dictator, march towards the countries capital and then just turn around and all is well again. Especially within 24 hours. Putin will want revenge, despite the public appearance of all being well.

I except a few to fall 'sick' and a few to 'stumble' through a top floor window.
