Been trying to find this. Epitomizes everything English players need to improve on.

How much did Spurs spend in the summer? You were talking up your clubs chances this year of mounting a title challenge. When did Spurs last have Champions League football, and where do they stand compared to United with regards prestige and income?
This viewpoint you have now of a few seasons out of the Champions League being irreparably damaging for United doesn't really go hand in hand with your bullishness around Spurs chances given a worse set or circumstances. I wonder why that is.
Is it complacency to suggest that as long as Sheikh Mansour pumps hundreds of millions into City they'll be successful?
Four years with no CL income would still leave us with higher revenue than any other British club, with the ability to outspend any none sugar daddy club. Champions League' revenue accounts for less than 10% of our income and if you think sponsorship deals just fall away because of a lack of success, the fact that Liverpool still have the joint highest shirt deal in the League after 23 years of not winning a title should put to bed that myth.
The financial climate has changed since the 80's, meaning that clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and United are far too strong financially to fail. Worst case scenario we could just emulate Chelsea/City, sack Moyes and throw £60-70m a season at 2-3 different managers until we got it right.
United are on a different planet to Liverpool (and everyone else in our League) financially, irrespective of Champions League income. We can spend our way out of trouble if necessary in a way that no other club apart from Chelsea/City can. Our wage bill at over £180m is less than 50% of our turnover, which is nearly double the likes of Spurs/Liverpool who we'd be competing with 4th place with.
The only issue is whether Moyes with any budget can get a team competing at the top. Although again this is a short term issue because if he's given £100m and finishes 5th for 3-4 years he'll be sacked and replaced by someone who can get the team competing. This new person could then spend a further £100m and get us back to the top.
There are no medium or long term issues, nor can there really be. Only short term ones.
This whole post is bollocks. Without Champions League football we'd still have more money than you. Why the assumption that our sponsorships are all contingent on Champions League football while Spurs aren't? On an equal footing with neither in the Champions League are Spurs somehow a bigger draw for sponsors?Spurs had a minus net spend this summer. I predicted 3rd place, not a title challenge.
I haven't said that a few seasons out of the Champions League would be "irreparably damaging" for United, although it would of course be seriously damaging. Nor can you compare such damage with Spurs lack of CL football, since our sponsorship deals and long-term wage bill and are unrelated to the assumption of CL football.
In other words, CL football would be a financial bonus for us, whereas it's loss for you would be a financial hit, especially if it extended over more than one season.
mega rich club does not have anything to do with the biggest club on earth.
Moyes was appointment on the say so of one man. There are still many top managers who will want to manage United if Moyes does not work out.
Is he a bigger talent than wilshere? Seems to have "something" extra.

Who?
Now we have a Liverpool fan chipping in. Christ, the sharks are circling. Just as well these two are toothless.Who?

should the seat become vacant...we will have our pick. I doubt it will be mid season though...
I know, I'm only messing Barney. Sure you're my mate.Genuinely wondering which "top" managers are available? Not having a dig.

I'd imagine United wouldn't have too much difficulty replacing Moyes if the need arose. A struggling half season doesn't lessen our draw. We're a massive club and one any manager would love to have on their CV.
How about you respond to the point just made that your belief that not being in the Champions Leage rules out being able to sign quality players, whilst creaming yourself all summer about the quality players Spurs were signing whilst they had no Champions League football?
Its standard Glaston, ignore any post that calls him out, and respond to the ones that suit his agenda.
Yet every summer you have Spurs getting into the Champions League, with all their signings being of the highest quality, despite not having Champions League football as a lure. Spurs can seemingly "bounce back" every year, yet United can't and won't? .....
Genuinely wondering which "top" managers are available? Not having a dig.
Yeah ok. Again you just blatantly refuse to acknowledge and answer the points you're pulled up on.Another post full of things I've never said. Oh dear.
The post you quoted isn't a point I made. It was a point someone else made that you ignored. You have this weak habit of inventing things that I've never said. I suppose you imagine it makes your arguments look better.
I have not said that not being in the Champions League rules out being able to sign quality players.
Is it true his agent is Moyes' son?
Yeah ok. Again you just blatantly refuse to acknowledge and answer the points you're pulled up on.
I can't even be bothered. This is your MO, make a few posts that sound all reasonable but are really wummy little jibes at United, and then act all offended and victimised when you're pulled up on it. It's a waste of time. This thread is about Ross Barkley, I'm not taking it off track any more. Clearly we couldn't possibly sign him without Champions League football to offer, and that in no way corresponds to Champions League football being a requirement to attract quality players. Barkley also would never want to play under a manager who brought him through in the first place, since his current manager is much better, as he's proven year on year. You're right, Glaston. You're absolutely right. So tell me, which points have I not replied to? And don't respond yet again with something I've never said in the first place.

Lack of basic comprehension skills, innit?
Tedious. You said: "How about you respond to the point just made that your belief that not being in the Champions Leage rules out being able to sign quality players".
So it is a point you made (regardless of who made it first). And my reply to that point is given above.

This is your twattish MO:
* Endlessly invent things I've never said (even your post above is full of the same shit) ... and then pointlessly call me out on them.
* Never acknowledge your fabrications, even when challenged to produce the quotes ... or else you duck out and say "can't be bothered" when your stupid tangle of inventions disappears up its own arse
But you're right, this thread is supposed to be about Barkley and his potential transfer. So that's me done commenting further off-topic.

Received your request, SilentWitness. Forum is loading very slowly for me, but enjoy...
Yeah knowing the likes of Barkley and Herara are out there makes it seem like we needlessly spunked 27m on a player who may not be a regular in our starting XI.
