Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Just seen that couple of his assistant coaches are like 28 and 29-year olds. Imagine if we have another case of McKenna here where the players won't listen to them.
Amorim isn’t going to deal with bullshit like Ole did.

No more manger...... we are modern now... ineos you trendy bastards, i love it.

Now the coach is plug and play. We dont fully place our destiny on one person anymore

This is a mistranslation. There was news that Amorim would earn with Man Utd 3x what he earned with Sporting. Amorim said that other clubs tried to sign him before and he would earn 3x what he earns now (with Sporting, not Man Utd), so the move to Man Utd is not because of the money: if money was the reason, he would have left before because he received a similar offer before.
It's not a mistranslation.
He clearly said there was a club willing to pay him 3x as much as Man Utd. He said it as proof that he did not say YES to Utd because of the salary bump, but because he wanted the Utd job and the Utd challenge.
He even went as far as saying that whatever money Utd was going to pay him above Sporting's current salary was irrelevant, because he can't even spend Sporting's salary anyway. And then he laughed.

Ruben Amorim was a Benfica player for a long time and was possibly earning upwards of 1M€/year. That would have been enough to set him up for life already. The salary he's getting as a coach is just icing on the cake.

Not to say they would have chosen him but I recall reading that Liverpool didn't continue their pursuit due to his high release clause. I think it was circa €20m in the summer before he signed a new contract.
Maybe that was the reason. Or the 3 CBs. Or something else.
But make no mistake: if Liverpool (or any other top club like Real, Barcelona, Man City, Man Utd) really went for him and was willing to get him a salary bump, he'd be there now instead of at Sporting.

Amorim is a top manager with high goals, which is why it made no sense to interview for West Ham last year (other than trying to force Liverpool's hand).

To be fair, most of that squad isn't here anymore so he'll have a lot less to deal with but we still have leftovers from that time in the form of Maguire, Lindelof, Dalot, Shaw, Bruno and Rashford.

Lindelof most probably leaves in the summer if not in Jan and I don't doubt the professionalism of Maguire, Dalot or Bruno. It's Shaw and Rashford I'm a bit worried about.

City are not offering Amorim £20m or whatever. And obviously neither would Liverpool. It will have been an offer from Saudi
Definitely Saudi. I would imagine behind the scenes they are offering lots of managers and players in their prime big money in their laughable effort to be seen as a serious league.

Rashford hasn’t performed consistently to be considered a superstar. So the club will not put up with him if Amorim has an issue.

Dalot has a great mentality. I think he will enjoy having a high-standards Portuguese manager at the helm.

I’m really optimistic about Dalot in Amorim’s system and under this regime.

Agreed. His attitude and mentality seem an ideal pairing with Amorim’s approach.

I hope Amorim can have a strong effect on all our Portuguese speakers. Dalot, Bruno, Casemiro, heck even Antony. They could all use a boost and be important for us moving forward.

I honestly think he will have them running through walls for him.

He loves Sporting and wants to be respectful I think we’ll hear him talk more about United when he officially starts

Listen again, from 5:20 mark:

Gyokeres seems like someone Madrid would beat us to and then make him their no. 9 for six successful years.
Very good players can make a manager look better than they are and bad players can make them look worse. We have to get this striker.

He hasn't yes, but it remains to be seen how much influence he has on the dressing room and how much backing Amorim will get from both the dressing room and the leadership team if things go awry between them.

I read he pushed aside established players who didn’t agree with him and promoted kids from the academy. Hope he follows that here. He will be supported. No player is bigger than the club is more evident now than ever.

In his presser he was asked about sporting players reactions, he said something along the lines of they know if they give me shit they won't be playing

Ele diz "a muita gente a dizer que e pelo dinheiro, eu ganhava trez vezes mais no ultimo clube que quis pagar a minha clausula".

He's clearly saying he'd be earning 3x as much at the last club that wanted to pay his clause. there's no mistranslation. He's saying that in the context of choosing United. It's nothing to do with money, because the last club that wanted to pay his exit clause was willing to pay 3x more

THis would make more sense.

Really happy how he reiterated that United was the opportunity that he couldn’t let go. Good work by the management team to flex a little muscle. Overall, Sporting have been given consideration too so seems like a win-win outcome has been witnessed.

This is where INEOS would have to show the players that they will not get away with the bullshit that they pulled under previous managers.

It could be 3x more (also), thus similar to United's.
