Rugby World Cup 2015 | Reminiscing Thread

65 minutes that half. Must be some sort of record.

You do get the feeling that if Namibia get the next score they'll go on and win. Georgia are on the verge of a mental collapse with the errors they've made all game.

2 men down, nice central position and rucking well... they should have gone for it. Shortly after they gave away a turnover.

Yeah, story of the game for them. But I'm enjoying this game more than I should

That pass was never on! What was the Georgian full-back thinking!

This Namibian No.8 is like Shalk Burger's (somehow) less stable older brother.

I am surprised by how little drop goals are used these days

To put into context, Namibia with a plethora of yellow cards could still have won this match if they'd thought what you're thinking when they had that fabulous position near the start of the second half. Down 2 men and the Georgians standing way back, surely there was no better time to try it.

Yeah and not just this match I have felt all through the tournament thar teams don't really like using it that much these days

I guess they think they're deadly at possession and crap at kicking, or something. It's a surprise considering you have a very high percentage of getting the ball back again off the 22 dropout.

Exactly, even at the end with two minutes left they got into a great position but their penalty taker passed it rather than attempting a drop goal

What I never understand, is why people seem to go for them when they get a penalty advantage?

You have the penalty and a likely 3 points already? Why not gamble on getting 7 points and then come back for the 3?

Feck sake, my nerves.:lol: We made so many damn errors and allowed Namibia to stay hopeful the whole fecking match! When there were 2 minutes left we basically won a whole minute with that train tactic. Physically we're really good but offensively we still quite suck.

In a way, it's the fashionable tactic. It's turned out to be something high percentage for the a few of the Tier 1 nations (think how it ended up deciding the 6 Nations if you think of Henshaw's try) so it's become very appealing.

It's a key Joe Schmidt move. The low percentage, high risk play when you get the advantage. Murray looks for it as almost second nature at this stage and it makes total sense. Those moves come off maybe one time in 4 or 5, but if they do you're laughing and if they don't, you take the 3.

Is Georgia now qualified for the 2019 RWC regardless of the result of NZ vs Tonga?

New Zealand vs Tonga
Well.. after having my mind blown by Ireland last night, it's back to the rugby and desperately hoping for more of the same on Sunday. For now, the All Blacks are in toon :)

Not happy that Henderson has been dropped for the match against France. He's probably been our best forward in the tournament and offers a ball carrying ability and physical presence that the others lack.

Richie McCheat became their first centurion during the World Cup four years ago in the pool match vs France. Took over 100 years for their first centurion, now four years later, they have their 6th.

They have pretty much excavated the pitch at St James .. Come on Tonga!

This is proper weird, but there's something about Nehe Milner-Skudder that reminds me a lot of our Luke Shaw.

Only the all blacks could be winning 47-9 and the commentators still go on about how nervous they looked in the first half.
