Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

When is the first press conference with him going to be?

edit: 2.1k people tracking his plane. Why are so many people tracking it?

Come on lads, whip out the flight tracking!

Is it just me or does that plane look like it's up for a fight?

Wonder if we will get some sort of MUTV interview today, was hoping we would but the flight timing suggests it may be tomorrow.

I always get nervous with private jets. Especially with our club's propensity to cheap out on things like this these days. Just hope we didn't fly him in a rusty bird.

Imagine leaving Portugal in such weather and landing in Manchester in November (unless it's actually the only sunny day in November today over there)

I'm sure we won't have a Sala incident pretty much ever again. That was due to three major errors.

 Christ.

I'm sure he'll be okay.

You think our best midfielder over the time he's been in the squad shouldn't play in favour of Casemiro who up until the last few games has been dog shit for the best part of 18 months? You don't think that's controversial?
Here is what I think :

- Casemiro has been good this season by his own individual performances, not just the last few games. He also had a good first season for us.

- we played Bruno as a 10 and will likely do the same with another 10, which means we need 2 players behind who have chemistry to break up play with a focus on one also being on ball carrying.

- last year a major issue for Casemiro was being left alone as the sole destroyer which he can't do. That is not to say he has no role, and there's a lot of value in him being a 6/8 hybrid with the younger more defensive Ugarte next to him.

- Mainoo is still a kid who was thrown into the first team a year ago. He has his own flaws, notably in being quite slow off the ball. Mainoo has superb ball retention and can glide through the pitch but I question his acceleration. He is certainly a star for the future but that does not mean we should burden him with expectation now. Especially while we have two midfielders who appear to have good chemistry.

Ultimately we have enough game time to rotate those 3 players among 2 starting places. But we shouldn't rush to drop Casemiro when he's playing quite well and meshing nicely with Ugarte.
