Training with the U21s eh? He'll have to try extra hard not to smash their phones

People saying he won't play again are dumb and he should be booed by the fans. United fans have stood by him constantly over everything and they will do so after this. We'll probably hear viva Ronaldo chants against Chelsea.

Personally, I'd boo the feck out of him but bare Ronaldo fanboys in our fan base.

You are still getting ones saying we should have let him leave. Where exactly? Nobody in the CL either wanted him or if they did were willing to pay his stupid wages. The only ones who could would mean him basically being semi retired. As I mentioned earlier while Messi is still in the CL he will want to be scoring goal in the CL, even if it is to the detriment of that club.

Guess we ain't getting any team news today. All questions will be about Ronnie in the press conference.

Exactly what Ronnie wanted if he's not being talked about during his game time (which, ironically, has been pretty average this season)

 Truly embarrassing. Ten Hag must be shitting it now Campbell has weighed in with this searing analysis.

Who is Kevin Campbell? I know sol Campbell and Frazier Campbell. Hate talksport, cthey just want peoples attention. Bad journalism. ETH spoke with Ronaldo just like he spoke with all other team players. Ronaldo is 37 for Christ sake. Are we planning with him?

Surely people know by now that Talksport goes out of its way to have a contrarian opinion to provoke a reaction.. that's how that station works..

Just ignore obvious wums and move on..

People can't seem to resist quoting the Daily Mail, talksport or the likes of Piers Morgan. It's insane, by consuming and sharing their "content" you encourage their behaviour.

Talksport really are the Fox news of football coverage.

I just don't get it with all of these people. They do realize he is nearly 38, right? Do they expect him to play at the top level forever? He has done very well to even make it this far, as many footballers have long since fallen off by this age, but a decline was going to happen at some point. It happens to everyone, no matter who you are, no matter what you do. It is unfortunate, but it is inevitable.

Played 300 odd games for Arsenal & Everton, won the League, FA Cup, league cup and cup winners cup.

There's quite a few ex-pros in the media from before the 2000s.
Oh, didnt know that, thanks. But he wasnt a top notch player? Something like Agbonlahor?

I don't think the Kevin Campbell video is that bad, to be fair to him. He's right in that Ronaldo is a bomb waiting to go off if you don't pander to him, but it was clear the club were happy for him to leave in the summer. The problem is, ten Hag/the club can't force him to leave while he's under contract, and if he ends up staying then the bare minimum you expect is for him to behave like a professional. Ronaldo hasn't done that so any and all criticism lies squarely at his door, so it is frustrating when people in the media don't hammer that point home and instead blame ten Hag/the club.

Of course, it's as plain as day, but it's all irrelevant if all you want to do is cause a reaction. These people are not paid for their insight, just their ability to cause a reaction. It's a cesspit.

Fecking hell, what a circus over nothing. If another player does that the media wouldn't even notice.
Does it happen that often? Feel like if Salah or Haaland did it, it would be big news. United (and Ronaldo) obviously gets more traction.

Well it isn't over nothing though. He is constantly using the glare of the cameras to make points that are undermining the manager at a crucial juncture in our rebuild.

We wouldn't really know because no one gives a shit if Trossard or Maupay leave the stadium with 2 minutes to go. It's just United and Ronaldo as always, this would probably make the news if he played for another club but only for a day, we'll have to hear this for a solid week now, and guess what the commentators are going to talk about during the game? A certain someone who isn't even on the bench!

I agree with you. The only wrong point to me seems to be that ETH should have get rid of him if he wasn't fully on board. Looking at the rumuors in the summer it looks like that actually happened, the problem just was that no top club was interested in Ronaldo.

Just offer him mutual termination of his contract and let him off to sporting or MLS. No top club is going touch him

But is it? Ronaldo leaving 2 minutes early doesn't mean our rebuild will come crumbling down now. If it does we've got bigger issues than Ronaldo. From reports we've heard the lads didn't even notice, they celebrated the win in the dressing room and everyone carried on as normal.

We know he tried to leave in the summer, we know he refused to follow pressing orders in training and do it during games and we know he's alienated himself behind the scenes. Him leaving before the game is over shouldn't have any effect on what Ten Hag is trying to do right now, and I doubt the lads even give a shit.

Who is Kevin Campbell?

Kevin Joseph Campbell (born 4 February 1970) is an English former professional footballer, sports television pundit and co-commentator.

He was a striker, who featured in the Premier League for Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Everton and West Bromwich Albion. He also played in the Turkish Süper Lig for Trabzonspor, and in the Football League for Leyton Orient, Leicester City and Cardiff City. He was capped four times by England U21, scoring once and received a call-up to the England B in 1991 where he earned one cap.

funny, he was born same day and year as Erik.

I’m glad ETH is our manager rather than the player hugging wet wipes that have preceded him. Very few managers would have the cojones to stand up to a global footballing icon like this. The fact that you still have media apologists for him shows what kind of grip he has on the game. Fair play to ETH and United. This has been handled impeccably thus far.
