In all seriousness....this Ashton dude is awesome. 15 tries in 17 games, hopefully he gets a couple in against France and joins Lomu and Habana. Not that he's as good as them, but it'd be funny seeing in there with them.
 
Wilkinson's kicking was absolutely shite. The plan should have been to keep the pressure on inside the Scottish 22 and look for tries. Wilkinson was being a spastic and Flood was class when he came on. The fly-half really should be looking at keeping things ticking over and looking for tries while not conceding it cheaply..the difference couldn't be more profound between Flood and Wilkinson today. Saying that, another overall performance like today and we can kiss NZ goodbye.
 
Bad news for New Zealand Dan Carter will miss the rest of the Rugby World Cup because of a groin injury.

Nothing much to add really England were poor, lucky were in a good group. Even better for England they play France next who actually have been as bad if not worse the England.
 
My tip was an Irish v New Zealand final still think it ends that way. England somehow will get to the SF then lose to the Ireland.
 
Have a feeling its Georgia-Argentina tomorrow. Georgia with nothing to play for, but will send the scots through if they beat Argentina without them getting a bonus point.

I gotta be honest, I know the Irish say...if anyone might bottle it, it'll be them, I still thought, they would be far too good for Italy. Hasn't happened yet, mind you still a lot of time left...oh and the ref, abysmal.
 
Trust me to open my mouth, and for the Irish to blow the game wide open within minutes of the restart, with a penalty and a try.

There were far too good for Italy in the first half, let alone the second. In rugby the score is often closer at the 40 than it will be at the 80 and all the indicators were always that it would be a blow out.
 
This back row is incredible, O'Gara was imperious, we've always known this team has it in them, skill, talent, modesty, determination this is the very opposite of the Robbie Keanes of this world. Inspirational. An Irish team with a proper winners attitude who would of thought it?

The ref was terrible. And how Bowe didn't earn a penalty try at the end if baffling. It would have been some try if he hadn't of been pulled back.
 
Another great performance from Ireland this morning, them Italians seemed more interested in off the balls stuff than playing rugby and it cost big time and I've no sympathy for them.

I know...the lesser teams tend to really suffer in the 2nd half, especially in the last 20.

Ireland were on top for the whole match, but I just thought even in the 1st half, they'd have too much guile and invention for Italy.

I was introduced to Rugby with the Super 12 and Tri Nations, don't watch a lot of the Six Nations, but from what little I've seen over the past few years, Italy are the perennial whipping boys.

I sort of expected a big match, Ireland to really clobber them on the scoreboard right from the word go. But you're right...it's not always as simple as that, Ireland laid the foundation for the 2nd half demolition in the 1st 40.

I just wish the games would come quicker, The expectation is killing me.

Ireland haven't lost to England in a must win game in a very long time, you would do well to remember that before writing off us...

In fact I would go as far as to say Ireland have the better players, the stronger team and the momentum. I'd be more worried about Wales than England to be honest.

Ireland have done very well so far, but if I were them, I'm not sure I would bother turning up for the QF. Wales have scored 147 (that's ONE-HUNDRED AND FORTY-SEVEN) points over the past two games, conceding only 7. Complete annihilation is the only possible outcome against this Wales side, I'm afraid. Everyone might as well pack their bags now and save themselves the embarrassment.

You lot are terrible discipline wise, but France have been an abomination this entire WC(of course it would be like them to turn up against England and play some wonderful rugby) but it is unlikely.

NZ crushed them(them wanting to lose to get the easier QF draw had nothing to do with it) and then their loss against Samoa was shocking.

This isn't a case of them being mercurial - just SHIT.

England won't get the chance to face Ireland, because as we've already established, Wales are going to beat Ireland in the QF. If England manage to reach the SF against Wales, then good luck, because you're going to need it.

No idea, I'm not really supporting any team avidly. I wouldn't mind England and Australia to do well, as they are my place of birth and current residence but beyond that I just want to watch some good Rugby.
 
I'm not really arsed about the rugby. More that this is just about the only sport around which a Welshman can occasionally be an obnoxious and cocky git (a bit like England fans when the football WC is on).

Wales all the way...until we lose..but that's not going to happen, 'cause rugby is coming back to its rightful home.
