Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Who's "them"? This manager has only signed the lad Dorgu who got the red.
Did we not see them stupidly let in a lot of last minute goals last year because of utter brain dead decisions, including stupid penalties

You lot have some serious short memories or what?

I can’t believe he took off Garnacho. He may be wasteful but at least he creates. I don’t even know what Hojlund does anymore.

It’s a hard situation but he’s swung the game for Ipswich even more.

I lost faith after Christmas so I’m not surprised anymore. We are crap. There is no confidence in this team and whilst the manager isn’t solely to blame he’s not doing anything to improve the situation.

He needs to go. Everyone is talking about planning for next season. We should be worrying about survival.

Garnacho is no better than any other attackers though, he's summed by his chance just before the red card when he had the chance to shoot or pay in Hojlund, and instead dithered because he's staring at the floor and ended up losing the ball.
Garnacho is literally our only player able to take a player on and create something.

One game and one result, sure, or one a couple of bad decisions. But jesus, the other managers had an idea. This just seems like he knows one formation and one way to play. A manager at this level must be able to adapt, make decisions based on available players and raise the morale and confidence of the players.

Since he took over it’s been Amorim show on every presser, but it’s been a no show on the pitch every week.

meh he hasnt been on form this year by any means. He has always had a wasteful streak in him, but seems to be the main streak now for him vs finishing.

Seriously, feck this guy. Hojlund and Zirkzee staying on ahead of Garnacho when your outlet is pace down the wing, is a sackable decision.

Pace down the wing is the job of the wing back though, with a man down we can't afford to leave Garnacho sat out wide, and he's completely ineffective in central positions.

Yes, but this isn't the time to say "these players" when it's not even been one of them that's cost us this game.

Wow. Unbelievable. Bad luck for the deserved red card. Blown away he didn’t go to a 4-4-1. His obstinate and dogmatic decision to play a 5-3-1 is ridiculous.

@Mr Pigeon @golden_blunder and all mods, I think it’s time to put up a poll for Amorim: Sack immediately, keep, or wait and evaluate in the following weeks.

He’s got more quality than Hojlund and can play wing back and get us up the pitch

We’re essentially playing with 9 I bet Hojlund is lucky to get 2 touches this half. Pointless

Sticking with a back 5 is criminal and this is the first time I’ve questioned the manager

For me he has a half of football to survive at this club.

A loss would be the final straw.

As many have already mentioned, if we weren't so cash-strapped, we should already be looking for an interim manager.

I’m usually one of the first to lose patience with a manager but you’d have to be a monumental melt to somehow blame him for Onana throwing the ball in his net twice and Dorgu deciding to try break someone’s leg when we’re in cruise control
Those are not the only things to happen in this match.

but it's still the GK, there will always be a player, that's the problem. But no let's not blame players, always the manager

The GK has been making so many mistakes, it's not like this is one off

It's Amorim's job to get the most out of the players available to him and he's failing miserably.

Can’t blame Amorim for Dorgu nearly breaking someone’s leg, or the pass back between the clown in the net. Yeah, the sub was probably wrong but we shoot ourselves in the foot before we even have a chance.
The sub is not why we conceded 2nd goal

For whatever reason, the manager doesn't rate him as a wingback, so given that it's no surprise he went off, given that he can't operate effectively centrally.

Look at the shape of the team. It’s a fecking mess. That’s on him. Insisting on always having five defenders on the pitch regardless of circumstance is on him. Taking off our only real outlet is on him. He’s the manager, if he isn’t along the players better what is he getting paid for?
you can think the team selection and shape is wrong, which is debatable, but is that the reason we conceded those goals and are a man down?

My problem with him tonight is not requesting the players to go for the throat at 2-1 up and 11 men, at 3-1 we'd have the game won. Then not subbing Hojlund has been the next mistake, taking Garnacho off has killed the little width we had. The last mistake is at 2-1 and 10 men, not making sure we sit in and handle the pressure coming at us until HT.

It's just been an absolute shitshow, again.

I genuinely thought today would be an occasion where no one would even attempt to spin this on the manager, but I was wrong.

Won’t happen. Already loads of heat on the club for the amount they paid for hiring and firing staff.

He’ll be there in August for the start of the new season. But won’t last to the end of 2025 if this carries on

Which to be clear, I say with prediction and not what I want. The club is a mess anyway. He needs time to try to sort it

Hardly in cruise control. The football is still horrendous

If we dont have the players to play his formation, I expect a manager worth his salt to alter his formation suit the players he has. No matter how shit those players are

Playing with 10 players every week will always go against you

Onana will get him sacked like the previous muppet before him

Heh you put me in the same sentence as geebs like we're equals. He's going to love that.

Just get him out. Honestly sounds extreme and we can talk all day about how he hasn't got the players he wants but the decisions he has made with the squad we do have have been atrocious.

Subbing Garnacho off after the Dorgu red just cemented it for me. Playing with 10 literally means you're going to need counter attacking pace. He's won us free kicks, ran at people, ran in behind all half etc. What are the 2 absolute donuts Zirzkee and Hojlund offering better instead? We attacked down the left hand side 60% of the time and now we're completely null there. Not to mention Bruno is having to drop in at CB non stop and having to literally scream at players where to move and go, it's embarassing.

I think we are bad no matter the formation but this obsession with three at the back is bizarre.

Why should coach be wedded to a formation? It doesn’t make sense.

Just look at Forest they don't have world class players but their manager is getting the most out of what he has. Amorim should take note.

The club will probably wait and see what Ipswich do beyond this game. If they go on a run after this then relegation beckons for us, at which point you would think they'd have to take the hit and get an interim in to try and keep us up.

I feel like he plays so defensive that it invites pressure directly on to us. Add that with the low quality of player and it just crumbles.

His age and experience really showed in the first three minutes today

Perhaps that's why he's struggling... He should've never been given the chance at Ajax to break through to begin with!
God!

I have been saying that we shouldn't have bought Onana from way before it became cool to say so. The argument was that the manager won't put a 18-19 year old ahead of him.

I am sure you'll get it this time because I am tired.

And to end...:lol::lol:

Why do we have the manager thread open during matchday but not the players? I would like to vent out my frustration at that absolute liability we have in goal.

He seems a bit lost. He didn’t expect this level of shitshow and isn’t sure what to do

But if you sack him the shitshow is still there.

Basically just close the club

We can blame him for subbing off Garnacho and leaving it be until half time

I'm surprised he opted to take of Garnacho, as he at least offers something in the build-up. Would much rather he'd have taken off Hojlund.
