Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Balls of steel to start Bayindir.
ditto selecting JZ as 5th pen taker

I feel like many players will go to war for him and we need to build a team of this kind of characters. The change in players' confidence he's been able to instill is amazing and goes to show he's made for this job.

Will definitely still be bumps but at least there is character coming through. We should be signing some players that help the process along as quickly as possible.

Has to be intelligently done, mind you. Who the feck knows if that’ll happen.

Finally we can play vs top teams and expect a good match!
The time has come to show this unity, concentration and will vs weaker teams and hopefully to trash someone really bad haha!

Under Amorin, there's a character, spirit and fight in the team that I haven't seen for a long long time.

He's not afraid to make decisions that are best for the team, including using substitutions bravely and tactically and the dropping those providing an unwelcome distraction.

An absolute huge couple of weekends.
Everything looks infinitely rosier now than 2 weeks ago.

This post deserves a ban.
Why?

He hasn't said anything outrageous. We have set-up defensively with 5 at the back off late & I too hope that changes with the fixtures coming up. We need to go back to playing a more attacking player as a WB.

It was okay for the last two games as we were the underdogs. However, we do need to be more attacking. Amorium has fixed the mentality issue (I hope it's more permanent) and now has to work on improving our style of play. I am sure he'll too.

We all feared the worst with Liverpool and Arsenal after 4 games on the row and we've showed two performances full of character so fair play to him.

Time to get some points on the board in the league now starting with Thursday.

He has instilled fight, is improving set pieces, is a great man manager.

That’s all you can ask right now, hopefully we recruit wisely and progress from here.

How fecking long was it that we didn’t win a game against a “top 6” team with ETH?

Feels good man

I will only declare that there has been a mentality shift after we win our next three home games. We all know what to expect after the last few years against Southampton and Brighton. Will be interesting to see how up for it the players are against the lower teams and how we create chances when teams sit deep. Good signs though!

Amorim has read the Bayindir situation really well. Obviously seen a lot of good in training and just what he needed to be confident and break the ice as it were.

I could see Amorim smiling during ET, he knew it was on and we could navigate through this.

Goes to Anfield and Emirates in the space of a week, and makes us look good on both occasions. We need to back him with the appropriate players.

In such a short time he’s beat city away, should have beat Liverpool away but matched them. And now beat Arsenal away.

I thought things were looking rosy 2 weeks ago. It was obvious relatively early on he knew what he was doing.

There was just a section that looked at results and took them at face value without taking into account the mess he walked into, the performances in general outside of individual errors costing us, the players he had missing/available for certain games, etc.

We're 100% going to drop more points against weaker teams. Let's see if the fanbase can remember performances like these and the context of our season, and keep calm unlike after outplaying City.

The madman was actually enjoying it

There’s a lot to be said for this. We’re so far from being a squad that can compete but if he can continue to get performances from people that want to play for the shirt, that’s a massive improvement.

It's so nice to see our team not collapse under pressure like they would do all the time under Ten Hag.

He’s been here five mins and we’ve avoided defeats at city, Liverpool and Arsenal. Under ETH just not something that could happen.

Did anyone see a smile on amorims face when amad and zirkzee broke through arsenal at the beginning of the first half. I think he feels and sees something that he hasn’t so far, which I love.

If we carry that spirit on throughout the season I have no worries. We felt like a solid team to beat today, including luck in that formula.

Yes, it takes time for a new manager to achieve what he wants. He has a very difficult job at a club that is dysfunctional in many ways, but the players are beginning to understand what Amorim wants and seem to be buying into the project. It’s very early days, but we have signs of hope. Perhaps this transfer window will enable him to start the process of getting his own squad.

I wonder if part of that was not having to worry about VAR. These players are SO worried about a camera catching them hold a shirt that it removes all physicality. And when you've got a team whose one tactic is to crowd the goalkeeper, that makes things very difficult.

Hopefully, when we inevitably drop points due to individual errors again, people remember performances like this.

Unfortunately, we all saw what happened when we dropped points due to individual mistakes after outplaying City at the Etihad. There's a section itching to criticise him.
Exactly. I'd rather it be an issue of personnel than the system. Couldn't get over people saying he needs to drop his system after a month, I'm pretty knee-jerk and even I thought that reaction was OTT.

We struggled at times today but there was nothing wrong with our attacking endeavour against Liverpool.

Really like this manager he’s the one. If we get him the players he needs then I have zero doubts about him being a success

I think it's just something we're gonna have to get used to until we get new attackers, 2/3rds of our attack on any given game week are going to be 22 or younger, they're going to be inconsistent unfortunately.

Some really impressive results with a demoralised, inadequate squad which doesn't suit his playing style.

If the Galzers and their Ineos staff stop dicking around and get him the players he needs we will go places
