He’s the one isn’t he?
“All eras must end”…his ended today!I’m not used to such score in league games. 4:0!
ETH created a legacy but in the wrong way.
Make a plan to handle Havertz trotting over to lean on the goalkeeper at every corner and we win that game. They just have to have Odegaard back whilst we're missing two key players due to poxy yellow's. It'll certainly be a struggle, but hopefully Ruben has a solid plan.
I’m confident we’ll give them a game because it seems like we have a plan now.Big test will be Wednesday night. Can we compete against the strongest in the league?
It saves many people mentally and psychologically!“All eras must end”…his ended today!
I’ll certainly worry if Arsenal smash us! The fear is the effort is back but will it last, that’s what we’ve seen before. Hopefully Amorim is the one who can sustain it.Just enjoy it man, we’ve moved on a manager clearly out of his depth and got one that was an upgrade. If it doesn’t work out then it doesn’t work out but these aren’t bad players, Ten Hag just convinced us all they were useless and he needed 5 years to fix it. We watch to see our team win, don’t worry about what might happen.
I actually prefer Shaw to Martinez cause he is quicker and might deal with Saka better. They just have to have Odegaard back whilst we're missing two key players due to poxy yellow's. It'll certainly be a struggle, but hopefully Ruben has a solid plan.
Honestly, it’s fecking insane as always."who is available?"
"no manager could do better with these players"
Ffs
My confidence in him grows every week.
- We already have an identity. You can see the areas where he needs a better fit but there’s clarity as to what we are trying to do
- He clearly knows talent. None of the head scratching selections (or exclusions) from under the last manager
- Two above gives me confidence with new signings. We should hopefully get quality players going forward and get stronger
Doubt it. Don’t think we matchup well physically at all right now so I’d expect us to cede some ground and play transitionalBig test will be Wednesday night. Can we compete against the strongest in the league?
You can be sure that if we struggle, the caf and the match day thread will be entirely understandable and reasonable about it.They just have to have Odegaard back whilst we're missing two key players due to poxy yellow's. It'll certainly be a struggle, but hopefully Ruben has a solid plan.
I actually prefer Shaw to Martinez cause he is quicker and might deal with Saka better.
Thanks, we’re all thoroughly miserable now.The thing is, Everton were terrible today, not downplaying the team's performance, but Everton were terrible today and we used to struggle against terrible teams, he made the team very solid defensively and that's a good start, not conceding goals, then scoring 4 goals will give these lot the confidence boost they need which will allow Amorim to further enhance his style and make the players believe in him.
Let's not get too excited and then be deflated when we lose to Arsenal (not saying we can't win but just keeping it real) this is the pain part, games against stronger opponents will be very hard to win now, but this team should be able to dispatch the canon fodder type of teams like Everton and Southampton easily.
Fair enough. Perhaps too soon after an awesome win that we never seen in 2.5 years. Thanks, we’re all thoroughly miserable now.
It’s the bare minimum a manager should get out of the team, it’s a building block towards everything else. If the lads won’t run through a brick wall for you, you’ve done something wrong to lose their trust. It could be your shit system, it could be that you’re all stick, no carrot, it could just be that you’re a bit of a dick and lack charisma.I’ll certainly worry if Arsenal smash us! The fear is the effort is back but will it last, that’s what we’ve seen before. Hopefully Amorim is the one who can sustain it.
But he hasn’t had 3 seasons and £1b to spend? How can this be?This guy is a proper coach. Players improving under him already.
Great to see Ruben keeping the players grounded. He's right, there were a lot of poor moments despite the great result. Everton were probably the better team before our 1st goal. The xg does show that we overperformed also. As fans, we do tend to lose sight of the flaws when we have a great result. I'm delighted with today, but it's better that he can look past the result and point out things we did poorly. SAF used to do the same. There were examples of big results where he was unhappy with our performance, and there were poor results where he was happy with our performance. All bodes well for the future.Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim talking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was far from a perfect performance. We have to improve, you can feel that in the game. After 15 minutes Everton controlled the game and it was difficult for us and we were losing the second ball. I felt that the players could solve some problems that we have as a team because of the quality that they have but it was far from a perfect performance but a really good result and tough match."
On their opening goal: "You have to congratulate the players and the rest of the staff. The most important thing on set pieces is the staff so great job. You can see how tall they are and how small we are as a team so we tried to see where we'd have space to create danger."
On Amad Diallo: "He is really big in talent, but small in size. He did a great job but he is also has to improve. He is a great moment. Ruud van Nistelrooy helped him a lot in his games in charge and now he's helping me."
On the mood becoming more buoyant and optimistic: "It helps to have a new face, it always helps. We have to be very clear to our fans and this will always help. Rather than trying to convince the fans about this performance we have a lot to do, it will take time. Sometimes we are not playing well but defended everyone together. Our fans just ask for hard work and then in time they will ask for better football."
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim talking to Sky Sports: "The result was good but we were pragmatic. It was not pretty but we were pragmatic. We did our job, which is to win.
"You can feel that we have a long way to go. You can feel that in the first few minutes, where we were OK, but then Everton controlled the game. Then we got the goals in the right moment and that changed the game.
"You can't just focus on the result, you have to focus on the way the result appeared. Like before the game, we have so much to do, but it is better to work with victories. Let's focus on the performance more than the result.
"You can feel it during the game. It isn't a line of top performances, it is a rollercoaster of performances. We have some moments when we are good but then we have moments when we have to suffer. We did it again like in the Europa League. We need time to train and improve. It is better to work with victories."
On Joshua Zirkzee: "It is everything for the player. He did a great job. It is good for his confidence. We had an idea, but it is not because I selected him that i had an iphipcheny, we needed fresh legs. The players are helping a lot, congratulations to them."
On Marcus Rashford's improved form: "A new coach is always like that, but there is so much to improve. He can do so much better. We all have to improve. But it was a great job from the players."
