Rugby world cup

I am now convinced that the "so called" gap between Southern & Northern Hemisphere rugby is as good as closed. The 6 nations teams can now compete with the tri-nation boys!

Maybe true, but it's a sad day for rugby when the shit, boring NH approach can compete with the SH style.

Because that hasn't changed - France played tedious efficient rugby, England and Ireland played tedious inefficient rugby, only Wales made any attempt to be expansive. (Scotland were just shit).

It would've been off-topic in the cricket thread.

No one comes into the cricket thread calling it boring. Discuss the sport (in this case the rugby world cup) in question in the thread, keep all other things to yourself you cock.

Calm down, it's just an internet forum.

Why comment in the thread then?

Perhaps the same reason Euro snobs stick their nose in the American sports threads and spout the same tripe?

It is rather pointless but for some reason people love to rile others up. I can't stand cricket but you won't find me posting in there these days (though I probably have in the past).

The reason I posted that was that this is the second Rugby world cup I am following, and the game seems to be a lot more boring. Most of the points are scored from stationary positions(penalties and conversions). There are so few tries. I don't know anything about rugby, but this is a bit like watching a really attritional football match with the match being decided by a penno or two given away in the 90 mins.

The last time I watched a WC, I actually enjoyed it.
