Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Can’t blame Amorim for Dorgu nearly breaking someone’s leg, or the pass back between the clown in the net. Yeah, the sub was probably wrong but we shoot ourselves in the foot before we even have a chance.
We can blame him for subbing off Garnacho and leaving it be until half time

I'm surprised he opted to take of Garnacho, as he at least offers something in the build-up. Would much rather he'd have taken off Hojlund.

Some fans have a hard on to get Amorim out because he isn't playing their favourite player. Amorim unless they get relegated gets a free pass for the rest of the season.
I don't think fans realize the consequence of firing another manager in the same season.
You fire Amorim, you loose all progress with the system you try to implement. Next manager starts with massive pressure. And players know they can hide while manager takes blame. It creates a toxic environment for any manager to work in. Knowing you don't get a season to make it work.
And some fans have a hard on for blindly supporting managers even when they do absolutely nothing to deserve it. What progress? Does any of this look like progress with you?

11th, no expectations from anyone whatsoever of anything meaningful for the rest of the season. He could not have been under any less pressure than when he joined and he's managed to totally screw that up.

Not really his fault Dorgu has two brain farts.

Negative sub was odd considering Hojlund has been invisible, I suspect it till be a long second half.

I was never sure about the whole wing back thing when we signed him.

My feeling is that we setup way too negative against Ipswich at home. Looking at the XI for second half we have only 3 offensive mindes players on the pitch in Bruno, Hojlund and Zirkzee. Even with 11 players its far too negative. Especially when our fullbacks arent even offensive minded!

This is not good at all..

He seems a bit lost. He didn’t expect this level of shitshow and isn’t sure what to do

But if you sack him the shitshow is still there.

Basically just close the club

Apparently, I think getting a new manager will mean Onana turns world class, because of systems innit

A year in the championship could be good for us honestly. Just get rid of the drama and the expectations.

I think we are bad no matter the formation but this obsession with three at the back is bizarre.

Why should coach be wedded to a formation? It doesn’t make sense.
Yeah pretty weird and also not something I’ve seen from any other top manager.

Like I understand having a preferred system, but being completely unyielding with it is pretty stupid

you can think the team selection and shape is wrong, which is debatable, but is that the reason we conceded those goals and are a man down?
It’s isn’t debatable. It’s a tangible shambles. It’s not reason for those things but maybe having a better shape wouldn’t have led us to a position where we’re under pressure. Maybe not having Yoro on the left wing and instead, had a winger there and Bruno not at centre could’ve led to another goal.

I genuinely thought today would be an occasion where no one would even attempt to spin this on the manager, but I was wrong.
No one expects miracles of him but maybe not THIS bad. We’re bad but we’re better than 15th. We still have good players in this squad, players that would get into plenty of other teams and thrive.

Garnacho is literally our only player able to take a player on and create something.

He isn't very good at that though, that's the issue, he can only run with his head down, and he's incredibly wasteful.

Zirkzee is much better at holding on to the ball, Hojlund in fairness is equally as ineffective as Garnacho, so he could have gone off, but he can operate centrally so it's a coin toss really.

With great teams like Peps Barcelona, you usually knew exactly how they were going to line up and play. Yet there's usually very little you could do about it.

With this Manchester United team, you know exactly which formation they will use, who is likely to play in each position and how they will play throughout the game. Yet there's very little they seem to want to do about it.

Basically everything that has been said about ten Hag also applies to him.

And after all we have seen in the past years there are still people holding up to that "he needs time, he needs  his players" narrative.

He's the next huge failure of this club and I doubt we have many failures left before going to the Championship.

Amorim may have shite the bed with the sub, but instead of questioning why he had to make the sub in the first place, you would naturally think to question the players making stupid individual mistakes

no... let's go for a sacking

How on Earth is this his fault? We actually played well in between two Onanas (it clearly should just be a synonym for inexplicably idiotic goaltending) and a questionable red.

Maybe he should just start playing a few of the CB's in attack instead? Martinez has a couple of goals too. They're much better than Hojilund and Zirkzee.

Exactly.

All those frothing at the mouth on the forum right now are morons.

He bears some of the responsibility for sure. The communication error on the first goal, somewhat. He picks the team.

Yoro is not playing left wing, idk what you're watching but if that's your understanding of the formation I can see why you think it's a mess.

God!

I have been saying that we shouldn't have bought Onana from way before it became cool to say so. The argument was that the manager won't put a 18-19 year old ahead of him.

I am sure you'll get it this time because I am tired.

And to end...:lol::lol:
Well we can agree on that at least.

What’s Bruno and what’s Dorgu?

How’s Dorgu not attack minded?

Top reds just see what they want to see. No rational human being can look at our performances since he joined and tell me meaningful progress has been made. That's Communist Russia levels of willful obtuseness. I just don't understand why people get so attached to managers. We don't owe these guys anything. They have to earn time and trust. It can't just be handed to them on a platter.

If you meant he was going into advanced positions sometimes then just say that. You'd probably complain if pep was our manager that the formation is a mess.
I thought was blindingly obvious. I’ll post in neon letters next time.

I’d probably have less reason to complain if we won football matches. Pretty sure Guardiola has never refused to play a single second without 5 defenders on the pitch. If we had a defender have to go off the pitch for treatment for thirty seconds Amorim would break into a cold sweat. I remember Mourinho getting maligned for doing it to see out games or away to Liverpool. Now we’re supposed to be happy we do it every week and lose.

I think there is a middle ground. He has unquestionably been handed an absolute shit sandwich. But, we’ve been really poor. I think if we hit 40+ points, he should be safe and we should continue the experiment next season.
