Better than Mitchell...
No, he isn't a better winger than Mitchell, at least he has never shown it in Super Rugby.
That was class from the Aussie captain. Rugby's pretty awesome, I've got to say. Glad I watched this WC.
Cheers. I'll probably give it a go.If you can, you should follow the Super Rugby season from february, it's very enjoyable.
The Rugby Championship is a good watch as well. Did a lot for Argentina's development since they joined.Cheers. I'll probably give it a go.
Holy feck. Is that allowed though? I thought he grabbed his neck.
Nice to see the All Blacks remaining true to their mantra of attacking the opposition and not settling for just a defensive match with loads of penalties as we have seen too often in past finals. They are worthy champions IMHO.
Congratulations, New Zealand.
South Africa v New Zealand in Johannesburg with Nigel Owens as referee is usually one of , if not the best game of the year. High octane stuff .The Rugby Championship is a good watch as well. Did a lot for Argentina's development since they joined.

To Japan 2019, here we come.
Thats the year Wayne Rooney's contract runs out.
Commiserations to the Australians. The best team won.
I now fear that we may be in the era of absolute domination by the All Blacks. With their world cup hoodoo firmly over, and their challengers looking far of the pace, we may be seeing something similar to what the Australian cricket team was. Just annoying winners who couldn't be beat as no one was close to them. Annoying in the sense that they always won.
South Africa and New Zealand usually produce classics. There is also the thriller in 2009 in Dunedin with the Januarie late try. But SA have to start winning a few of these games .That fixture in 2013 is the best game I've ever seen.
Mentally they are up there..but on talent, the 95 side was one of the best ever.Aye, I've seen a few people argue that this is possibly the strongest New Zealand team of all time, largely because they don't carry the same mental baggage that previous generations did. Two in a row and the first outside of New Zealand....

I expect them to play better rugby too in future as I cant see Meyer surviving this world cup. We need a proper challenger for the All Blacks.
The one this year was a bit slow though. Started well for the Boks as they dominated the scrum, expectedly but turned south when you lost both props and had to resort to non contested scrums. Gave the All Blacks a run for their money before that though.South Africa v New Zealand in Johannesburg with Nigel Owens as referee is usually one of , if not the best game of the year. After that QF, there is certainly a lot of work to be done. But here's to the next four years of trying.France and Noves will take that challenge.
The All Blacks never seem to run out of good players..its ridiculous. The one this year was a bit slow though. I reckon Boks had got a good team going though. Kriel looks a star. De Allende wasn't bad as well. DeEtzebeth and De Jager everyone knows about. Le Roux is unquestionably world class. And that Serfontein looks like a specimen as well.
All Blacks will be going thru major changes though so question remains whether they're going to remain dominant after losing many players that formed the core of the team. Excellent ready made replacements though in Codie Taylor, Fekitoa, Cruden, Barrett, Sam Cane, Sopoanga among others.

Well the money and the talent is certainly there.., but there's no haka performing machine in front of them..it has to be said, the performances of the majority of the European teams were shameful at this world cup(Barring Scotland and Wales), and with their resources, they should be doing much more. One or two have to step up and start troubling the All Blacks.I have seen France become a dominant VolleyBall team, so we have to be able to do it in Rugby.
I was surprised Kriel wasn't nominated in that breakthrough player of the year award. Did alright for the Bulls and straightaway became the 1st choice outside centre for the Boks, still young as well. The All Blacks never seem to run out of good players..its ridiculous.
As for the Springboks, they certainly pushed the AB's the hardest, but its still a loss at the end of the day. A more expansive coach will be required, and also the fact that the golden oldies are retiring will be a good thing too.
Sonny Bill Williams giving his medal to a kid who got tackled by the security guard after running to SBW to get a hug.
Its like the year Cannavaro was world player of the year after winning the world cup. Waisake Naholo should have been nominated as well considering the Super Rugby season he had but the nominations relied heavily on the RWC I guess which why even the young Georgian scrumhalf for nominated. Not saying he isn't good but plenty other emerging players who's had a better season.

I believe that glory hunter is going to be given a free pass straight into New Zealand's sevens team for next years Olympics. Two world cup titles, rugby league star, Union star, a part time boxer..He is living the dream.
Does he go back to League again now?
..to be fair, he will not be the only 15 star there..Even Habana wanted to play in the 7's world cup if I recall..everyone will want a piece of Rio. Its not fair to the guys that have played sevens all the careers, but life aint fair.I believe that glory hunter is going to be given a free pass straight into New Zealand's sevens team for next years Olympics.

Heyneke needs to leave for his own good. Finishing 3rd is nothing to brag about , but he at least gets to leave with some grace. If he stays on the job, I fear it will be like a Brendan Rodgers situation whereby he'll be fired immediately when the team is struggling. His grace period is over. The Japan loss hasnt been forgotten either. In 2013, and parts of 2014 they played some pretty nice attacking rugby under Heyneke Meyer albeit the majority of it came in South Africa, the problems would always come when they would go into their shell away from home. Either he has to change or he needs to bring in a different attack coach or they bring in somebody else to coach the team. If it's workable, they should bring Edide Jones into the Springbok fold to help their attack. It came as no surprise the two best attacking teams made the final.
