Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

People are blaming Amorim for this? He must be fuming, the players are throwing this game away.
some on here have already made their mind up, it's silly. You clearly see players doing utter stupidness, yet it's always Amorims fault...

he'll probably lose this now mind you

Can’t blame Amorim for Dorgu nearly breaking someone’s leg, or the pass back between the clown in the net. Yeah, the sub was probably wrong but we shoot ourselves in the foot before we even have a chance.

Subbing Garnacho off was a shocking decision.

We're going to lose at home to fecking Ipswich.

The only way he's manager at the end of the season is if we legit can't afford to sack him.

He’s probably going to leave the club soon enough as the worst manager in our post-war history.

I feel he’s made a big mistake taking Garnacho off. The team is in a double low block, we’ve lost our entire left side of attack.

Still playing 5 at the back with 10 men at home to Ipswich is really something

It’s an appalling sub, at least wait til half time to assess.

Having Hojlund on the pitch is like playing with ten men anyway so it may as well have been him.

I’ve been overwhelmingly supportive of Amorim and believe he should get time to turn things around, however, that cowardly substitution is not the Man Utd way at home to bloody Ipswich.

We have zero outlets now in the second half and none on the bench either. Totally bizarre

You don’t see Liverpool or Arsenal players making stupid decisions. Because they have proper managers, not this pretender. He is statistically the worst manager we’ve ever had.

I really think a system with wing-backs lowers a team's ceiling.

That said, the performances lately have been dire. We've regressed a lot since his 1st month in charge. I get why people think he deserves a pre-season, but it's hard to be hopeful without some signs of progression.

Keeper gifts the opposition two goals and people are on again about the manager ffs.

Stop it, just stop it

We've seen them make stupid decisions for years especially under EtH

This forum needs to stop giving these players freaking passes, they're clearly to blame here why they making this hard on themselves

1st time I’ve actually said what the feck are you doing Ruben .
Taking off Garnacho was an absolute shocking call

By your logic SAF should have been booted out before he got success

Well setting aside that SAF did quite well in his 1st full season and won a Cup in his 3rd.

The opposite of Success>Longevity means you give every manager 5 years regardless of results and performances in the hope they magically become Ferguson mk2.

Look at the shape of the team. It’s a fecking mess. That’s on him. Insisting on always having five defenders on the pitch regardless of circumstance is on him. Taking off our only real outlet is on him. He’s the manager, if he isn’t along the players better what is he getting paid for?

He's the worst manager we've ever had. By every metric. The eye test, the stats, everything backs it up.

He's absolutely clueless, Garnacho is the only spark in this team going forward.

Garnacho is no better than any other attackers though, he's summed by his chance just before the red card when he had the chance to shoot or pay in Hojlund, and instead dithered because he's staring at the floor and ended up losing the ball.

He has a hard-on for Hojlund, doesn’t he? He never gets dropped and Garnacho always gets scapegoated.
Pretty much, Zirkzee got like 2 starts in a row before the injury crisis and was sent straight back to bench that was after Hojlund being shit for weeks.

I’m usually one of the first to lose patience with a manager but you’d have to be a monumental melt to somehow blame him for Onana throwing the ball in his net twice and Dorgu deciding to try break someone’s leg when we’re in cruise control

How is it Amorim’s fault that we’ve conceded from two dreadful errors and had a man sent off?
Some fans have a hard on to get Amorim out because he isn't playing their favourite player. Amorim unless they get relegated gets a free pass for the rest of the season.
I don't think fans realize the consequence of firing another manager in the same season.
You fire Amorim, you loose all progress with the system you try to implement. Next manager starts with massive pressure. And players know they can hide while manager takes blame. It creates a toxic environment for any manager to work in. Knowing you don't get a season to make it work.

They're cutting staff left and right, I don't think they're gonna pay Amorim ~4 million or whatever it is to walk away. I think we're stuck with him.

He is not helping himself is he? You go a man down, your options are: you either try and defend in a 4, retain the back 5 by moving Garna to lwb, or hook the ineffective striker. You don’t take off your one bright spark and attacking threat. Crazy substitution.

Not being able to start games strongly is something we’ve always struggled with. Is it a manager thing? Surely managers must prepare the team correctly

Who's "them"? This manager has only signed this guy Dorgu who got the red.

I'm not being funny but I don't see how anyone's confidence could not be severely dented right now. I understand that Ten Hag left behind a mess but Amorim has come in and made it fecking considerably worse, which I didn't think was possible.

One has to be naive in the extreme, in thinking that this is a free hit for him until the next summer. There will come a point—rightly or wrongly—where Brexit Jim will think it makes more sense to lose £15 million or whatever in compensation, than spending 150+ million of a system and a manager that may not work.
