Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Interesting. Amorim said that he asked to join at the end of the season but United said it was now or never. He also says that he loves the current context of United because it enables him to do things his way.
Damn that is interesting. Think we took a risk with an ultimatum. Glad it paid off.

He says that there were 2 clubs that paid his 10 million clause in the recent past but he opted to stay. One club offered 3 times more than what United offered him now.

Very interesting.

He's only talking about United in the 11th of November. Disappointing for you guys. You will have to wait.

Bruh? She asked a question in English and you answered in Portuguese.
That was strange. But I understand his answer. While he's still managing Sporting, he won't talk about United in detail.

The 2 clubs were Liverpool and West Ham right?

West Ham wont have been able to make him a huge offer so it must be Liverpool that offered him 3 times more.

He says he isn't getting any Sporting player in January and that Gyokeres is too expensive

Doesn’t mean he isn’t expensive.
True. But a lot of release clauses aren’t and are put in place to make the player join them and so they don’t get priced out of a bigger move if you like.

He ain’t going anywhere then.
He will go next year. I think he made an agreement with Amorim and our President to stay one more year to play in the CL and try to win the league and Sporting will let him go bellow the clause next season.

It looks like he really really wanted us. We didn’t agree to him coming to us at season end. Giving him an ultimatum - now or never. We didn’t agree to pay him as much as other clubs. We didn’t agree to give him a long term contract either. Damn real hardball negotiations by Omar!

According to City he was never on their list and they are still waiting for Peps decision on whether he is staying anyway
Funny how they’ve reported that now he’s joined us yet prior to us being interested in Amorim he was number 1 for city and even the bookies favourite to replace pep

He knew he wouldn’t have to wait to long for our job the way ETH was going. He did hope that we’d have an interim until the end of the season though and then Amorim could have finished his season there.

Press conference over. The juicy United details only in the 11th. He gave a couple of interesting answers with saying that he asked to join United in the end of the season during three days but United said no. Interesting that he isn't taking any Sporting players in January. Probably doesn't want to further derail our season. But he just said January. Didn't mention next year.

Who else could pay three times more than we are? Because it's not Liverpool and West Ham.
I mean it seems obvious to me that it was some Saudi club.

West Ham probably tried to get him last season, but I believe Ruben Amorim only took that interview to try to force Liverpool to hire him, but they went with Arne Slot.
I'm 100% sure he'd be Liverpool's coach this season if Liverpool would have chosen him. They didn't, so he isn't.
