i bet ten hag returned to his car to find a turd on his door handle.

Are people suggesting that Ronaldo only needed to go to the bathroom? Don't you know that this fitness savant is in complete control of his body?

That was clearly the walk of someone afraid to chance a fart.

Ronaldo would probably rather have us loosening 2-3 with him scoring both goals than sit on the bench and watch his side play well and win 2-0 like yesterday. To me that is not how a club legend behaves or thinks. For Ronaldo, United is there for him to shine, and not the other way around.
I can understand his frustration also with the World Cup in mind, but for ETH this is about United, and they simply play better without him at this moment.

There's something really funny and sad about the image of Ronaldo in a huff revving up his motor in the carpark while the rest of Old Trafford is absolutely bouncing. The guy is a proper bellend.

Just bored with him. Not interested in seeing the close ups of him in the bench. I'm all about the players on the pitch.

Still a good finisher who will have a job to do at various points in the season, however he's a squad player now , albeit one on vast salary.

I think that's what this is all about. It's most likely his last World Cup. If Ten Hag is winning while benching him regularly, the Portugal manager may also want to try the same.

You should see his fanboys on Twitter. I wouldn't believe that people like that exist if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
The ones on here are funny enough. I can’t believe it is being equated to “leaving your desk early”! That’s some serious dedication to defending his actions at all costs!

Why is this even a thing?

He was a sub, the focus should be on the players that performed.

He keeps showing disrespect then he won't play, pretty simple and EtH has it worked out perfectly.

He has no leverage here. His performances this season have been pretty poor and we've generally looked better when he's not on the pitch. He has 1 league goal. United were coming to the end of their best performance of the season. We were prepared to let him leave in the summer but he couldnt get a club, and we're willing to let him go in January. We're using him a way that best suits the club, not the player. There's no serious argument to be made that he's been let down in any way. We should carry on doing what's most beneficial for our season, and I fully expect ETH to do just that.

So what ? the obsession with every move he makes is ridiculous, leave the man alone

I hope Ten Hag uses this as the final straw and doesn`t give him any minutes again. The team is so much better without him and he obviously doesn`t care about and has no respect for his team mates. Give the minutes to Elanga and youth players .

More like a few minutes early leave from work than what you have described here (walking out of job for a day). Sometimes people do leave early from work, it happens, not that it was professional or anything, and boss has the right to get a little pissed off of course, but it’s not as serious as some of you has made out to be. As I’ve observed, some people like to act like a drama queen and make a big meal out of everything.

Some people like to act like a drama queen, yes. CR7, for one.

Somebody please update the thread title when there's a comment from the club/ETH, or whoever reports how we dealt with this. I don't think this behaviour should be just ignored.

Yesterday at the pub I met my first ever "player only fan". The guy was "supporting" United because Ronaldo is here. How the feck does that work? So when he retires you just stop watching football?

I'm willing to bet the manager gives a shit

Well he'll deal with it if he does so whats to discuss exactly? Just mindless consumption of drama so you get to be angry then people claim they hate said drama it's ridiculous

It's a forum where people discuss stuff. Why are you getting emotional and dramatic about it? If you don't want to participate, don't.

How old were they? It’s so hard to imagine an actual adult being that way.

This is true. He doesn't care about United or the fans. He only cares about himself and he's doing nothing but stinking the place out now. January can't come soon enough.

It was stupid but is being made out to be the bigger story than the result and performance. We all know where we stand on this - we're better without him playing and without the media attention. Love the fella for all he has done for us, but all parties know it is time to shake hands and move on.

How is this thread almost the same length as the Post Match thread?

Our best performance in years yet a lot of focus is on this petulant incident.

25 maybe? I asked him if he actually had a favorite team, his response was pretty much "Wherever Ronaldo plays".

Ronaldo should be ashamed of his action.
Even more so when our team played such a great match and he should have celebrated with everyone at the end.

I wonder United-exes have anything to say about this.
"United disrespected Ronaldo" something along the line ?

I am not going to slander the club legend. Hope the club and Ronaldo find amicable solution in winter and part their ways gracefully. And then we all just move on.

The more he acts up, the stronger the case for Ten Hag to drop him. He won't win against this manager.

Is there anything you would criticize Ronaldo for.

Your comparison is so of but if you're going to make it dont act like its something normal to leave work without your boss permission.
