Walk out of your job today without telling anyone. When your boss makes a big deal about it just tell him it's OK, it's not "extremely unprofessional", it's only a bit unprofessional. As you're saying it maybe you'll realise how daft it sounds in a context outside of defending your hero
More like a few minutes early leave from work than what you have described here (walking out of job for a day). Sometimes people do leave early from work, it happens, not that it was professional or anything, and boss has the right to get a little pissed off of course, but it’s not as serious as some of you has made out to be. As I’ve observed, some people like to act like a drama queen and make a big meal out of everything.

Maybe if it were a one-off it wouldn't be extremely unprofessional but he has been doing this sort of stuff since that game in pre-season when he left the stadium after half-time.
Yes that one was even worst. It’s 2nd time he commit such offence at this club, hence proper disciplinary action is required.

Fans shouldn't not act like drama queen.

Player on half a million a week can act like drama queen.

You are without a shadow of a doubt the most fascinating poster on here since that Spurs fan who's plane got lost in India.

I applaud your blind faith, if Ronaldo is some sort of God, I hope you're rewarded in Paradise.

He's hillarious. The irony is completely lost on him.

Sometimes I forget the guy is 37. He's such a child. Guy is shredding his United legacy this season.

Makes me appreciate how King Eric retired when he did.
Made me think of when Gary Neville retired
That’s abit unprofessional to be fair, but people are making a big meal out of that, which is unnecessary. If he has no good reason for that, maybe 1 week fine or 1 match ban would be appropriate.
If he had a good reason ETH would have given him permission...even last game the way he behaved after hes been subbed off. Not a templayer what so ever

Our main striker didnt play any preseason engineering a transfer and came back without match fitness which derailed the season.
Ronaldo shouldnt play for the club again in PL. If needed only play in cup matches. He should be made clear that he wont get any minutes and can leave to any club in January.
Ronaldo this season is same as Cavani in his last season.

Ironic that most of the reporting this morning seems to be about pundits claiming the ronaldo incident shouldn’t be the talking point.

I can’t be bothered hearing any more about this self centred, egotistical turnip. I’ll support him when he plays but made a conscious decision to refuse any and all clickbait on any platform.

‘ignoring’ ronaldo threads

Atleast wait and congratulate your team-mates for the best performance of the season.

Even Chelsea won't touch him now. Potter has proven he's not needed and his actions show it could disrupt the dressing room

His attitude since the start of July has backfired massively. Nobody wanted him enough, missed pre season so missed the start of the season and struggled to get back in. Gave all the power to Ten Hag and now nobody but his fanboy's bats an eyelid when he isn't playing

It’s been reported he left the stadium before the lads had even returned. Meaning he missed the debrief after the game etc.The team don’t just walk from the pitch straight to their cars. He had no right leaving so early.

Again people claim they hate the drama and then we've got a 10 page thread over a player leaving a few minutes early. Who gives a shit really? Maybe he just needed the lav

People sticking up for Ronaldo should remember our ethos - No player is bigger than the club. Ask Beckham and loads of others. It doesn't matter who you are or how good you are. If the manager says sit on the bench you sit on the bench. And it doesnt matter if he left with 1 minute or 30 minutes or left on the clock. Same difference. You dont do it. Sir Alex would have thrown shoes at him at full time. Saying that best thing Ten Haag to do is handle it quietly. Fine/drop, keep press to the minimum and move on.

I'm willing to bet the manager gives a shit

It’s unprofessional, but not to the extent of “extremely unprofessional” as some stated here. It’s over the top and unnecessary reaction. Sometimes people like to react like a drama queen onto everything.

That's true but not in this case. Ronaldo deserves all the shit and even more for how he behaved this season, with yesterday being the latest shit move.

Finished 3rd and 2nd in his two full seasons. He wasn't shit, that's a dumb thing to say.
Thats like praising Southgate for reaching the semis and final of the euro and WC, without looking at any context whatsoever.

3.5 years, hundreds of millions, no cup, no closer than 18ish points off 1st in the league, lower points tally to his predecessors best in 3 attempts.

What a dumb thing to say.

its nothing like that at all to be fair

It's been an almost Sanchez-level of mistake bringing him back. A decent goal return in a disaster of a season was not worth the ridiculous wages, the constant drama and the demolition of his legacy here.

Just get rid.

Relax. The man clearly had dinner reservations and needed to beat the post match traffic.

I don't hate Ronaldo or anything, he'll always be a club legend, but by god, he's not covering himself in glory is he.. it's like he's doing this stuff on purpose to change the narrative or something, it's time to go.. he needs a club that will constantly play him just because it's Ronaldo, and we don't have space for a player like that right now.
Also i think this whole situation has proven just how good Ten Hag is at managing his squad, Ole and Ralf both struggled with dealing with player power but he's proving over and over again that the club and the team comes first, leave your ego at the door.. and those that can't will be left behind, he doesn't care who you are... you love to see it

I am not sure the slave had that much of a legacy anyway. A Real Madrid legend. But yrha he's acting like a child and needs to be fecked off in January, just hope someone will pay his wages or he realises he's no longer worth very much.

I'm glad he stay here after the summer. If he left, his fanboys will be judging every draw and loss to his absence and saying how foolish it was to let him go after living off the 25 goals he scored last season when the whole dysfunctional team was set up with one gameplan and that was to feed and serve Ronaldo.

Now he's stayed there are no curtains to hide his demise and toxicity he brings to the team and manager. Ten Hag has given him enough rope to destroy his own legacy.

Ten Hag sat his ass down and delivered this Stone Cold Steve Austin speech to let him know what time it is.

Wish he'd showed the same intensity and movement when playing upfront

He has slowly, but surely eroded his legacy as a united player. I won’t lie, when he returned. I loved it. This was supposed to be a fairytale signing. But his behaviour this season is inexcusable.

Will be glad to see him leave ASAP

He knew what he was doing and what message he was sending.

He has to make it about him.

Get rid in January.

Great performance but its the Ronaldo show again.

Getting exhausting at this point.

Forget that.

Feed him a steel chair and a stunner when he walks through the door.

Get rid, and bring in a younger , more mobile striker in the January window

I wanted to hear what happened before commenting on it, but I guess now we know.

His attitude since the summer has been horrific. He shot himself in the foot by not turning up for training, paraded himself around Europe without any takers, and he's been an absolute shadow all season.

That was the best game we've played in years and that was too much for this petulant man child to take. How dare we thrive without him?

He "loves" Man United when it revolves around him. His selfishness is a detriment to the club and he should be moved on immediately.

The silver lining is that the rest of the squad couldn't give a shit he left. We should return the favour by leaving him at home untill someone decides to take him. Although, I wouldn't count on any serious club being stupid enough to have him.

Like leaving your desk a bit early, come on...

His job is not 40 hours per week and he left an hour early on friday for a drink.
His job is paid like a CEO of a big company. He has to 'work' for max. 2 games per week. His task was to sit there for 90+4 minutes and be available to do his job.

It's not like leaving early, it's more like leaving during your only weekly meeting, after shitting on the table to demonstrate how little you care about the company and your boss.

It was the only chance to make this about him and not the great team effort. He wanted to test if he's still bigger than the club.

its nothing like that at all to be fair
Its everything like that.

Blindly looking at meaningless milestones for a manager without any context whatsoever. Refusing to accept their advantages of resources, the teams they choked to, the easy runs they had and that they both failed to control most games in the times they managed whilst creating a host of selection and coaching errors.

Southgate is essentially the international equivalent of Ole.

undefendable - what a stupid thing to do on a wonderful night for the fans/players.

Are people suggesting that Ronaldo only needed to go to the bathroom? Don't you know that this fitness savant is in complete control of his body?

Unsurprising behaviour from the narcissist. An insult to the manager, rest of the squad, the supporters, the club. It's laughable we keep hearing about him being treated disrespectfully, the only person showing disrespect isn't Ten Hag.

Pay off his contract, flog him to Saudi Arabia, beg Chelsea to take him or just tell him to not bother turning up to training. Just get rid as soon as possible.

don't be daft, international tournament results are not comparable to 38 game PL seasons

But this isn't normal office job.

If you want to compare it to normal office job, I would say it's like Everyone, managers, staffs etc in the office are celebrating the success of new product launching. It has been tough few weeks, so everyone is a good mood and one staff decided to just walk out and go home when everyone is cheering..

Just few weeks ago, everyone in the office were celebrating his 700 goals, ffs.

Im not comparing that.

Im comparing the daft logic of evaluating managerial pedigree without any context whatsoever.

Yes agree. I cant remember any player or manager off the top of my head who went back to a club in the Premier and was as successful as before. The fact is time has caught up with him. Alarm bells should have sounded when he tried to move in the summer and missed pre season. Fault is definitely with him and the board, as they should have also let him go on a free. Now 450k a week millstone is around TH head and when you walk down memory lane in future, its this version of Ronaldo you will remember first, not the one pre RM.
