Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

while you guys will be analysing 343 formations and the like, I'm gonna be on #dripwatch all season

finally have a manager that understands drip is life
ETH wore the same suit all week when he first came to Manchester. Let's see if Amorim can mix it up, positive start so far.

So is a wingback or a pure midfielder or a winger what Amorim likes the most for the RM and LM spot? What’s been his preferences in the past?

Portuguese people get behind one of their own the same way caf gets behind managers

I kid, but erm he’s done good work so far and circumstances seem right for a new guy so hopefully all these messianic predictions pay off

Portugese nationalism?
Yep that’s part of it.
People here need to adjust their expectations.

Plus it’s Coentrão, good guy but he is a walking meme.

Amorim is doing great but he is not 2004 Mourinho, yet at least.

I think he is going to improve you a lot, but it’s the Premier League, every game is a challenge, quite different from the Portuguese League.

We have to see he will adapt to the constant pressure. He had a much easier time at Sporting in that regard.

"Welcome to Ruben, Manchester"

These grown men with their little sewing clamps with United kits in really do my head in. Hanging around a fecking restaurant at night waiting for a bloke to come out and sign it so you can bung it on ebay. fecking nobheads.

Not sure what to make of this, but seemingly every person in Portugal seems to think Ruben is a genius.

He'll succeed if we nail our recruitment and bring in players who suit his system. He'll fail if we don't, it's that simple really.

What doomed Ten Hag in the end was his shocking eye for talent which led to him building a squad who couldn't do what he wanted.

Dude it’s not the same.
She explained it, “een”, or “in” you can hear the “n” at the end.

The “im” is a nasal sound, doesn’t sound like “in”.
Ok, whatever. I’m not going to argue with you about your native language. All I would say is in English INE and EEN makes the same sound so regardless of how i spelt it I think we are arguing about the same thing. :+1:

Okay, I’ve got this……

Ruben is a boy's name of Hebrew origins meaning “behold, a son”. This name stems from the Hebrew name Reuben, the first-born son of Jacob in the Old Testament.

Amorim is a Portuguese surname. A habitational name from any of the various places named Amorim, originally (villa) Amorini, from the name of the estate owner.
Amorim is derived from Latin, and means dating/love or couples place. The Portuguese surnames Amorim and Morim can be traced to this parish.

So therefore the easiest thing to call him is Sonny McLovin. Nice.

Does it? I'm not a native English speaker, but spine and spleen sounds pretty different to me.
